There are no graphs available for Monomakhos.com. Click here for the proof (as of 18.30 EDT Tuesday 15 May 2012). Click here for verification of oca.org data and here for Voices data. All of the above tables are “old-style” graphs (I couldn’t download the “new-style”). Click on the links provided and you’ll learn a great deal about the audience to this site, and about oca.org… Monomakhos is so obscure that no data’s available… it’s one of those sites with a fanatic nutjob following… most of ‘em log on more than once daily, which often gives the Nutty Squirrel set impressive numbers of “hits”, “page-views”, and “page-loads” on miniscule “readerships”. It isn’t unusual for such sites to have over 100,000 hits a month… with less than 2,000 “readers”. Accept NO figures that lack documentation from solid third-party neutral sites. I’ve no need of boasting… I’ll simply say, click on the links, they’ll tell you the story better than I can… Lector Si Monumentum Requiris… Circumspice… Reader, if you require a memorial… look about you.

In short, I challenge ANY of the pukes bloviating on Monomakhos to PROVE that they’ve done a fraction of what I’ve done. I’ll confide that all you’ll hear is deafening silence. As Our Lord Christ said:

Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up. Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

Gospel According to St Matthew 15.13-14

‘Nuff said. As for my friends reading this, thanks for the support… you know who you are… as for my enemies, I’ll see you in the arena… armed and ready. As always, DEMAND that your interlocutor give their identity… otherwise, if you’re wise and prudent, you’ll disbelieve everything that issues from them. I call that fair… and so does Vsevolod Anatolyevich.

15 May 2012. The People at Monomakhos Should Learn to Read Before Commenting…

A smarkach on Monomakhos with the “username” Nikos attacked me for naming Perich instead of Jannakos as DC Dean… actually, I reported Jannakos as the prospective Dean first, then, received reports that Perich was going there “to prepare the way” for him. Obviously, “Nikos”, whoever they really are, didn’t read the first post that I put up! This gives all and sundry a good indication of the level of sophistication, care, and assiduousness of the posters on this questionable (at best, and speaking charitably) site. Actually, I think that the “Nikos” wanted to make a personal snide comment about me… in which case, the fact that they hid behind a username was cowardly and “below the salt”. This submission, like all of mine, goes out over my initials (or full name).

There be plenty of poseurs and gaping jackanapes out there. If they hide behind usernames, what does that tell you about them? I needn’t go any further, need I? Have a cleansing laugh, cross yourself, and pass the jug. There’s no shortage of arseholes out there… and it’s not going to get any better in the short term. Be good, kids… and, frankly, why trust a site that’s nothing but a bunch of opinionated blozos (they do NONE of the serious reporting that’s done here)? In any case, Monomakhos only attracts less than 5 percent of my readership… for good reason, there’s NEVER anything of substance there. There be boogeymen out there… they’re not dangerous, but they DO make much noise. Do bite the coin…

“Buranovskie Babushki” Wow Journalists in Baku

______________________________

Even before they arrived in Baku, the “Buranovskie Babushki” aroused interest amongst the fans of the Eurovision Song Contest. However, after the first rehearsal, when journalists saw the live performance of the Russian group, the excitement increased. It’s traditional for the journalists to take an informal poll amongst themselves daily at the press centre, in the latest vote, Russia ranked first. Not only the sheer numbers testify to the favourite… the journalists like to hum the Babushki’s song Party for Everybody, and many use it as their ring tone.

Meanwhile, according to their spokesman, Svetlana Syrygina, the Babas did a commercial for soft drinks for TV, in order to earn money to build a church in their native village. Syrygina said, “The ad with the Buranovskie Babushki will air during May and June, the TV will carry it during the contest. Besides that, the Babushki will appear on the bottle label, with a number given so that people can make a call to vote for them”. The Babas did the commercial in late April, shortly before they went to Baku for the ESC finals. The video is funny and a bit self-deprecating… the Babas ride around in a limo, act as DJs, and dance with actors in chicken suits to their hit Party for Everybody. Syrygina said that they wouldn’t publicise the fee for the ad, but that all the money earned from it will go to help build a church in their home village of Buranovo. The Buranovskie Babushki emphasise strongly that the only reason that they perform on stage and participate in contests is so they can help their local parish.

15 May 2012. A Point to Ponder…

We DO have a choice. We can choose to follow the path of private gain or we can choose to follow a path of common cooperation. These paths are NOT compatible. You can’t be on both paths at the same time, just as you can’t be in two places at once. Any time that you hear someone gassing about “individualism”, it’s usually an apologia for economic anarchy… an excuse for the strong preying on those less powerful than they are.

His Holiness is friends with Fidel Castro Ruz and Gennady Zyuganov… Paffhausen pals around Hard Right Republicans. I’d say that one of these things is NOT like the other! If we’re Christians, one thing IS clear. We should worship Christ, NOT Mammon… someone should tell all the rigthtwing konvertsy that. Remember, Our Lord Christ suffered death on the cross for OPPOSING the dishonesty and greed of the powers-that-be, especially the high priest and his party. Meaty reflection, no? Oh, yes… there ARE analogues of Caiphas about in today’s Church… do have a care…

Attempt to Form New Greek Government Collapses… President Papoulias to Call New Elections

______________________________

Political leaders who participated in a meeting with Greek President Karolos Papoulias said that talks on forming a new government in Greece collapsed. Fotis Kouvelis, the head of Democratic Left, told reporters as he was leaving a meeting at the presidential palace, “It’s over”. For his part, Panos Kammenos, the head of the National conservative Independent Greeks, said that the parties that support the EU/IMF loan agreement couldn’t come to an agreement on the establishment of a new government, saying, “They prefer favouring the creditors to having a government… we’ll have new elections”.

If President Papoulias decides that there’s no possibility of forming a government, he’ll declare early elections for June. The 6 May election gave no single party a majority, and the blocs involved were unable to form a coalition. The Greek government pledged to carry out tough spending cuts; in return, it’d receive billions in loans from the EU and IMF. In the event that the Greek government defaulted on its debts, Greece would lose its membership in the Eurozone.

“The productive (rich) people get all the gain…” yep, that’s what you hear from Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, and all the rest of the rapacious Republican crew… what they don’t tell you is, “the working and salaried people get all the pain”. That’s right… “gain is privatised… pain is socialised”… the poor babies in the McMansions can’t be inconvenienced, can they?

_____________________________

On Tuesday, the head of state administration stated that, in accordance with the Greek constitution, Greek President Karolos Papoulias would appoint a so-called “caretaker” government composed of senior civil servants on Wednesday; it’s intended to administer Greece for 30 days before the new election. Political leaders will decide the composition of the transitional government at a meeting on Wednesday at 13.00 local time (14.00 MSK 11.00 UTC 06.00 EDT 03.00 PDT). Earlier, attempts to form a coalition government foundered, and President Papoulias decided to call for new early elections in June.

Also on Tuesday, Evangelos Venizelos, the leader of the centre-left PASOK said that talks to form a new government failed , saying, “The country going to hold a new election”. Venizelos noted that the elections would be held “under very bad conditions”. He accused the other parties of putting partisan interests ahead of the common good in refusing to form a coalition, saying, “It’s incumbent upon every Greek is to read the minutes of today’s meeting”. Leaders of five of the seven parliamentary parties attended today’s negotiations, which President Papoulias moderated. PASOK, which was triumphant in the 2009 election with almost 44 percent of the vote, score only 13 percent in the 6 May election, winning only 41 seats in the 300-seat parliament, much less than it did in past elections. Voters “punished” Venizelos and his party for unpopular cuts in wages and pensions .

According to the Greek constitution, an interim government has a non-partisan composition under the head of one of the three highest Greek jurists. Such a government has limited powers; its sole purpose is to hold new elections within a month. In the near term, Greece must take a number of important decisions. For that reason, the Greek government pledged to take measures in June to reduce the cuts of 11 billion Euros (430 billion Roubles. 14.1 billion USD. 8.8 billion UK Pounds) due to meet the target agreed upon with its creditors to reduce the budget deficit. In addition, Greece needs to recapitalise local banks using funds from the EU funds and IMF.
