Ossetian refugees fleeing the Georgian aggressors in ’08… in particular, the Don Cossack Host opened its hearts to these people… an action that went unreported in the lapdog Western media…

President Medvedev said that almost all of Russia’s Western partners recognised that Georgia invaded South Ossetia in August 2008 and the Russian response to it was proper…
“I think that all the decisions we took at that time were absolutely justified and based on fact”, President Dmitri Medvedev said in Moscow on Thursday at a press conference after a meeting with South African President Jacob Zuma, responding to a question from our VOR correspondent. He went on to say that the war in South Ossetia in 2008 had no effect on Russian international relations. “Those who expressed their concern, I think, wanted to ensure that the actions of the Russian side were restricted to actions to save the lives of a people subjected to outside aggression. Therefore, our relationships with those who initially voiced doubts or concerns were restored very quickly”, he said. Mr Medvedev pointed up that Russia came to the rescue of the peoples of South Ossetia and Abkhazia in 2008 at a critical time for these republics. “The two years that passed since that time have not been wasted”, he noted. Russia insists that there be an agreement guaranteeing of the use of peaceful methods in the relations between Georgia, Abkhazia, and South Ossetia, Mr Medvedev said.
President Medvedev, in speaking about the possibility of cooperation with Georgia, said that Moscow and Tbilisi couldn’t normalise relations until the current President of Georgia, Mikhail Saakashvili, is removed from power. “Given the current Georgian leadership, we can’t have normal relations with Georgia, but that does not mean that such relations couldn’t recover fully in the event that Georgia decides to seat a new leadership. I’m sure it will happen”, he said. Mr Medvedev said that almost all of Russia’s Western partners privately acknowledged that Russia’s response to the Georgian aggression against South Ossetia in August 2008 was proper. “In some respects, of course, we used different approaches, but, in any case, if we speak openly and frankly, in private without the presence of the press, virtually everyone with whom I have had occasion to discuss this question recognised it as an act of aggression, and that our response to it was proper”, he said. “Today, we work together with the EU and other states, and we have a very good level of cooperation on all topics under discussion, which includes the questions surrounding the situation in the Caucasus”, President Medvedev said. “For various reasons, another factor is that some of our partners, in any case, can’t speak openly in public”, he said.

Editor’s Note:
Saakashvili, Yushchenko, the Croat neo-Nazis, and the Balt nationalists were the darlings of the neocons/Tea Party. Yushchenko went down to defeat (dragging Lil’ Miss Yuliya down in his undertow) and Saakashvili was defeated in his “Olympic Invasion” of ’08. His forces simply melted away… mostly via desertion (leaving all their equipment behind to fall into Russian hands). There was very little fighting and very few casualties on the Russian side (I know… I translated the dispatches of the war). The only serious fighting was between the Georgians and the South Ossetian militia, who trounced the Georgians (mostly without direct aid from Russia, it must be said). When the Russian forces passed through the Roki Tunnel, the Georgian cowards ran away and there was literally nothing between the Russians and Tbilisi. That is, the Russians showed restraint… and the Europeans appreciated that. That’s why there’s good relations between Russia and the EU, and that’s why France is selling Russia two helicopter carriers (over the loud protests of the USA… boo-hoo!).
Russian Orthodox Christians should have NOTHING to do with the Tea Party. Firstly, the economic basis of the so-called Tea Party (which is nothing but a rebranded neocon movement) is wicked and has been condemned by Patriarch Kirill as fraudulent. He said that the modern economy was “fraudulent” and that the workers are being exploited in the current “bubble”. Secondly, the Tea Party is deeply Russophobic and supports all the enemies of Russia. One of the advisors of Sarah Palin is Randall Schneuermann, who was/is a paid agent of the Georgian government. In short, if you support the Tea Party, you not only applaud the Georgian bombardment of sleeping civilians in Tskhinvali, you support the furtherance of such violence throughout the world. Not pretty, is it?
I do not care if I “lose readership”… the truth must be spoken. You can stand up for Orthodox Russia or you can stand up for the Tea Party. FULL STOP. You can support Patriarch Kirill, President Medvedev, and Prime Minister Putin (good Orthodox Christians all) or you can support JP, Dreher, and Mattingly (Renovationists flying the black banner). That’s your real world choice. I remember the photos that Russian friends sent me… they weren’t photoshopped. It sickened me to see what my country does throughout the world… but that’s your choice. You can choose to be upright and join hands with Orthodox Russia or you can join the dark legions of the Tea Party… it’s your choice. I’ve decided… what about you?
