I shall say that I’m tired of shit diggin’ and muck raking. It’s time for the charade to end, and end quickly. Jonas Paffhausen should resign and hand the Tomos of Autocephaly for the OCA back to His Holiness. Full stop.

There is no “painless” way out… we have to admit that due to our prelest and idiocy, Russian Orthodoxy in the USA is now at less than half the membership it had in 1970 (both OCA and ROCOR), and that we have to adjust the Church administration to reflect this. It shall HURT. People shall lose positions… institutions must be closed. Firstly, SVS must go… it’s an expensive white elephant and prestige mill. Yes… it shall cause disruptions in clergy education for at least five years (if not a decade), and no one can say it’s an easy affair (the first three years shall be particularly dicey, to be sure).

Secondly, we need to consolidate dioceses, as we cannot afford the bishop-heavy structure we have at present. We can support three dioceses in the USA, in NYC, Chicago, and San Francisco, with each ruling bishop having two to three vicars. This would be after the MP consolidated the OCA and the ROCOR with the MP in the US and Canada.

To be blunt, this is our only way out. Paffhausen punked out… not only in this case, but in the recent Velencia case as well. He has proven himself an utter failure. He can retrieve a legacy by resigning, returning the Tomos, and going back to his monastery to work out his salvation as a simple monk. That’s all that’s left for him.

For us… aren’t you tired of wading through shit (there’s no nice way of putting it, I’m afraid)? It’s time to go home… I’m tired of hearing of this or that “Great White Hope”… the Mother Church isn’t perfect, it isn’t Nirvana, but it’s our Mother. I know that all true blue Russian ethnics feel as I do… as for you konvertsy… if you want to come, fine. But understand that you’ve got to shut up and learn. The Church is what She is… the Bride of Christ. We like Her the way She is… so does Our Lord. If you can’t live with that… go with God. We’ll not hurl imprecations at you.

This is one too many, truly. Drizzle-drazzle-druzzle-drone… time for this one to come home…

One Nation Working Together… One Nation Voting Together… Equals Democracy, NOT the Tea Party!

I noticed that the “One Nation Working Together” rally in DC got less press coverage than the Palin-Beck Dixie Fry, even though it attracted a larger (and more mixed) audience. Can you say “Ministry of Truth” (or, in Newspeak, Minitru)? I believe that if the majority of people turn out for the election, we can defeat the Tea Party… they shall win in some smaller and more nativist venues, of course. However, we’ll be able to hold ‘em… if we don’t, we’ll have suffering like this country hasn’t seen since the Great Depression of the ’30s. After all, the Tea Party is “of the rich, by the rich, and for the rich”… any questions?
