Jailed Russian Pilot Complains of Prison Discrimination

Here’s what Uncle Sam REALLY looks like…

______________________________

On Thursday, Izvestiya reported that Russian pilot Konstantin Yaroshenko, who’s serving a 20-year prison sentence in the USA, complained of racial and religious of discrimination against him. Yaroshenko claims his life is in jeopardy, and he called on the Justice Ministry to intervene as a matter of urgency. At present, the Americans imprison him at Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institution in New Jersey, near New York City, on the site of a former military base. Yaroshenko says he is concerned about the “particular attitude” two other inmates and the administration have toward him.

In Liberia, American agents abducted Yaroshenko along with Nigerian Chigbo Peter Umeh in an undercover operation in May 2010. Shortly after, the Americans took them to the USA where Umeh received a 30-year-sentence and Yaroshenko got 20 years behind bars for attempted drug trafficking, but the jury acquitted two other suspects in the case. They appealed the sentence in September. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the submission of Yaroshenko’s appeal, in which he also requested his repatriation as per the terms of the international convention on the transfer of sentenced convicts. Only one Russian convicted in the USA, former UN diplomat Vladimir Kuznetsov, sentenced for money laundering, has ever been returned home according to the convention.

Editor’s Note:

This smells like a classic Old School Cold War “prisoner exchange” is in the works. The Americans nicked Vikor Bout and this guy… the Russians have a jabronie who tried to steal Bulava secrets and an unnamed Langley asset already in a Russian hoosegow. The two sides will quietly exchange their markers… but it won’t be as dramatic as a Golden Oldie ‘60s-style Glienicke Bridge affair. The more things change…

Two things strike one about this miscarriage of justice. Firstly, Yaroshenko didn’t do anything in the USA; therefore, US courts have NO jurisdiction over him in any legal sense. The USA thinks that it can scoop up anyone from anywhere and take them to the USA to be tried… but it can’t pull such shit in Russia, Iran, or China, ergo, the media hate campaign against them. Secondly, note the long sentence for next-to-nothing-at-all… it’s why the USA’s swimming in red ink. Imprisonment’s expensive, but that’s what the Republican Party reaches for as its means of first instance. If the USA were to drop the idiotic “War on Terror” and the “War on Drugs”, why, there’d be NO problems with the budget.

America is the contemporary Prison House of all the Nations… and no one dare point it up (my view is that imprisonment is used to keep racial minorities, particularly blacks, down, as their imprisonment rates prove). Remember that when you hear Willard Romney… it’s his kind of world. Don’t worry… we’re not imprisoning “nice people”. They’re just no ‘count niggers, spics, and wogs (with some Poor White Trash thrown in for a bit of spicing)… they’re not McMansion dwellers from the “right” suburb. A higher percentage of the American population sits in gaol than in China… who’s free? Interesting question, no?

28 April 2012. Update on Hilarion Kapral’s Whereabouts… Why the Fifth Anniversary Celebration was Postponed

______________________________

One of my kitchen cabinet was wondering where Hilarion Kapral was at the moment. Another one of my contacts piped up:

Metropolitan Hilarion went to Australia for a total knee replacement, as his care would be excellent, and it’d be free. Remember that Vladyki Hilarion, no matter what charges one wishes to lay at his feet, is indeed a true monk and has very little money, income, or worldly goods. I know him and I know thus to be true. Anyhow, Vladyki Hilarion decided to have his surgery whilst on a pastoral visitation to Australia. When it was time to come back to NYC, Uncle Sam pointed out his visa had expired and refused to expedite his case so he could be back for the celebrations of reunification. The celebrations for reconciliation will now be held in NYC, Nyack, and Garfield on 11-14 October; 14 October being Nyack’s “Altar Feast”.

Reflect on this, in the “free” USA, Vladyki would be thrown into debt to have his operation. That wouldn’t only be true of him, it’s true of all of us, due to the opposition of moneygrubbing Republican extremists to single-payer healthcare (which exists in the rest of the civilised world)… you see, their corporate sponsors would lose money! Oh, the humanity! Is this still more anti-Russian persecution from the US State Department? Where are the “powerful” neocon clergy in our Church now? If nothing else, this episode shows the contempt in which the US Hard Right views our Church (along with their “Department of Homeland Security“… rather Orwellian name, no?). Potapov didn’t stir himself… oh, he’ll claim otherwise… it’s abundantly clear that the pleasing of his Hard Right extremist pals in Langley and the Washington Times was more important than the presence of Metropolitan Hilarion for the Anniversary celebrations. The Centre noticed all this… make no mistake on that. They KNOW how’s naughty and who’s nice…

Thank Uncle Sugar for the delay… and do notice that Victor Potapov (who was/is a high Langley operative through his BBG links) did nothing to right the situation. By the way… Potapov’s a known CIA asset… the KGB/SVR has known that since the ’80s… I’m letting no cats out of any bags. He’s not as important as he thinks he is… he’s nothing but a typical First Family apparatchik (a bit smoother and more unctuous than most, to be sure, which fools the superficial and shallow sorts amongst us).

Who’s on first? It sure as hell ain’t the common folks! Greece in 1950… Greece in 2012… it smells the same, doesn’t it? THIS is why Abba Ephrem sits in a prison cell. What about his “human rights?” I guess that only counts if you kiss the bums of the banksters, pols, and media. All others can suck wind… that’s what I see… and I’m NOT alone.

Barclays Bank Received a Fine from the USA for Doing Business with “Rogue States”

Uncle Sam sez, “Pay up, or you’re next!” I think I know what state is a “rouge state”… it “exports democracy” on the weapons-racks of Reaper UAVs. THIS is the true face of the Tea Party…

______________________________

Barclays Bank, a British financial institution, must pay a fine of 298 million dollars (9.107 billion Roubles 231.963 million Euros 190.064 million UK Pounds) for conducting “illegal” financial transactions with countries that the US State Department considers “rogue states”. According to the US Department of Justice, amongst the bank’s customers were Cuba, Iran, Libya, Sudan, and Myanmar. Economic and trade sanctions have been imposed against all these countries by the White House. Barclays will pay 149 million dollars (4.554 billion Roubles 115.982 million Euros 95.032 million UK Pounds) to the United States government, and an additional 149 million dollars in accordance with an agreement with the New York County District Attorney’s Office in New York City. It violated both federal and state of New York statutes, sending hundreds of millions of dollars through the US financial system on behalf of banks from Cuba, Iran, Libya, Sudan, and Myanmar, according to prosecutors. In total, the transactions amounted to approximately 500 million dollars (15.28 billion Roubles 389.2 million Euros 318.9 million UK Pounds). However, it’s possible that Barclays will not pay anything, at least, for now. It entered into an agreement with the US Department of Justice for a stay of prosecution for two years. During this period, Barclays agrees not to violate American laws, according to RBC.
