Moments after the court released the 193-page ruling, several media outlets… including CNN and Fox News… erroneously reported on-air that the court had struck down the mandate. CNN’s on-screen scroll blared, “BREAKING NEWS: INDIVIDUAL MANDATE STRUCK DOWN. Supreme Court finds measure unconstitutional”. It was a “Dewey Defeats Truman” moment for the 21st Century, New York Times reporter Charlie Savage tweeted, pointing to a screengrab of CNN’s premature scroll.

Millions of Americans get their news from CNN and Fox, in particular. “Fair and balanced”… I don’t know about that, but this certainly shows that one can’t trust either side of the Corporate Media coin, can you? They’re all overpaid shills… I attend to neither CNN nor Fox, and I don’t think that any thinking person does, to be frank. My sources run the gamut from The Economist to RIA-Novosti to al Jazeera to Reuters to Nezavisimaya Gazeta. We’ll get the Russian take on the ruling later today, no doubt; then, I’ll get it up for you guys. Never boring is it? Is l’Comedie humaine or is it l’Tragedie humaine… or is it a little bit of both?
