I offer my condolences to the state leadership and the citizens of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela on the death of President Hugo Rafael Chávez Frías. He was one of the most prominent political leaders of our time, he was a sincere patriot, and he made much effort to improve the living conditions of the Venezuelan people. Sr Chávez was widely known in the international community for his independent stance and principles. I warmly recall my meeting with the late President, held as part of my visit to Venezuela in October 2008. In the course of our dialogue, my companion proved to be a strong-willed politician, who attached great importance to the development of spiritual ties between nations. In this difficult and crucial moment, I send my sincere sympathies to the Venezuelan people, and I wish much strength and consolation to the family and friends of the deceased in their sorrow.
With sincere condolences

Do mark it down well that neither the OCA nor the ROCOR offered condolences on the death of President Chávez. That is, they posted nothing on their official websites. After all, the ROCOR has a bishop in Caracas, John Berzins. This smells like the malign influence of Potapov and his rightwing crowd. HH showed the way and the OCA and the ROCOR REFUSED to follow him, as there are members of both the OCA and ROCOR higher apparats who’ve sold out to the US government and its lies (mostly for a mess of pottage and/or (very) low seats at the “high table”).
These people are worthless poseurs and traitors who’ve sold out the Orthosphere in return for comfort and ease in American exurbia. You forget that at your peril…
