28 June 2012. A Point to Ponder… When Cant Replaces the Truth…

______________________________

Cant is empty hypocritical talk without any actual substance to it. That is, it’s the typical utterance of Paffhausen. He can make all the flowery speeches in the world, but when he refuses to stand up for one of his priests, and allows him to be savaged in public by a disgraced clergyman… I say that’s a textbook definition of empty and hypocritical ACTION. Beware all big talkers… and be doubly wary of all those who claim the moral high ground. I do NOT… but JP does. He’s letting Fr Mike swing in the wind… that’s proof enough for me. I’ve never seen such EVIL in all my six decades, NEVER.

Christ is betrayed yet again… why is it always priests who’re the most spectacularly wicked of the lot? It does make one wonder about anti-clericalism (at least, one can see why people hold it).

Fr Michael Regan posted the following on the Orthodox Forum:

As some of you are aware, Fr Raymond Velencia has brought suit against a number of Orthodox. Unfortunately, he has included myself as a moderator in his suit, because of an alleged post on the Forum. Equally unfortunately, as a parish priest, I can’t afford legal counsel, and trying to attempt a propria persona (“for myself”) defence isn’t working. Is anyone aware of an attorney who might take on my defence pro bono?

Fr Michael Regan

******

This is an abomination! This is disgusting and reprehensible! Paffhausen just sits back and does NOTHING. Fr Mike writhes on the cross, and JP doesn’t give a good god-damn. If JP made a public statement, it’d stop RV in his tracks… and RV knows it. Yet, JP remains supine and mute. Oh… he can hobnob with the lowest sort of “Continuing Anglicans”, but he doesn’t have the moxie to stand up for one of his priests.

If this isn’t proof that Fathausen is “round the bend” and totally unfit to lead anything… well, there’s nothing that I can say to you. A suspended priest sues a priest in good standing, and the First Hierarch does nothing. He doesn’t even issue a statement saying, “I support Fr Michael Regan absolutely… Mr Velencia is a suspended clergyman without grounds to sue a clergyman in good standing”. That would kill RV’s suit immediately and totally. It’s what Metropolitan Leonty Turkevich would’ve done. It’s what Metropolitan Laurus Škurla would’ve done. It’s what Archbishop Antony Bartoshevich would’ve done. It’s what Metropolitan Iriney Bekish would’ve done.  However, Paffhausen does NOTHING. NOTHING.

One of our priests has to crawl on his belly in public because a suspended clergyman sued him in court. This is unthinkable… this is unconscionable. I’ll be frank… Michael Regan was part of Tikhon Fitzgerald’s apparat… I don’t see him as being fully trustworthy. Yet… he’s being attacked unfairly and his bishop (Benjamin Peterson) and the OCA First Hierarch (JP) do nothing. They could end it all with simple statements on their official websites. Trust me, that would stop RV like a brick wall. As I often say, I’ll stand up for anyone getting the Royal Red Rooster… I know what it feels like… I’ve felt the lash on my back, and, by God, if I can interpose myself, I will.

Reflect on this… JP refuses to stand up for one of his priests. Benjamin Peterson refuses to stand up for one of his priests. The OCA Holy Synod refuses to stand up for one of its priests. If any bishop went in front of the court and said, “Mr Velencia was suspended from the priesthood for good cause; he didn’t go through Church channels before making his suit. Therefore, we disassociate the OCA from this suit, we disassociate the OCA from Mr Velencia, and we condemn his taking this matter to a court of law”… that would end this whole charade. Yet, they REFUSE to do anything.

This is proof of rot and degeneracy. Fathausen runs about spouting off about homosexuality. Well… I’d say that the proof is in what he does. He screams about morality, but he allows one of his priests to be sued… that led to that priest humiliating himself in public to no good end. RV’s creaming his jeans over that, no doubt. You see, JP’s pal Brum wrote the so-called “Brum Doctrine” that states that the First Hierarch is a tinhorn dictator who answers to no one. He has more power than the Pope of Rome does according to Brum (a former RC priest with no real Orthodox formation).

Aid Fr Mike, if you can. If JP gets away with this, no priest is safe. No one. Wer wird sein Bennigsen? It HAS come to that point…

NB:

My question in re Bennigsen is metaphorical not literal (of course… but in today’s litigious age, one can’t be too sure)… no, we don’t need (or want) JP dead. However, we do need him out, and someone’s got to have the sand in their craw to do it.

Outgoing US President George W Bush said that he’s very sorry for the mess he’s leaving behind. He regretted the failure of American intelligence in Iraq and admitted that Barack Obama won the presidential election largely because voters rejected Republican policy. Nevertheless, he said that he’s leaving the White House proudly, with his head held high, and hopes to go down in history as the liberator of millions and a champion of peace.

S&P Upgrades Russia’s Rating

______________________________

International financial market analyst Standard & Poor’s upgraded Russia’s short-term rating by one point. Now, Russia’s rating with the agency is A2. This means that it’ll now be easier for Russian borrowers… most of all, banks… to attract loans from international creditors. Analysts say that the main reason that Russia gained this is due to its government’s effective economic policy. Of course, it’d be wrong to say that there aren’t any economic problems in Russia today. However, the rating given to it by S&P means that against the background of other countries, the Russian economy is comparatively stable.

According to S&P’s calculations, the Russian budget deficit is comparatively low this year. Besides, the Russian state debt is now insignificant. Russian economist Mikhail Khazin thought, “The latter fact’s so noteworthy that we may view it as a good compensation for the many economic problems which still exist in Russia. At present, state debts are the biggest problem for many countries. In Russia, the situation with the sovereign debt is perfect… at least, from the formal point of view. However, we have some other problems. We have comparatively large corporate debts. Many Russians now owe large sums borrowed as consumer credits, but have difficulties paying them back because of low incomes. Nevertheless, in comparison with many other countries, the situation in Russia’s economy isn’t the worst”. To a certain extent, the fact that S&P uses new criteria in its estimations caused the uptick in Russia’s rating. However, one should note that, according to the same new criteria, S&P lowered the ratings of a number of European countries.

Russian economist Aleksei Krasavin noted, “The comparatively stable situation in the Russian economy is due to the well-balanced economic policy of the Russian government. This news is very inspiring, especially against the background of the global economic crisis… the more so because S&P hasn’t raised Russia’s rating for more than a year”. The Russian government is preparing for a possible worsening of the situation in the world economy. At present, Europe is expecting a double-dip economic recession. Recently, Minister of Finances Anton Siluanov said that if this recession takes place, the Russian government is ready to allocate up to 40 billion USD (1.33 trillion Roubles. 32.2 billion Euros. 25.8 billion UK Pounds) to support the country’s economy both this year and next year.
