Do not react, do not resent, keep inner stillness.

Note this comment to the above vacuous pseudo-post:
Don’t react, like ocanews did; don’t resent like VFR did and does, and keep inner stillness, i.e., away from the public running around from event to event a la Acton. Nice.

Before we go any further, here’s a definition of “resentment”:
Resentment is the experience of a negative emotion (anger or hatred, for instance) felt as a result of a real or imagined wrong done. Etymologically, the word originates from French “ressentir”, “re-“, intensive prefix, and “sentir”, ”to feel”; from the Latin “sentire”. The English word has become synonymous with anger, spite, and bitterness.
Let’s not go into “resentment” just yet. Let’s look at Owen’s asinine assertion. This is typical cockamamie konvertsy pabulum, as handed out to them by their crackbrained pseudo-guru “elders”. I don’t “resent” anyone… that’s a childish emotion. I report what’s out there… without any hyperclericalist gloss and pseudo-piety. Owen White is chock fulla beans… not to mention something a bit more PUNGENT. It absolutely reeks of spiritual immaturity and general lack of experience in life. Note well that this comes from a person who thinks jumped-up recent converts like Oliver Herbel to be experts on Church affairs. Nevertheless, it does tell us where the konvertsy stand, and that’s a good thing. These uninformed children think that they can monopolise the discussion on Church issues. I’d observe that none of them has the knowledge or maturity to issue forth an opinion on mud pies, let alone convoluted questions of institutional Church practise and history (I’d also exclude them from discussions on good beer, poker, fine art, down n’ dirty diners, and childrearing, as well).
Look at the profile of “David B”:

About Me
I’m a husband, a daddy, a former high school Spanish teacher, and a reader/seminarian in the Eastern Orthodox Church. Here you can read the thoughts of someone who’s trying to cooperate with God to live life both as Eucharist… that is, as one thankfully being transfigured by and for God… and as Icon… that is, as an ever-clearing window that bears witness to God’s union with man. Thanks for stoppin’ by.
Your superpower is that you smell like dandelions whenever someone lies. How will you maintain your secret identity?
Work as a florist on Capitol Hill.
I made none of this up. Truly… it’s what the bugger actually wrote. This is a typical profile of a konvert… they really do spew forth such vacuous rubbish… and expect us to swallow it whole, without comment or demur. Such people have no connection to the Real Church… when they leave us to follow JP, it won’t affect those of us who shall remain loyal to Christ’s Church. The Church is what it is… full stop. The institutional Church isn’t perfect, it never was, and it never shall be. That’s why all Orthodox Christians, not merely clerics, are called upon to defend the Church whenever it’s under attack. Do bear in mind that not all enemies of the Church are unbelievers… some are in our midst.
I’d point up that Paffhausen is in contempt of the OCA Holy Synod. In a REAL Local Church, the First Hierarch isn’t a “pope”… he’s a “chairman of the board”. In the MP (and all other legitimate Local Churches), the ultimate authority is the body of ruling bishops sitting en banc as the Archpastoral Council, not the Patriarch (thusly, the Council, not the Patriarch, deposed Diomid Dzyuban). Anyone who has any knowledge of actual Church practise knows this. Ergo, the OCA Holy Synod had the right to order JP to take a leave, without his consent, if necessary. In Orthodox practise, the Holy Synod, as a collection of ruling bishops, “outranks” the single bishop with the honorific of First Hierarch. Of course, the konvertsy don’t know this… and it fatally wounds all of their commentary.
Owen… the only thing that one can say to you is, “Why don’t you just shut up” (thank you, King Juan Carlos!). I’ll admit that long experience has made me cynical regarding all officeholders (not merely ecclesial ones), but “resentment”… I’m far from being bitter and spiteful… and, yes, one can be angered at evil. Owen White and David B are burying their heads in the sand… they’re typical Gnostic Konvertsy… all “spirituality”, and all “theology”. I’m rather more straightforward and to the point… remember the old saying, “They’re so heavenly minded that they’re no earthly good”. It applies here in spades.
It DOES take all kinds. Pass the jug, smile, and observe the mixed-together comedy and tragedy of l’condition humaine. This sinful-ginful world’s gonna chug along, no matter what Owen and David say. Our job is to see that the bastards don’t always win…

Editor’s Postscript:
A priest sent me the following:
It’s one of the oldest psychological tricks in the book… to patronise and condescend:
“They’re resentful because they’re jealous. Therefore, I can ignore what (the truths and experience) they’re saying. As for me, I’m holy, I have an exalted mind and transfigured heart, I understand everything, I’m always right, and I don’t need the (inconvenient) truth”.
It just shows how deep these people are into prelest/self-delusion.
No commentary is necessary… keep on keepin’ on, Batiushka!
