This place is a place of hope, because a very large number of patients leave after having been healed. We don’t know why the Lord takes us through such grief, but they’re in a great place, staffed by dedicated doctors, and they do whatever they can in order to see to it that their young patients recover as quickly as possible, in order to give their fathers and mothers peace of mind.
Contact with those who suffer can’t help but transform normal people. Priests must constantly face the suffering of others, so as not to close their eyes to reality, so as not to blunt their moral sense. However, it’s not only a necessity for priests, it’s necessary for all of us. That’s why there was a great Christian tradition to visit and help the sick, prisoners, and homeless during the holidays. I’m glad that in our Church, in our country, we’re reviving this tradition.

THIS is the face of “socialised medicine”… not bad, is it? The Church is on record as supporting healthcare justice, His Holiness Kirill supports that… His Holiness Bartholomew supports that… all of the First Hierarchs of the legit Local Churches support that. Paffhausen doesn’t… he (and other clergy who back the rightwing nutters) supports the greedy and grasping Republican position that we must continue to enrich insurance companies, lazy “investors”, and shyster lawyers at the expense of the public (and its health). One of these things is NOT like the other…
