Here’s Some “Wisdom” from the Konvertsy Brat Owen White…

Read this:

Do not react, do not resent, keep inner stillness.

http://ochlophobist.blogspot.com/2011/02/do-not-react-do-not-resent-keep-inner.html

Note this comment to the above vacuous pseudo-post:

Don’t react, like ocanews did; don’t resent like VFR did and does, and keep inner stillness, i.e., away from the public running around from event to event a la Acton. Nice.

“David B” (a punk who refused to sign their full name)

Before we go any further, here’s a definition of “resentment”:

Resentment is the experience of a negative emotion (anger or hatred, for instance) felt as a result of a real or imagined wrong done. Etymologically, the word originates from French “ressentir”, “re-“, intensive prefix, and “sentir”, ”to feel”; from the Latin “sentire”. The English word has become synonymous with anger, spite, and bitterness.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resentment

Let’s not go into “resentment” just yet. Let’s look at Owen’s asinine assertion. This is typical cockamamie konvertsy pabulum, as handed out to them by their crackbrained pseudo-guru “elders”. I don’t “resent” anyone… that’s a childish emotion. I report what’s out there… without any hyperclericalist gloss and pseudo-piety. Owen White is chock fulla beans… not to mention something a bit more PUNGENT. It absolutely reeks of spiritual immaturity and general lack of experience in life. Note well that this comes from a person who thinks jumped-up recent converts like Oliver Herbel to be experts on Church affairs. Nevertheless, it does tell us where the konvertsy stand, and that’s a good thing. These uninformed children think that they can monopolise the discussion on Church issues. I’d observe that none of them has the knowledge or maturity to issue forth an opinion on mud pies, let alone convoluted questions of institutional Church practise and history (I’d also exclude them from discussions on good beer, poker, fine art, down n’ dirty diners, and childrearing, as well).

Look at the profile of “David B”:

David B

Gender: Male

Industry: Student

Occupation: Seminarian

Location: New York. United States

About Me

I’m a husband, a daddy, a former high school Spanish teacher, and a reader/seminarian in the Eastern Orthodox Church. Here you can read the thoughts of someone who’s trying to cooperate with God to live life both as Eucharist… that is, as one thankfully being transfigured by and for God… and as Icon… that is, as an ever-clearing window that bears witness to God’s union with man. Thanks for stoppin’ by.

Your superpower is that you smell like dandelions whenever someone lies. How will you maintain your secret identity?

Work as a florist on Capitol Hill.

I made none of this up. Truly… it’s what the bugger actually wrote. This is a typical profile of a konvert… they really do spew forth such vacuous rubbish… and expect us to swallow it whole, without comment or demur. Such people have no connection to the Real Church… when they leave us to follow JP, it won’t affect those of us who shall remain loyal to Christ’s Church. The Church is what it is… full stop. The institutional Church isn’t perfect, it never was, and it never shall be. That’s why all Orthodox Christians, not merely clerics, are called upon to defend the Church whenever it’s under attack. Do bear in mind that not all enemies of the Church are unbelievers… some are in our midst.

I’d point up that Paffhausen is in contempt of the OCA Holy Synod. In a REAL Local Church, the First Hierarch isn’t a “pope”… he’s a “chairman of the board”. In the MP (and all other legitimate Local Churches), the ultimate authority is the body of ruling bishops sitting en banc as the Archpastoral Council, not the Patriarch (thusly, the Council, not the Patriarch, deposed Diomid Dzyuban). Anyone who has any knowledge of actual Church practise knows this. Ergo, the OCA Holy Synod had the right to order JP to take a leave, without his consent, if necessary. In Orthodox practise, the Holy Synod, as a collection of ruling bishops, “outranks” the single bishop with the honorific of First Hierarch. Of course, the konvertsy don’t know this… and it fatally wounds all of their commentary.

Owen… the only thing that one can say to you is, “Why don’t you just shut up” (thank you, King Juan Carlos!). I’ll admit that long experience has made me cynical regarding all officeholders (not merely ecclesial ones), but “resentment”… I’m far from being bitter and spiteful… and, yes, one can be angered at evil. Owen White and David B are burying their heads in the sand… they’re typical Gnostic Konvertsy… all “spirituality”, and all “theology”. I’m rather more straightforward and to the point… remember the old saying, “They’re so heavenly minded that they’re no earthly good”. It applies here in spades.

It DOES take all kinds. Pass the jug, smile, and observe the mixed-together comedy and tragedy of l’condition humaine. This sinful-ginful world’s gonna chug along, no matter what Owen and David say. Our job is to see that the bastards don’t always win…

Editor’s Postscript:

A priest sent me the following:

It’s one of the oldest psychological tricks in the book… to patronise and condescend:

“They’re resentful because they’re jealous. Therefore, I can ignore what (the truths and experience) they’re saying. As for me, I’m holy, I have an exalted mind and transfigured heart, I understand everything, I’m always right, and I don’t need the (inconvenient) truth”.

It just shows how deep these people are into prelest/self-delusion.

No commentary is necessary… keep on keepin’ on, Batiushka!

OCA.Org Pumps Up Bootless Ecumenical Love Feast in Cyprus… It Got No Mention on Patriarchia.ru or Any Major Russian Media Source

Read this:

http://www.oca.org/news/2446

This isn’t what it appears to be. Firstly, it’s a WCC-focused meeting. Secondly, this petty little conclave got no mention on patriarchia.ru or on any of the major Russian media outlets that report on religion. I’ll betcha that the Blunder’s propaganda mill will put something up on patriarchia.ru tomorrow! Always keep in mind that when a post carries the tagline Служба коммуникации ОВЦС/Патриархия.ru (DECR Communications Service/Patriarchia.ru), it’s nothing but hot air from Bolshaya Ordynka and it doesn’t reflect the opinion of His Nibs and his inner circle. That is to say, it’s utter BS from the Blunder.

In any case, any proceeding with Peter Bouteneff and Paul Meyendorff is an airy-fairy wordfest. This was an attempt by El Gordo’s party to say, “See… world Orthodoxy accepts us. You have to shut up”. No sale… this wasn’t a real conference, it was just a bunch of pseudo-intellectuals meeting to discuss a notional WCC paper. The guest list was fixed months ago, to be sure, before this present crisis hit, and most of the pseudo-intellectuals involved are sympathetic to phonies such as Bouteneff and Meyendorff (the latter is particularly dense, he trades on his father’s reputation).

This is going to end with a bunch of bootless scholars issuing dense papers that no one will read… and it will have NO effect on practical Church life whatsoever. Why is the OCA wasting money on such frippery when so many of its members are unemployed or underemployed? One does wonder about their priorities…

4 March 2011. Some Thoughts on the Centre and the Current OCA Crisis

Let’s compare the OCA situation unfolding at present with what happened with the Sourozh crisis in England. Many pleaded with the Centre to do something. The Centre appeared to do nothing, it waited… and, oddly enough, that was exactly right. Instead of defrocking Bloom and Osborne, they just waited for Bloom to die and Osborne to commit ecclesial suicide. Then, it all fell into their hands, quite naturally. No doubt, their policy on the OCA (and Rue Daru) is the same. They’re waiting for it to fall into their hands.

That leads one to consider the Centre’s policy in the OCA end game that’s unfolding right now. What will its policy on the ground be, now, that the OCA’s imploding? Firstly, the MP, doubtlessly, wants the Church in Alaska to be an integral part of the main MP. Metropolitan Kliment Kapalin, who wrote a book on it, would be delighted to take it over, and Alaska would get, at last, not only a bishop, but a Metropolitan. Furthermore, why not? It was the original outpost of the Church in North America, after all. As for Canada and the USA, I’ve noted that those from abroad see it as being together, in one united North American Metropolia, whilst people from the US and Canada tend to see two separate bodies (but with both under the MP). That’s no major disagreement. In addition, the MP would probably split the ROCOR into three or four Metropolia, the Americas (Anglophone and Latin), Australasia, and Western Europe. The OCA konvertsy can go to the Angliochians, to join their brethren already there (that is, if Saliba will take them… an open question). The Albanians, Bulgarians, and Romanians can go home, and the rest can join the reunited Russian Orthodox Metropolia in North America. Therefore, the only question remaining is how much of the present OCA will stay loyal to the Church (let’s not be coy, Paffhausen will form a schismatic body, just as Denisenko in the Ukraine did)?

Much the same will happen with Rue Daru. It’ll implode and, then, the Centre will pick up the pieces. Archbishop Gabriel has just had a major operation on his lungs, brought about by chain smoking. He’s paranoid about Russians. It’s the end of the road for Daru, for the EP has refused, so far, to allow them to ordain any new bishops, not they’ve had any serious candidates for the last 30 years. I suspect that the Centre and Constantinople have already cut deals behind the scenes on this situation, in any case.

As for the immediate situation in the OCA for the next 90 days, I shan’t even hazard a guess. The situation is that fluid and murky. The only thing that any reasonable observer can conclude is that it’s not going to improve, and that the confusion is only going to increase in the immediate future. However, do note this… Mel Pleska has been lying low. It’s just like the False Council of Ferrara-Firenze… the Pope of Rome demanded of his advisors, “And Mark of Ephesus, does he accept the pact?” When he was told, “No, sir, he didn’t”, the Pope cried out, “Then, it’s all undone!” The same applies to the present situation. If Mel Pleska were to throw his support behind JP… Moby MIGHT have a chance at survival. If Mel Pleska were to come out in opposition… or merely not state a position… it’s only a matter of time before the Fall of the House of Paffhausen.

Those are my thoughts, arrived at after discussion with folks better versed than I am. Take them, or, leave them, as you will…

There are Two “Reasons” Why You Should Disbelieve All of Moby’s Lies About Support from Moscow…

Firstly, the pro-JP crowd crows that they have Moscow’s support. That’s not only not true, it’s a WHOPPER, kids. Firstly, there’s been NO reporting of the OCA situation since Tuesday 1 March. Don’t forget… the only news posted on patriarchia.ru came out of the Blunder’s camp… it didn’t come from the Patriarch, or, from sources known to be close to him. JP has the Blunder’s support, and the support of his faction… no one else. When JP met in NYC with Metropolitan Kryštof, Igor Vyzhanov, a rather slippery sort from the DECR (he’s Representative of the VRNS at the UN) was present, too. JP doesn’t have the support of the Centre unless he gets open and unambiguous support from His Nibs. Full stop. That won’t happen…

Secondly, if JP had the unambiguous support of the Centre, he would have been photographed with people such as Vsevolod Chaplin, Mark Golovkov, or Roman Silantiev when he was in the Rodina (and they would’ve issued statements of support for him, too). He wasn’t… all that he got was low-res photos with the Blunder and his minions (except for the images on Epiphany). If you want to know what the Centre thinks of this overweight lightweight, look at the image posted above. This picture IS worth a thousand words… that’s what His Nibs thinks of El Gordo the Great. Keep this image in mind as you read all the pro-JP propaganda that’s going to come out in the coming days. It’ll keep you straight, I’m sure.

Benjamin Peterson Punks Out… Stabs OCA Holy Synod in Back

Read this:

PASTORAL LETTER ON RECENT EVENTS. 03.03.11

3 March 2011

Holy Martyrs Eutropius, Cleonicus, and Basiliscus of Amasea {papal calendar: Editor}

Beloved Clergy, Monastics, and Faithful of the Diocese of the West,

As many of you are painfully aware, there are numerous speculations and opinions floating about the internet following a recent meeting of the Holy Synod of our Orthodox Church in America. I believe there is no accident that this great temptation is happening just before the period of the Great Fast.

I have been quite reticent about making matters more complicated, more confusing, and more perilous by making some sort of public statement that will be parsed and scrutinised by others. We have come to a precarious time in our history, a time when it is possible for anyone with an opinion or thought to broadcast it to the world. And, it seems there are those who feel every matter is their business. The result is soul destroying. The demon of gossip runs about freely among us, hardly detected and unexposed to the light of day.

What occurred in Santa Fe was a matter that should have and could have remained within the body of our Holy Synod. It should have remained there to preserve both the dignity of our much-loved Metropolitan and of his brother hierarchs, the Synod of Bishops. It was and remains a matter that touches upon mutual accountability,
truth and a most sacred trust that must exist among the hierarchs of the Church of God. It was and remains a matter that touches upon the meaning of obedience to each other out of love in Christ, conciliarity.

Very soon after our meeting, postings began to appear on the internet from people who were not in the room, from persons who had and have no first-hand knowledge of the deliberations that took place there. A website in Greece, for example, assured the world Metropolitan Jonah had been asked to resign and was no longer the primate of the Orthodox Church in America. This is flatly and totally untrue. It is a lie told by gossips who know nothing.

The Holy Synod of Bishops, a body whose very nature requires mutual obedience to each other in a spirit of truth, asked Metropolitan Jonah to request a leave of 60 days and to allow us to remove the heavy burden of care for our Church from his shoulders so that he could attend to his own physical, mental and spiritual health. We attempted to do this in a manner that would allow him privacy and to retain the dignity of his office. This is clearly indicated in the minutes. I regret our delay in releasing these minutes has allowed speculation to injure the Body of Christ and for that injury to fester. It has allowed persons outside the body of the Synod to spin
and colour the facts.

Metropolitan Jonah remains the primate of the Orthodox Church in America and, like the rest of us, is accountable to God and to the entire Church for his actions. Our polity that rests upon the critical relationship between the primate and his synod is, I believe, what is being challenged but remains unchanged.

I ask your prayers for both the Metropolitan and the Holy Synod and I ask your forgiveness for the disturbance that has occurred in the peace of the Church.

Editor’s Note:

Firstly, my thanks to the many correspondents who sent me links on this…

You’d think that Benjamin Peterson was an affronted paragon of virtue. He’s not… emphatically not. He has a drink driving arrest on his record… and the 2008 all-American Sobor rejected him for the white hat due to credible tales of his homosexuality. Nevertheless, this is a GOOD thing. It tells us that BP is now solidly behind El Gordo (BP does live in a HOOMie-owned building, after all). Reflect on this… both BP and JP concelebrated with Isidore Brittain, a suspended clergyman. That’s a major offence against Church Order… it’s punishable by deposition from office. That is to say, of course, BP’s defending Moby… they both spat on Christ and His Church by concelebrating together with a clergyman suspended by the OCA Holy Synod by name… and had their pictures taken with him, besides. They’re proud of having done that, kids. Isidore Brittain was Nikolai Soraich’s homosexual lover by all accounts… credible sources say that BP’s a homosexual… JP had deep ties with the deposed sodomite Gleb Podmoshensky (he went to Russia in the 90s under GP’s aegis, not that of the MP, disbelieve OCA lies to the contrary). Does this mean that JP’s a poofter, too? There’s been no direct evidence, but if one totes up what’s available, any serious observer would have to conclude that it’s a very distinct probability.

We’re paying for having tolerated sodomite bishops for some thirty years. This is going to end nastily… I’m sure of it. However, there’s one thing for certain… the OCA, as it stands today, won’t survive. You CAN bet the paycheque on that…

Metropolitan Jonas Paffhausen Tried to Circumvent the Decision of the OCA Holy Synod Concerning His Departure on Leave

Editor’s Foreword:

Some of this material is repetitious (much of it being a cut-and-paste from Stokoe translated into Russian), but you need a complete picture in order to make a sound decision (that is, you must be aware of what’s being reported where). Remember, be VERY wary of Stokoe… he has ulterior and underhanded reasons for doing what he’s doing. He’s a former Syosset Chancery apparatchik who’s trying to regain office. Don’t forget what he did when he held office then, especially how he aided closeted homosexual bishops to evade the consequences of their escapades. Remember the Neon Chicken! Philosophically, the difference between him and El Gordo isn’t worth a tinker’s damn. They’re both autocephalist fanatics of the worst sort. That could be the basis of a future reconciliation between the two… “stranger” alliances have occurred. I’ve seen them, so have you. Mark Stokoe will suck up to anyone who gives him power… his actions concerning the payoff to Bobby K and his lack of a real reaction to Piggy Iggy’s “loss” of diocesan financial records should prove that to all comers.

Beware all autocephalists in general (they bow before ADS… not the Lord Christ), but especially beware Mark Stokoe… he’s an Old Syosset Hand… with all that title implies.

Orthodox Christians for Accountability, a website edited by Mark Stokoe, published a detailed story titled Jonah Pushes Back on how Metropolitan Jonas Paffhausen, the First Hierarch of the OCA, tried to circumvent the decision of the OCA Holy Synod to send him on a two-month leave.

He left with a cell attendant from Santa Fe NM, where the meeting of the OCA Holy Synod took place, Metropolitan Jonas didn’t go to the monastery where the Synod advised him to go, rather, he went to OCA headquarters in New York, where he managed to convince the Secretary of the OCA Synod of Bishops, Bishop Tikhon Mollard, to remove the word “leave” (отпуск) from the official message. Then, Jonas went to Washington DC from New York, where he delivered a speech at the Sunday liturgy, denying that the decision of the OCA Holy Synod placed him on a leave of absence, and insisted that he remains the valid First Hierarch of the OCA Primate. Immediately afterwards, he had video and text messages posted on the Internet, and blogs and the media picked them up, particularly in Russia. After doing that, Metropolitan Jonas sent the OCA bishops a letter in which he notified them of his decision to postpone the March meeting of the Metropolitan Council and OCA Holy Synod. On Sunday afternoon, Metropolitan flew back to New York for a meeting with Metropolitan Kryštof Pulec of Czechia and Slovakia, who was there to receive an honorary doctorate from St Vladimir’s Seminary (SVS). At a reception at the residence of Metropolitan Hilarion Kapral (ROCOR), Metropolitan Kryštof invited Metropolitan Jonas to come on an official visit to Czechia. On the following day, Metropolitan Jonas attended the official reception for Metropolitan Kryštof at SVS, despite the OCA Holy Synod’s decision that he not participate in OCA official events during his leave (отпуска).

According to Mark Stokoe’s account, Metropolitan Jonah enlisted the support of influential friends in Moscow. Patriarchia.ru, the official MP website, didn’t post the official press release of the OCA Holy Synod of the OCA, but instead put up the sermon of Metropolitan Jonas at the Washington DC cathedral. Mark Stokoe, referring to Moscow sources, related that the website Pravmir.ru published both texts; subsequently, Metropolitan Hilarion Alfeyev, the chairman of the MP DECR, tried to pressure it [to take down the Holy Synod version]. Metropolitan Hilarion proposed to members of the OCA Holy Synod that he should come to the USA for urgent talks. The OCA Synod rejected Alfeyev’s proposal, and sent him a letter of explanation regarding the developments in the OCA. They sent a similar letter to Constantinople.

http://www.portal-credo.ru/site/?act=news&id=82736

Editor’s Afterword:

Let me begin by stating that “bad” people don’t cause most of the evil that I’ve seen in the world… “weak” people cause most of the crook situations afoot in the world. Such was the case here. Tikhon Mollard played the craven during the crisis over Herman, and he did so again. This weak reed caved into Moby Jonas’ demands. He should have stood his ground and tossed the contumacious bastard out of his office, immediately sent out an e-mail to the other bishops, and posted Fathausen’s escapade on the internet, to inform the faithful of what had occurred, and to deter El Gordo from ever trying such a stunt again.

Secondly, Moby doesn’t have much support in Moscow. The last time that anything appeared on patriarchia.ru on this situation was on Tuesday 1 March, and everything that surfaced on that site came from the Blunder’s dezinformatsiya mill, it didn’t come from the official MP communications service. To compound matters, Dickie Wood (Archimandrite Zacchaeus) was in the USA, not in Moscow, which meant that the OCA “diplomat” to the MP was MIA at a critical juncture (Stokoe didn’t tell you this). El Gordo got no support from Vsevolod Anatolyevich or Mark Anatolyevich. NONE. THIS IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT. These two men are the closest advisors and confidants to His Nibs. There’s NO one closer than they are. This means that KMG doesn’t “support” El Gordo. All talk of that is specious BS from Moby and from the Blunder in Bolshaya Ordynka.

However, the crisis that’s now upon us is mainly due to the utter cowardice and supine fear of Tikhon Mollard. As I always say, you should fear weak people more than bad people. Bad people wouldn’t get their way if weak people didn’t cave in before their threats (“Evil triumphs because good people did nothing”). Note well that Stokoe didn’t denounce Mollard’s gutless and pusillanimous duplicity and relate it to his previous actions in the Herman crisis (you see, Stokoe got his coveted MC seat; ergo, anything that led to that outcome was GOOD). THAT speaks volumes…
