Editor’s Foreword:

I must admit that I was feeling a bit poorly and “off” yesterday (not sick, but a little “crumbly”). Therefore, I rested (and we did take a lovely little motor in the direction of Pittsfield MA). It’s definitely “wounded autumn” as we Russians say… the earth is readying itself for winter… and there was some snow accumulation as we passed through the Berkshires. I love living in an area with “seasons”… the winter doesn’t bother me in the least, it’s what’s there, and that’s that. Now, I feel up to writing again… part of my “unease” was due to being “written out”… all of you who write regularly know the feeling. There’s NOTHING there to tap… so, it’s best not to make a fool of one’s self. As for Great October

October Ushered in a New Era in Human History

I greet you on the holiday celebrating the Great October. This isn’t just a holiday; it opened a new era for mankind! The stresses of the First World War collapsed the Russian Empire. However, through the determination of Lenin and the Bolshevik Party, the country united in a single federal state, and, in a few years, it overcame that breakdown and was able to become the greatest power on earth. Today, we celebrate not only the 94th anniversary of the Great October, but also the 70th anniversary of the glorious parade that took place on 7 November 1941 as ordered by Iosif Stalin in Moscow, Voronezh, and Kuibyshev. On Red Square, our fighting forces assembled; they’d been formed over the past two decades under the influence of the Great October.

Today, at the parade, we saw inspired examples of the Soviet technology of 70 years ago; it was the best in the world. In Red Square this year, there were two parades, on 9 May and 7 November. However, not a single new piece of equipment from the power that reigned in Russia for the last 20 years participated. They were all Soviet products, created by Soviet designers, and produced by Soviet workers. No representatives of the government or the Kremlin showed up at today’s parade. Our younger generation has demonstrated that it’s ready to go the way of their grandfathers and great-grandfathers… who were victors. However, on Red Square, no one said that it was a parade in honour of the Soviet Union, that it was in honour of a parade ordered by Generalissimo Stalin, or that it was a parade in honour of Great October. That half-truth has struck the whole country, and it oozed out of every TV screen. I think the biggest disgrace of the powers-that-be is that they not only tried to appropriate the Great October and the Great Victory, but they tried to form a new generation in their image. However, I assure you… none of it’s going to work! Today, thousands of young boys and girls come to the Pioneers and the Komsomol. We issued an appeal in the name of Lenin and Stalin, and 30,000 young people responded.

The Great Soviet Union

20 Years of Betrayal

The perfidious politics of the last 20 years led to great upheaval and loss. Over the years, our country has lost 15 million people, 14.5 million of whom are Russian. Entire industries lie in ruins, over 70,000 enterprises. Almost 50,000 collective farms, more than 40 million hectares of land, lie broken and overgrown with weeds and thistles. The West castigated the Bolsheviks when they exiled some talented philosophers and scientists. Yet, the policies of the current régime, over the past twenty years, forced abroad some 1.25 million of our most talented, trained, and educated scientists. However, that era’s already done, and it’ll end soon. Above all, it’s obvious that the same kind of crisis that led to the murder of the Soviet Union and the betrayal of the ideas of Great October and the Great Victory 20 years ago has now overtaken world capitalism, beginning in its firmest stronghold… on Wall Street in New York. This crisis has plunged 200 countries into the abyss. If the Bolshevik Party saved the Soviet Union before the World War, today, it pulls Communist China out of the pit, demonstrating high rates of economic growth and steady management in crisis conditions. Until recently, Europe’s vaunted rich dictated their own terms, but they can’t patch the hole in the Greek financial crisis, a small country of only 10 million people. That’s not to count the more than 500 billion dollars (15.15 trillion Roubles. 360 billion Euros. 310 billion UK Pounds) in debt in Portugal, and a debt an order of magnitude more in Italy. This means that global capitalism, which the Americans built 50 years ago as a speculative pyramid, has collapsed, and they won’t be able to save any of it.

The World on the Threshold of Changes

I’m sure that another era is on its way… an era of updated ideas about the Great October, a renewal of socialism; it’ll be an epoch of peace, which will uphold labour, justice, and human dignity. Right now, we’ve prepared a programme to bring our country out of crisis. Only a few specific proposals lie at the core of it. Messrs Putin and Medvedev have socked away the proceeds from the sale of our national wealth in overseas investments. We have the money, more than 500 billion dollars (15.15 trillion Roubles. 360 billion Euros. 310 billion UK Pounds), to invest in our industry, agriculture, science, and human development, to support our education. Nobody gives out loans today. There’s no money to spare anywhere. However, we still have enormous resources left over from the Soviet times. That is, our extensive mineral resources, our great mining industry, our military-industrial complex, and our up to the mark engineers and workers, who developed technology that we could use both for military and civilian purposes. This is a part of our great history. If we base our economy on these four pillars, we can confidently look to the future. It’s a big lie to say that we don’t have any money. We have plenty of money, but oligarchs and financial speculators have their hands on it. If we invest these funds into the economy, we’ll create an additional 20 million jobs with an average salary for the next three years of more than 20,000 roubles (661 USD. 477 Euros. 410 UK Pounds) {monthly figure?: editor}. We’ll double pensions, increase scholarships three-fold, and provide decent pay for state employees such as teachers, doctors, and soldiers, and provide them with the best possible equipment. Nonetheless, for this to happen, it requires that the government must be in the hands of those who honour the People’s Welfare (Народного доверия).

The Budget Debt Pit

Today, I want to challenge the United Russia Party officially. Mr Putin, how’re you going to get us out of the crisis, when your budget has a pit of debt and a cushion for the oligarchs? Why did you only allocate about 1 percent of the budget to the villages, when the USA gave 25 percent of their funds and Europe gave a third? Why is there nothing in your budget for the development of our civil aviation? This year, our airlines received 8 new Russian aircraft, but 8 crashed with the loss of life. Today, you’ve allocated nearly 90 billion roubles (2.98 billion USD. 2.15 billion Euros. 1.85 billion UK Pounds) to the space programme, but we racked up nearly 30 failures, in so-called false starts and technical problems with our rockets and satellites. If we’d invested in equipment, in instrumentation, and in electronics, we’d have reliable equipment; we’d continue the great work of Korolyov and Gagarin, the 50th anniversary of whose flight we celebrated this year. If we’d have put the money into education, we could guarantee every young person a job. I’d like to ask Mr Putin why he keeps Education Minister Fursenko, when 1.8 million people graduated from universities and technical schools over the last two years, but every job opening had 17 applicants? There is nothing of this in the three-year budget that United Russia just approved on the first reading. They continue to pump up the moneybags of the oligarchs, they continue to share the boodle, and they’re still not doing anything to build up our state.

Our Team are True Patriots

Our program is realistic, for our team includes those who both love our country and successfully realised its potential in the current environment. Our team includes Nobel Prize winner Zhores Alferov, who helped develop programmes to support science and education, ensuring young people free education up to the university level. Our team includes two of my deputies, Ivan Melnikov and Vladimir Kashin, who’re world-renowned scientists, who could lead the government and work much better than the current capitalist ministers could. Admiral Vladimir Komoyedov’s {former commander of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, 1998-2002: editor} on our team, he’s one of the best commanders in the fleet, an excellent Russian military leader; compared to him, the current Defence Minister, Serdyukov, is a jerk. Our team has talented managers such as Sergei Sobko and Vadim Kumin, who’ve prepared a development programme for the engineering industries. We have skilled agronomists such as Vasili Starodubtsev and Nikolai Kharitonov. They’ve prepared a programme for the revival of village life, based on parity prices and the upgrading of agricultural machinery. In all, we have nearly 600 experienced and knowledgeable people on our team. However, at the same time, many of them are young people. For example, there’s Yuri Afonin, the head of the Komsomol movement, or take Taysaev Kazbek, who knows the Caucasus inside-and-out, who’s now working for us in this sensitive region. Our team includes Dmitri Novikov and Aleksei Kornienko, who lead the fight in the Far East. Our team is both communists and non-party people, but all of them are true patriots.

We’re faithful to the Great October banner… we’re heirs of the warriors that won the Great Victory. Long live Great October! Victory will be ours!

Editor’s Afterword:

My views have evolved over the past four years. My deepening friendships with believers in the Rodina have led me to look at my own views critically. The majority of committed believers in the homeland want a return of the Soviet Union in some form or another (not an exact replica of the pre-1991 USSR, but a close analogue). As an MP priest wrote to me, “The main mistake that the communists made was persecuting the Church”. Believers in Russia hate what they label “Liberalism“… that is, Western Neoliberal Libertarian Nihilism, and its ugly step-sister, Laissez-faire Free Market Capitalism (the Christian Right is just a “religious” manifestation of this demonic ideology). When Russian believers use “Liberal”, they mean “Conservative” in Anglosphere terms!

In the Nasty Nineties, the Church and the Party made common cause against American-funded and -led attempts to destabilise the Russian space so that Western interests could steal Russia’s wealth and squeeze Russians just as they oppressed Western workers (they did so in the Ukraine, sadly enough, using members of the Galician Uniate diaspora as their entering wedge). Let’s be frank, the “Occupy” Movement is a direct response to the vicious and unrestrained class warfare waged by the rich and their running-dog minions against the rest of us. I’m not talking unfounded drivel here. The Komsomoletsy defended the canonical churches; they protected the real bishops from harm by American-funded interests. In turn, the Church forgave the Party, for the Party, by its actions, showed that it repented of its previous actions against the Church. A new “Eurasian Union” is arising on the former Soviet space. It’ll combine the best of the White and Red, of the Party and the Church, of East and West, of Asia and Europe, and of Christianity and Islam. It’ll become the main rival of godless Sectarian America. May God bless such a Union and give it prosperity… as for America and its noxious conceits… the less said, the better.

A note to Orthodox readers:

You should note that the faction coalesced around Paffhausen and Potapov (which includes elements from the OCA, ROCOR, and AOCANA) stands against the Eurasian Union and the Church in the homeland (it’s allied to the Blunder, the only major pro-Western hierarch in the MP). This cabal has sold out to the most extreme rightwing faction in the Republican Party, as is shown by Potapov’s open ties to Langley (through the BBG) and Lyonyo’s more covert ties (through the CFR). Do note that not only does this group believe in goofball politics, they also believe in a fantasy known as “Pan-Orthodoxy” (the definition of that changes weekly… don’t try to keep up with it). I don’t believe in “black helicopters“, conspiracy theories, or Trilateral Commission plots… I do believe in following the ties that an individual has. Potapov’s tied to an organisation linked to Langley, and Lyonyo’s tied to another with intimate links to the most feral part of the “Inside the Beltway” set. There’s no conspiracy whatsoever, simply a cabal of like-minded individuals banded together to push their crackbrained agenda. I rest my case. You can support our co-religionists or you can support those who hate the Rodina and try to weaken it (and the Church). It’s up to you…
