St Herman of Alaska Monastery, Platina CA

Thank you to Peggy for the following information. I said yesterday that “it looks like the main danger is past, but, one can’t say with a wildfire. Unfortunately, the worst-possible scenario may be upon us. Please, keep them in your prayers. If you wish to help the monks and nuns in a material way, contact Fr Michael Boyle at frmichael.boyle@gmail.com

Please keep them in your prayers. There are new developments. The nuns have been evacuated as the fire is coming closer to them. There is a new fire that started to the northeast of the monastery. They are hoping that the falling ash does not start more fires. The weather for tomorrow brings the possibility of more lightning. May God have mercy.

Please keep St Herman of Alaska Monastery and nearby St Xenia Skete (for women) in your prayers. They are NOT out of danger. There are new developments. The nuns at the skete were evacuated today. This is not just one fire, but, many burning from different sides. There is a new fire that started northeast of the monastery today, I believe. There is the possibility that the ash falling on the monastery and skete could start a fire as well. The weather may not be cooperating this weekend, either. The weather forecast says there is a possibility of more lightning on Friday. Please pray. God’s will be done. Glory to God!
