OCA Takes New Tack in Attempted Coverup of L’Affaire Storheim

“You shut up about Archbishop Seraphim! If you don’t, you’re Satanic, and we’re gonna trash your reputation and see to it that your name’s mud… wanna try us?” THIS is the OCA’s game plan (the same one that the Parisian pukes used in smearing Mme Plas)… have we truly sunk that far? I’m fear that the answer is “yes”…

THIS is preposterous. I hope that the court disregards this and presses the investigation home.

We have two separate ways of dealing with child abuse cases. The MP is cooperating with the RF Genprokuratura in the Vladimir Oblast case… it’s not issuing smarmy and empty releases in its self-defence such as the one above. See:

http://02varvara.wordpress.com/2010/10/20/rf-genprokuratura-to-investigate-media-reports-of-child-abuse-at-st-andrei-bogolubsky-convent-in-vladimir/

Of course, if it tried such a stunt, the local bishop would have his escapade publicised in KP and broadcast on Vesti, and he’d be scrod after KMG was done with him. I’d like to know if there’s been similar stuff issued in the RC child abuse cases… this does sound UNIQUE.

On the other hand, the OCA’s tack is deny, deny, deny. Don’t forget, this is the same defence attempted in the Koumentakos case… “You can’t accuse Ray Velencia! He’s such a nice guy! He was so kind to me!” It’s saying, “You can’t prosecute us! WE SAY SO!” THAT’S arrogance and hubris writ large, kids.

I weep for the victims in this… they’ve finally come forward, and, now, they’re being accused of being Satan’s minions. God do help me… I’ve seen a lot, there’s much that saddens me, there’s little that surprises me, but this denial on the part of the OCA is monstrous and hits a new low. They truly expect us not only to swallow this, but also to keep the money rolling in.

This shall continue until the crank and sickly OCA is put down. It’s time to go home… when a priest in Russia was caught with kiddie porn, he was put in the defendant’s cage, tried, convicted, and sent off to do hard time in a Russian slam (which is no rest home, kids, and Russian prisoners hate child molesters as much as American cons do)… and the case received wide publicity in the press. Either we do the same, or, our cred is gone, completely, and we shall only be fit to be thrown into the hottest of Hell’s fires.

God have mercy on us all…

Editor’s Postscript:

A lawyer acquaintance sent me an e-mail… she said that she always advises clients to keep their mouths shut during an investigation. She also asked me, “Doesn’t the diocese have a lawyer? They’d tell them not to post this, it’s prejudicial to their cause”. That’s a good point… I didn’t think of it (but, then again, I’m no lawyer). This shows how disorganised the OCA has become… just watch them call me “hateful” and “distorting”. Hey… I didn’t tell you to do this dumb-as-dirt posting.

I hope that the court presses the investigation home… this stinks to the heavens and this pustule has to be lanced.

A Further Postscript:

Another lawyerly acquaintance told me to cut-and-paste the OCA posting, as it could “disappear” at any time. Didn’t think of that, either (drats)… here’s the missive (keep your dinner down as you read it, it’s that fulsome and disgusting):

I saw the many letters of support being posted for our brother and Archbishop Seraphim. His sisters, brother, brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews all very much appreciate this as well. To accuse him of this is ludicrous. Even my fellow employees/bosses came to me and said they saw it for what it was… a witch hunt, assassination of character. And they are completely unbiased.

Our local Anglican Bishop in the papers and on TV and emphatically said his record is absolutely clear during the many years he was an Anglican priest. I called her and thanked her for that… she didn’t have to say anything at all.

Please also pray for those who accuse him… the accuser of the brethren is Satan. Lord have mercy on those who perpetrate lies.

Love in Christ
Archbishop Seraphim’s family

This would spur me on to investigate further… it shall have the same effect on the Canadian court, to be sure. Who advised this stupid move? If it was a lawyer, they deserve to be shot. However… it DOES have the ordure of Bobby and Iggy about it… it wouldn’t surprise me to find out that they had a hand in it. Caveat lector

“In God we trust… all others pay cash, and that means you! It’s for the good of the Church!” Somehow, I agree with Mr Asimov… God does prefer honourable atheists to corrupt Christians. Meaty reflection, no?

______________________________

I would believe in a God who would choose to save people on the basis of the totality of their lives and not the pattern of their words. I think He would prefer an honest and righteous atheist to a TV preacher whose every word is God, God, God, and whose every deed is foul, foul, foul.

Isaac Asimov

Yes, Isaac Asimov was an atheist… it’s not for us to dissect it. The only thing that matters is, “Is he speaking Truth?” If he is, we must attend to him. If he isn’t, we must reject him. As for me, I accept the second sentence of this syllogism… after all, I believe that the prime source of atheism is corrupt clergy and gossipy laity; we have paid dearly for tolerating this devilish symbiosis.

We must grow up and see ourselves for what we are (I’m no moral paragon… the sins on my plate aren’t few), or, we shall die out… and rightfully so.

Remember… “it’s for the good of the Church”… excuse me whilst I hurl.

Government will Return the Building of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Catholic Church in Smolensk to Catholic Ownership

Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Catholic Church in Smolensk (1894-97)

______________________________

The governor of the Smolensk Oblast, Sergei Antufyev, received proposals from Poland for the restoration of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Catholic Church in Smolensk, which is the current site of the oblast archives. “After we complete the construction of the new building of the State Archives on Nakhimov Street next year, we’ll discuss with our Polish interlocutors the question of the restoration and/or renovation of the Catholic church building that is used at present to store government documents”, he said at a meeting with Smolensk businessmen. Speaking about the impact of this action on local tourism, Sergei Vladimirovich stated that this would give visitors to the city another excellent tourist destination. In his words, his Polish partners are ready to begin restoration work on the church building “tomorrow”. The Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Catholic Church in Smolensk was built in the Gothic Revival style in 1894-97 through the donations of parishioners and clergy, and the provincial architect M. Meisher designed it. Services were held in the building until 1930, after which the authorities closed the church [and secularised the building].

Russian Orthodox TV Channel “Soyuz” Began Broadcasting in Europe, Middle East, and North America

Igumen Dmitri Baibakov: “Religion is a union between man and God. By the way, that’s the reason for the name “Soyuz” (union). We’re talking about eternity. Without sensationalism, without dissimulation, without thunder and lighting, we’ve no desire for ratings… we just focus on eternity… Furthermore, people are more and more hearing our voice…”

Here’s a vid on the Beatitudes…

The Orthodox TV channel Soyuz began broadcasting in Europe, Middle East, North Africa, and North America. As reported on Wednesday by the news agency of the Diocese of Yekaterinburg, which owns the television station, broadcasting started on two new satellites, HotBird-6 and Galaxy-19. HotBird-6 is one of the most popular in Europe and the Middle East, both amongst individual viewers and cable operators. It reaches about 40 countries, with more than 120 million subscriber homes (71 percent of the total population). Galaxy-19 is no less popular, but it focuses on North America. It reaches many individual viewers and cable operators in the USA, Canada, Mexico, and some Caribbean countries.

Even if watch no other vid on this post, watch this one… yes, it’s in Russian… even if you don’t have facility in Russian, WATCH IT. The visuals will give you an idea of the scale of the MP’s informational efforts… they will also tell you that the OCA autocephalist fanatics are chock fulla shit (and that we belong back in the Mother Church NOW). God bless Vladyki Vikenty’s vision and foresight (doesn’t he sound much like the late Vladyki Lavr of Jordanville?).

Igumen Dmitri Baibakov, the Head of the Information and Publishing Centre of the Diocese of Yekaterinburg, first proposed the establishment of international Orthodox television broadcasts in January 2005, but the development of the project proceeded gradually. A year ago, the channel received the blessing of Patriarch Kirill Gundyaev of Moscow and all the Russias to begin work on launching full-fledged international broadcasting.

An interview with the author/singer/artist Svetlana Kopylova

Fr Dmitri told us, “The uniqueness of the project lies in the fact that, for example, the HotBird satellite broadcasts in more than 40 languages over 500 open channels. Amongst them are dozens of religious channels from Muslim, Protestant, Catholic, and other religious groups… but there are no other Orthodox providers. However, over the last decade, there are not only a large number of Russians living abroad; there are many Orthodox Christians amongst them. God willing, we will be a great resource for them. This is not to mention that we can transmit our idea of our country, our history, our culture, and our faith to many millions of people”. Over the next few years, Soyuz plans to continue its development of satellite broadcasting in order to extend service to South America, Australia, and Asia.

Here’s a programme for older kids, Kupelka, “The Power of Prayer”

Editor’s Note:

If you search for Soyuz videos on You Tube, paste the following into the search box (English transliterations won’t do, kids):

Here is the URL for the Soyuz website:

Let’s not be coy… only the MP has the resources to run such a service… the EP doesn’t have the money or the people. The OCA is even more laughable, and none of the swaggering contentions of Hopko and JP have any reality whatsoever (Hopko’s recent boasts concerning “autocephaly” are particularly unhinged and round the bend). Full stop. THIS is why the MP is the world centre of Orthodoxy… it’s why the MP is the effectual “First Amongst Equals”. If Bart has that title now, it’s because we Russians allow him to claim such. We have no need of empty titles and bootless boasting. In any case, Bart is a suppliant client of the Centre. There’s no need to further humiliate him publicly. However, know this… there’s going to be no “Pan-Orthodox Council” in 2013… Chambésy’s been shut down, and there’s no money left to hold it. All the noise from SVS and the Parisians is utter stuff n’ nonsense… you’re a boob if you believe it. There’s been NO word in the Russian media… and that’s saying a lot.

His Nibs is eating his Wheaties… Bart survives on the Centre’s dole… Hopko and JP are measly bugs not even in the picture… let’s keep it all in perspective, shouldn’t we?
