US President Barack Obama (1961- )… he’s Christian… NOT Muslim. 18 percent of the population believes that he’s Muslim… 18 percent support the Tea Party… wow… are you thinking what I’m thinking? Wild, ain’t it?

US President Barack Obama confirmed that he’s a Christian and that he seeks his salvation in God. During his two-day tour of the country during the run-up to the 2 November election, where voters will choose US Congressmen, and 37 states will elect governors, he spoke in detail about his faith for the first time. Responding to questions from voters, during a visit to Albuquerque NM, Mr Obama mentioned his childhood, noting that his family went to church every week, “My mother was the most spiritual person I knew, but she didn’t bring me up in any particular church”. He admitted that he only came to faith much later, saying that the “Commandments of Jesus Christ” helped him to find it, as they pointed up a way of life that he wanted to emulate. He said, “I wanted to care for my brothers and sisters, to do unto others as we would want others to do unto us. To know that Jesus Christ died for our sins tells us that we should all have humility … that we human beings are sinful and imperfect, we make mistakes, and achieve salvation only through the grace of God”. In his opinion, people, being imperfect, should try to “see God in other people and do everything possible to help them find grace”, according to the website Christian Post. In order to do so, Mr Obama added that he does his best to live by Christian principles, pray every day, and serve the people. He reminded his audience that although the USA is a predominantly Christian country, members of other faiths live there as well, so he called on the religious majority to respect other religions. President Obama reiterated his position on abortion, saying that they should be “safe, legal, and rare”.
The newspaper The Daily Telegraph reported that President Obama was the son of a former Muslim from Kenya who later became an atheist. His mother hailed from Kansas, although nominally a Christian, she embraced secular humanism very early on. Her second husband was a Muslim from Indonesia, and the young Barack Obama briefly attended an Islamic school in Jakarta. Currently, only about a third of Americans believe that their president is a Christian (last year, half of the American population thought so). In addition, a recent survey showed that about 18 percent of Americans believed that Mr Obama is a Muslim. The remainder of those surveyed didn’t know what religion their president professed.

Doesn’t anyone remember the brouhaha over Rev Wright, Mr Obama’s pastor in Chicago, during the Democratic primaries in ’08? That would put paid to any rumours that Mr Obama was a Muslim, wouldn’t it?
However, we are talking about the “incorrigibly ignorant” here… not only are they ignorant, they refuse to attend to any correction or even debate. It’s interesting to note that Orthodox konvertsy have jumped on the Tea Party (and “conservative”) bandwagon with great gusto, and they attack all Orthodox who disagree with their politics. For instance, they vilify Frank Schaeffer… he’s “contradicting Orthodox faith and doctrine” because he disagrees with them… mainly for his Why I’m Pro-life and Pro-Obama. There is NOTHING wrong with this piece.
Both in the larger society and in the smaller society of American Orthodoxy, the Tea Party is a dangerous cancer. We must slay the dragon… we must… and we can! Otherwise, America will groan under a plutocratic dictatorship (it shall have a “nice” face, though… it shall wear “garmies” and have a temple recommend, too), and Orthodoxy will be infiltrated by joyless prune-faced tight-arsed cultists.
Let’s return to the New Deal… we can do it! Who needs Chinese undies and pots n’ pans, anyway? Let’s get our own people back to work… that’s the ticket, NOT the Tea Party export of all jobs abroad. As for the Church, it’s time to put the squalling toddlers in the playpen and for us grownups to pour ourselves an adult beverage.
Remember… the Tea Party wants to take away your rights in the name of “freedom for the plutocrats”… vote AGAINST them in November!

A friend of mine asked me, “Just what in the hell are ‘garmies’?” “Garmies” is a slang term for “LDS Approved Garments”, they’re Mormon magic undies, believe it or not. Can you believe that’s one of the tenets of this loopy cult? Everybody’s got to wear goofy nicks with Masonic symbols on ‘em, and when they’re worn out, one has to cut the symbols out and burn them (I’m NOT jestng or joking… I wish that I was funning you, but this is God’s honest 100 percent unadulterated and unvarnished truth). Betcha that the Mormon Church gets a cut of the sales, no?
Oh… a “temple recommend”… that’s a chit that says that you’re paid up and can visit a Mormon Temple. One of the most common thing that the Mormons do is to deny such to those who haven’t paid up their extortionate dues or who’ve pissed off a higher-up in the Mormon hierarchy. They most often do this at weddings… leading to parents being barred from their own children’s marriage ceremonies! To think that Beck goes into orgasm about such a hateful and nasty cult! Don’t forget… he’s a Christian apostate. No Christian should support the Tea Party… if you do, you support the concept of apostasy.
