“In this corner”… let me say this, if the “Little Magician” was to come down from Heaven, he would prefer the Verkhovna Rada and the RF Gosduma to the US Congress and the British Parliament, with their focus groups and overeducated dweeb staffers. MVB would be out back handing out the brass knucks and pepper powder. What’s that about “democracy?”

A fight between deputies from the Yuliya Timoshenko Bloc and the opposition Regions Party, whose leaders meet on 7 February in the second round of the presidential election, took place on Wednesday at the morning session of the Rada. The fight broke out ten minutes before an announced break in the session. Deputies from Timoshenko Bloc rose from their seats and approached the Presidium. “Regions” deputies, believing that their political opponents wanted to block the presidium, tried to prevent it, and near the podium there was scuffle between Vladimir Bondarenko (YTB) and Andrei Kluyev (Regions Party), later joined by several more deputies.
