A Nobel for Europa

Here, Yolkin mines ancient Greek mythology for a laugh. It’s a very famous image, The Abduction of Europa by Zeus. Many famous painters have used this theme… Yolkin adds a smartphone and a leering Zeus (he’s the bull; the dolphin is usually part of the traditional depiction). The Russian can be read as either “Europe” or “Europa”… I used the latter to make the link to the image obvious.

At a ceremony in Oslo, former Norwegian Prime Minister Thorbjørn Jagland, the Chairman of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, announced that the EU won the Nobel Peace Prize for 2012 for its work for the unification of Europe and its transformation of a “continent of wars into a continent of peace”.

Editor’s Note:
The EU is in the deep doo-doo… that’s the only reason that the Nobel Committee would award the Nobel Peace Prize to an organisation. The Western ruling élite is desperately trying to prop up the EU, which is fragmenting at its seams. Germany is being its domineering and arrogant self… that was the real reason for most of Europe hating and mistrusting it in the period of the Great European War (that’s World Wars I and II, kids). The EU was nothing more than a mechanism to integrate the European economies under German direction… that’s why it’s doomed to ultimate failure. If the Wehrmacht couldn’t hold together the Greater German economic space, well, the EU shall have no better luck.
This is good news for Eurosceptics. It does bring Russian dominance on the Continent closer (most Europeans prefer lax and lazy Russian dominion to over-exact and overbearing German control… what Orwell called “Eurasia” in Nineteen Eighty-Four), and it’ll drive Britain into a closer embrace of the Anglosphere (USA, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand… what Orwell called “Oceania“). Watch for Ireland to embrace the Continent, though… the Irish don’t see themselves as Anglos, even though they speak English.
