OCA Burned For Cretinous Posting in re Storheim on Official OCA Canadian Website… Issues Usual Mealy-mouthed Lawyerly Retraction on oca.org

“We accept no responsibility for anything… the OCA has no authority over the Canadian Archdiocese, we say so. Anyone who thought otherwise because the OCA Holy Synod appointed Seraphim Storheim bishop of that diocese is mistaken. If anyone fucks up, we throw them to the wolves, stuff them down the memory hole, and wash our hands of the whole matter.”

Note this:

The Orthodox Church in America has learned that yesterday… Thursday, October 21, 2010… an individual published on the web site of the OCA Archdiocese of Canada a personal opinion purportedly of family members of His Eminence, Archbishop Seraphim of Ottawa and Canada concerning an investigation involving the Archbishop. The Orthodox Church in America understands that this personal use of the Archdiocese of Canada’s web site was completely without the consent of the Archdiocese or anyone authorised to speak on its behalf.

The publication was also without the consent or foreknowledge of the Orthodox Church in America. While the OCA exercises no supervisory authority over the Archdiocese, or the Archdiocese’s Archbishop, or its web site, the OCA laments the misuse of the Archdiocesan web site and unequivocally denounces the unacceptable content of the personal opinion published on that site.

If you believe this, I have a wonderful one-owner bridge for you. Did you notice, “the OCA exercises no supervisory authority over the Archdiocese”… what utter bunkum and rot. What is the OCA, a bunch of Eastern-rite Proddies? If this doesn’t prove to you that Syosset left the Church long ago, you’re hopeless.

There’s only one thing to say:

Quem deus vult perdere, dementat prius.

The Winnipeg coppers should mark this down… the OCA refuses that it has any authority over its Canadian diocese. Why, then, did the OCA Holy Synod name Seraphim Storheim as its ruling bishop? After all, they just told us that they “exercise no supervisory authority over the Archdiocese”. I would advise Canadian OCA members to go under another Orthodox bishop… this OCA statement runs counter to accepted Orthodox ecclesiology. Then, watch the OCA bite its own tail in an attempt to deny what they just said!

This will have only one effect… it will make the OCA apparat look “guilty as charged”. Who’s in charge? It looks as though their luck has finally run out. God help us all…

What was that rot spouted by Reardon, “Not so long ago, the OCA appeared to be in dire shape. Now, on the other hand, there is a general impression that the situation is much better”. Do want that order of Crow Supreme supersized, Mr Reardon? Do you want fries with that order?

“Everything has changed…” how ironic that sounds now…
