P-U! The RIA translator screwed up again! Британские ученые наблюдают за тобой isn’t Facebook “Likes” Reveal a Lot, Study Finds. The latter is a new title, it isn’t a translation of what Yolkin was trying to convey. Yolkin’s tongue-in-cheek raffishness is completely lost… and one CAN convey it in English. It’s one of Yolkin’s earthy and leering worldly-wise observations… the translator completely trashed it. I hope that they’re GONE… and soon…

British IT wonks have developed an algorithm that allows one to determine the sex, age, and other information about Facebook users who utilise the “like” function with uncanny accurately. That inspired this cartoon from Sergei Yolkin. What you like on Facebook says a lot about you and can even give away your secrets, according to a Cambridge University study published online. In the study, researchers revealed how they were able to guess accurately the gender, personality type, IQ, political views, and the sexual orientation of individuals based on what these 58,000 users of the popular social network decided to “like” on Facebook.

27 February 2013. “Slowpoke Rodriguez” oca.org Lives Up to Their Usual (Low) Standards

01 Slowpoke Rodríguez

______________________________

It’s all over the internet… Metropolitan Iosif Bosakov is leaving New York for Bulgaria. I read the news last night. Does oca.org mention it at all? OF COURSE, NOT! Why, if that did that, it’d mean that they were attending to their duties (for a change). American church news is part of their “beat”, yet they act as though it didn’t happen. I think that all items posted have to pass censorship from Lyonyo, Jillions, and Dahulich. Ergo, news doesn’t get up in a timely fashion, making the oca.org lot look incompetent and clueless (is Lil’ Mizz Ginny Nieuwsma still there? Perspirin’ minds wanna know). Things are getting worse, not better. Shall we have to drain the cup to the bitter dregs? I bloody well hope not…

26 February 2013. How the Cabinet Keeps Me From Steppin’ in Cowpats (and Worse)

00 Cow pie. 20.08.12 copy

THIS is Monomakhos. Tells you much about those who post there, no? Any questions?

______________________________

I got an unsolicited message from one Guy Westover on Google+; as I didn’t know of him in any way, I ran his name past my Cabinet:

Have you ever heard of a Guy Westover? He claims to be from Florida and a “cradle Orthodox Christian“. He’s trying to contact me via Goodgle+ to “talk about my blog“. I don’t like it. It smells like pro-Bobby to me. Have you heard of this jabronie? If not, I’ll delete it permanently (I don’t need trouble). My instinct is not to reply… he doesn’t smell on the “up and square”.

One of the Cabinet said:

Name means nothing to me. I checked the White Pages, found nine, but none in Florida.

However, I struck gold with another Cabinet member:

He’s one of the Morons on Monomahkos… If I were you I’d delete him.

To the first Cabinet member I wrote:

Thanks. Another one of the Cabinet did know him… a Monomoron puke. That’s why I treasure you guys. I DON’T know everything. Keep on keepin’ on, dear…

Of course, I got good advice, and I followed it (I got enough grey hair and “scars” to smell the “rightness” of something). This teaches all of us a good and salutary lesson. By ourselves, we’re NOTHING. However, if we stick together, if we pool our knowledge and resources, we’ll do fine. That’s why there’s NO “me n’ Jayzuss”, as the Evangelical notion has it. That’s why we shouldn’t have anything to do with them, even in the context of the so-called “Pro-Life Movement“… their heresy is that corrosive and WRONG (that’s why James Paffhausen’s signature on the so-called Manhattan Declaration was a betrayal of Christ and His Church). We all need each other constantly, and that’s reality. You can’t argue with that…

Today, I sent on an e-mail attachment that a friend sent me to another friend. My invariable dictum on this is to advise everyone to remove all traces of any header or contact info from the e-mail before sending it on. You’d do well to do that. You don’t know with whom your addressee may share your e-mail with, so, the best policy is to remove all contact info… that preserves your friends’ confidentiality and privacy. I’ve received some e-mails from the Cabinet with contact info still on them… please, remove them! It’ll inculcate a good habit… you don’t know what other people might do (and some of the worst harms out there are done unwittingly, sadly enough).

Get rid of that contact info before sending it on! Sergeant Vara says so!
