This is at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in the Old City of Jerusalem, in the portion set aside for Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo believers. Eastern Orthodox, Armenian Apostolic, Roman Catholic, Coptic Orthodox, Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo, and Syriac Orthodox believers all have their places here. These groups are all indisputably Christian. As for all others, my belief is that Reformation Protestants, whether “high” Lutheran/Reformed Evangelicals or “low” Mennonite/(non-SBC) Baptists, are also within the boundaries of Christendom. American Sectarians are NOT… that is, “Evangelicals“, JWs, Mormons, and Pentecostalists aren’t really Christian, in the truest sense of the word. Think on it… after all, what REAL Christian would put credence in a notional Book of Mormon or in “giving your heart to Jayzuss?” Our Lord Christ existed… and the facts of his life and teaching don’t jibe with American Sectarianism.
Pray for such people… they know not what they do. On the other hand, this Ethiopian Orthodox woman does know… can’t you tell?
