On 5 May, four kittens were born to the lynx family of Vasilisa and Vasili in the Sadgorod (Garden Town) Zoo in Vladivostok. The sex of the kittens is still unknown because Vasilisa hasn’t allowed anyone to get near the newborns.

Lynx only have kittens once a year, in the spring.

Last year, Vasilisa gave birth to four kittens, two males, and two females. All of them survived.

For now, the young are feeding on milk; later, zookeepers will begin feeding them meat.

Both parents help bring up the kittens.

Whilst Vasilisa rests, Vasili protects the young.
