Read this POS rationalisation (you can do it… I did):

Well, the money spent on this shill posing as a journalist by the Corporate Media was money well spent… in the sense that he turned out a seemingly plausible piece of lying propaganda in the face of a smashing Tea Party defeat (it’s Newspeak of the highest order). Firstly, the TPers got less than 40 percent of the spending cuts that they originally demanded. That’s not “Republican conservatives were the chief winners in the budget deal that forced Democrats to accept historic spending cuts they strongly opposed”. I’d like to know what Mr Babington is smoking… it’s obviously kick-ass weed. Secondly, the most important thing for the GOP Corporate thugs wasn’t the spending cuts, it was were gutting the EPA and knifing Planned Parenthood… they failed utterly on both issues.
Let’s see… the TPers got less than 40 percent of the cuts that they originally called for; they failed to do ANY damage to the EPA or to Planned Parenthood’s federal funding. In return, President Obama threw them a sop… an end to federal funding for abortion services in the District (not a large item, kids). In anyone’s book, that’s an utter fiasco. This is the BEST that the squalling Tea Party extremists could do… as time passes, more and more rational people are hip to the fact that the TPers are nothing but well-paid “made men” for corporate interests. Support for the Tea Party has been flat for the past year… at about 30 percent… it’s not going to get any better. The Tea Party, in many ways, is nothing but the political expression of Radical Sectarianism (two-thirds of all teabaggers are so-called “Evangelicals” and Mormons), therefore, its appeal is confined to a limited (and geographically localised) segment of the population.
The TPers have never made any inroads into the Pacific Rim or in the Northeast… especially not in the leading conurbations of Greater New York and Greater Los Angeles, nor in Greater Chicago, for that matter. Rahm Emmanuel just won election as mayor in Chicago, after all. If that isn’t a ringing repudiation of all the lunacies spouted by Rush Limboob and Lil’ Mizz Sarah, then, I don’t know what it is! These three CMSAs have about 50 million inhabitants, that is, one in six Americans. That means that the Tea Party starts out with the three most powerful and influential urban areas in the country against them… with this strong base in opposition to rightwing delusions, it’ll be almost impossible for the GOP to win in 2012.
You see, they failed to deliver on any of their threatened policy changes this year. As the Tea Party is an extremist faction, the GOP will be forced to issue even more extreme blustering concerning the 2012 budget… and be just as unable to deliver the goods when it comes time for another mano à mano with Obama and Reid. This time, Obama took down Boehner three falls out of three. Boehner had to cut the size of the proposed budget reduction by more than one-half, Boehner couldn’t make any changes in the EPA, and Boehner failed to cut off federal funds to Planned Parenthood (which hasn’t spent a penny of federal money on abortion services since the Hyde Amendment in ‘76, in any case). In short, a thorough and embarrassing defeat for the GOP… I expect to see more spin on this in the coming weeks.
Don’t forget… Boehner LOST on all three of his proposed points, and lost badly. Break out the bubbly… the GOP won’t be able to afford too many more such “victories”, shall it? Sanity will prevail in the end, I’m sure…
