The “Grumpy Сat” won the 17th Annual Webby Awards “Meme of the Year”. The award ceremony took place on 22 May. Internet users favoured Grumpy Cat over the Harlem Shake, Goats Yelling Like Humans, and Gangnam Style by voting on the BuzzFeed website. Tandar Sause, known as Internet sensation Grumpy Cat, became popular after her owner posted her picture on the social news website Reddit and then superimposed with humorous comments. The female cat has a permanently grumpy face due to feline dwarfism and an under bite. She and her brother Pokey were born to normal parents with a flat face, bubble eyes, and a short tail. Ironically, Grumpy Cat is calm and Pokey has a grumpy personality. “The Official Grumpy Cat” on Facebook has over 930,000 Likes. The organisers announced the other Webby winners on 30 April. Such websites as Change.org, Pinterest, Tumblr, Dropbox, and The Onion won multiple awards. A Webby is an award for excellence on the Internet. It began in 1995 and presented annually by The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences. Categories include websites, interactive advertising, online film and video, and mobile. The award is one of the older internet-oriented awards and is known as “The Oscars of the Internet”.

26 February 2013. How the Cabinet Keeps Me From Steppin’ in Cowpats (and Worse)

I got an unsolicited message from one Guy Westover on Google+; as I didn’t know of him in any way, I ran his name past my Cabinet:

Have you ever heard of a Guy Westover? He claims to be from Florida and a “cradle Orthodox Christian“. He’s trying to contact me via Goodgle+ to “talk about my blog“. I don’t like it. It smells like pro-Bobby to me. Have you heard of this jabronie? If not, I’ll delete it permanently (I don’t need trouble). My instinct is not to reply… he doesn’t smell on the “up and square”.

One of the Cabinet said:

Name means nothing to me. I checked the White Pages, found nine, but none in Florida.

However, I struck gold with another Cabinet member:

He’s one of the Morons on Monomahkos… If I were you I’d delete him.

To the first Cabinet member I wrote:

Thanks. Another one of the Cabinet did know him… a Monomoron puke. That’s why I treasure you guys. I DON’T know everything. Keep on keepin’ on, dear…

Of course, I got good advice, and I followed it (I got enough grey hair and “scars” to smell the “rightness” of something). This teaches all of us a good and salutary lesson. By ourselves, we’re NOTHING. However, if we stick together, if we pool our knowledge and resources, we’ll do fine. That’s why there’s NO “me n’ Jayzuss”, as the Evangelical notion has it. That’s why we shouldn’t have anything to do with them, even in the context of the so-called “Pro-Life Movement“… their heresy is that corrosive and WRONG (that’s why James Paffhausen’s signature on the so-called Manhattan Declaration was a betrayal of Christ and His Church). We all need each other constantly, and that’s reality. You can’t argue with that…

25 February 2013. The oca.org Gang Does It Again… They Play Favourites

The oca.org cabal does it again. It had a piece up about a nun dying in South Carolina on 22 February… but didn’t mention that Mother Theodora of Holy Transfiguration Convent died on the same day. I found out Friday night, at the Pannikhida for a friend’s daughter, and I got it up as soon as I heard of it. I’m sure that Iggy passed the word… why wasn’t it posted for all to see? It’s news, after all. Obviously, oca.org is playing favourites here… they publicised one of the konvertsy, but not someone from a real monastery. It does take all kinds, kids… and some sorts are just bone-idle layabouts, and there’s nothing to be done of it… except to fire them (which won’t happen). These people have an obligation to get out the news as quickly as they receive it, as modern technology allows such. The fact that they don’t is a reflection of their (lack of) character. Such people wish to be bowed and scraped to… what utter insanity.

The ship continues to sink, slowly, but steadily…
