24 May 2013. Perich May Be Out in the District… Mollard to Go to St Nick’s In DC Today

01 woman on phone

______________________________

One of the Cabinet checked in:

He’s being ousted as administrator of St Nicholas in DC. Not sure why. Tikhon Mollard to go there tomorrow [today] to work things out. Still, no resolution on JP, even though OCA Lesser Synod of Bishops just met.

Perich was Bobby’s boy. This means that the Synod‘s gotten wind of the evidence against Bobby, and has decided that it has traction and cred. Besides that, Perich was JP’s appointee. That doesn’t augur well for El Gordo… first, the Russia-USA soap opera heated up (bollixing up any approach to the Centre), now, the Synod’s seeing the evidence against Bobby and believing it. In short, Perich has no hope. No doubt, Mollard’s going to the District to tell JP that the Synod didn’t buy his bluster (for instance, the courts knocked down yet another suit by Fr Vasilie Susan… which means that JP’s legal threats have no substance whatsoever). Mollard’s on a thankless errand… no one respects him, and this will end in having more people pissed at him. However, he’s a clueless boob… he’s not an active klutz such as JP. As a genial incompetent, he’ll not understand that the only route to effectively taking control of the OCA is to kick ass and take names. Mollard was a man fit to be a bishop of a “safe” diocese (as Eastern PA, indeed, was), but he’s unsuited to be First Hierarch of anything. Sad, ain’t it?

We can be certain that the shit hit the fan fully and righteously, as this happened on Memorial Day weekend, and Mollard going to the District today is out of character… usually, the First Hierarch is at St T‘s for all of the weekend (including Friday). Is Mollard going to be at the Memorial Day liturgy at South Canaan? Perspirin’ minds wanna know…

Former CIA Analyst: “Elements in USA Want to End Moscow Ties”

there-are-spies-among-us-588

______________________________

Former senior CIA analyst David MacMichael told Press TV in regard to the recent spy row between Moscow and Washington that some speculations emerged that “elements in USA want to end Moscow ties”. When asked whether USA has a lot to lose by planting spies specifically at a time when the two countries are planning to cooperate and find a political solution on Syria, he said, “unfortunately, some will speculate that elements within the US Intelligence and security services that are opposed to rapprochement with Russia” did this in order to put an end to cooperation between Russia and USA.

Editor’s Note:

Do make a crucial distinction here. The “pros” in intel aren’t “opposed to rapprochement with Russia”… they’d like an easier life, and having good relations with Russia would mean that there’d be fewer chances of a fatal fuck-up. However, you can’t say the same of their political bosses and of the political hacks appointed to the higher reaches in both Langley and Fort Meade. Interestingly enough, both Republican neoconservatives and Democratic humanitarian interventionists converge as far as warfare in foreign parts is concerned… there’s not a tuppence worth of difference between them.

Who’s worse? The Republicans, at least, are open and unashamed grasping greedsters… the Democrats garb their nastiness in smarmy robes of “democracy” and “human rights” (the neocons use the former as much as the Democrats do, but the latter not as much). They’re both equally evil in terms of foreign policy (I vote Democratic because there IS a difference in their domestic policies, enough to matter). However, do note well that the Orthodox konvertsy and their enablers (especially, Potapov, Paffhausen, and Alexander Webster… also notice the SVS/Acton Institute Dixie Fry) cheerlead for the neocon warmongers… that’s not “consistent life ethics”, kids.

You see, if peace were to break out, the arms merchants would have no more orders for a while… and that can’t be! Poor babies! How will they afford their McMansions, wetback gardeners and nannies, holidays in Orlando, and country club dues? As General Smedley Butler put it so well in the ‘30s, “War is a racket”. Things haven’t changed, kids…

A Reflective Romney Emerges from Seclusion, Rips Obama

00 Romney Racist T-shirt

This is why Wet Willy lost… any questions? He refused to condemn the racism in the Republican Party (especially amongst white Southerners)… he paid the price. God sees and judges, doesn’t He?

______________________________

Four months after his bitter election defeat, a reflective Mitt Romney said it “kills” him not to be president and admitted that he made mistakes in his losing White House campaign… particularly, his failure to win over minority voters. In his first television interview since November’s loss to US President Barack Obama, Romney levelled a fresh blast of criticism at Obama for failing to lead and putting politics ahead of results in the confrontation with congressional Republicans over the budget and spending cuts. Romney said in an interview on Fox News Sunday, “It kills me not to be there, not to be in the White House doing what needs to be done. Obama’s still campaigning rather than bringing people together to craft a deal. I don’t see that kind of leadership happening right now. The hardest thing about losing is watching this critical moment, this golden moment slip away with politics”.

Romney’s interview was the first step in a slow public re-entry for the former Massachusetts governor, who’s been largely secluded at his southern California home with his wife Ann since the November loss. In two weeks, Romney will make his first public speech since the election, to a conference of conservative activists in Washington DC (shall JP and Potapov and their drooling konvertsy pals going to be there? Perspirin’ minds wanna know: editor). In the Fox interview, taped last week and aired on Sunday, Romney mostly avoided questions about the heavy criticism he has received from his fellow Republicans for running a lacklustre and gaffe-prone campaign. He said, “I don’t spend my life looking back”, adding he wouldn’t run again, but he’d still be active in public life. He said that he should’ve done a better job in appealing to minority voters including blacks and Hispanics, calling his failure “a real mistake”. Romney, who called for “self-deportation” of illegal immigrants during the Republican primaries, lost the vote of more than 70 percent of Hispanics to Obama. Most of the illegal immigrants in the USA are Hispanics.

Editor’s Note:

Note well that Willy doesn’t mention his cowardice in the Vietnam War… how he got his gazillionaire daddy to buy him a phony clergy deferment so that he wouldn’t have to serve in the forces. All of the Republipukes holler about their patriotism. If that’s so, I’d ask them, “Why did you vote for a shameless draft-dodger (Romney) and why do you take credence in two others (Rush Limbaugh and Bill O’Reilly)?” Yes… why do they lionise unpatriotic greedy SOBs who’ve done nothing but rip off this country? That’s what this perspirin’ patriotic leftist wants to know… and I’m NOT alone in wanting that. Russia put Khodorkovsky in jail for attempting to sneak money abroad to avoid taxation… bully for VVP! That’s what we need to do with Romney… he boasted about his millions in “tax haven” money, didn’t he? Tells you volumes about the Republiphonies and their duped supporters, doesn’t it? They LOVE a man who boasts of illegality… fancy that. I think that I’m going to hurl to clear my system of rot…

US Congress Backs Expanded Protections For Domestic Violence Victims

01d Political Cartoons 08.11

______________________________

On Thursday, the US House of Representatives passed a new version of the Violence Against Women Act that would expand federal protections to gays, lesbians, and other vulnerable groups; US President Barack Obama pledged that he’d promptly sign the bill into law. The bill, approved by the US Senate last year, passed in the Republican-controlled House on Thursday by a vote of 286-138 after months of delay over rightwing objections to extending federal protections based on sexual orientation and expanding jurisdiction of Indian courts in domestic violence cases. In a statement posted on the White House website, President Obama said, “Renewing this bill is an important step towards making sure no one in America is forced to live in fear, and I look forward to signing it into law as soon as it hits my desk”.

The original US Violence Against Women law came into effect in 1994, backed by Vice President Joe Biden when he was a senator, and was credited with raising public awareness about domestic violence directed at women, assisting its victims, and prosecuting its perpetrators. The law expired in 2011; whilst politicians in both parties were in general agreement on the need to extend the measure, they were at odds on many details, including its expansion to protect homosexuals and bolstering the authority of Native American courts in prosecuting crimes on Indian reservations. Biden released a statement of his own, saying that domestic violence in the USA fell by 64 percent since the original law was passed, adding, “I’m pleased that this progress will continue, with new tools for cops and prosecutors to hold abusers and rapists accountable”. The Violence Against Women legislation authorises funding for a range of programmes that help victims of violence and support prosecution of people accused of domestic violence and sexual assault. The new law also contains provisions dealing with stalking as well as the improper use of spyware and video surveillance equipment.

Editor’s Note:

The crime that “may not be named” is clergy abuse. That is, it’s a sort of “domestic violence” that we often refuse to face, or we attack the victim, rather than the abuser. All too many of the konvertsy are hyperclerical, that is, they give clergy too much power over their lives (this is true of some fanatical semi-monastic sorts as well, but it’s not so marked in the cradle set). This is most patent amongst former cultists such as the HOOMies, for we had the stupidity to ordain their cult leaders as clergy. These jabronies control just about every facet of their flock’s lives… and the idiots just eat it up… reflect on this… they don’t want freedom. They reject it, even though Orthodoxy is the freest, most Zen-like, least juridical, and most tolerant part of Christendom. Why did they join us in the first place? Damned if I know… however, watch for them to criticise this new law. Bear in mind, part of it is due to the fact that they tolerate abusive clergy, and that they think that abusive situations in marriage are just as normal and moral. That’s nasty… they oppose people having recourse to the law… both in abusive marriages and in abusive church settings. That’s a meaty bone to gnaw upon, no? It takes all kinds… and some are beyond the pale… NEVER forget that.

Russia Stands Firm in Schneerson Library Dispute

00 Jewish book. 26.02.13

______________________________

Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinsky said that Russia has solid legal grounds to keep the Schneerson Library in its possession. The American-based Hasidic movement rejected President Putin’s proposal to place the collection of books and religious documents in the European Tolerance Centre in Moscow. The situation has only deteriorated since the dispute over the Schneerson Library first broke out in the late 1980s. The Agudas Chasidei Chabad, the umbrella organisation for the worldwide Chabad-Lubavitch movement, rejected Moscow’s compromise on offering free access to the books and manuscripts of the Schneerson collection. Actually, they’re already available at the Russian State Library. The Hasidic movement wants the entire collection in its ownership.

In January 2013, a US Federal Court in Washington DC ruled that Russia should pay 50,000 USD (1.534 million Roubles. 38,300 Euros. 33,100 UK Pounds) per day in fines unless it returns the collection. In response, President Putin suggested placing the archive in the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Centre in Moscow. He also expressed his regret over the dispute reaching the point of confrontation, adding that the library doesn’t belong to a particular Jewish community, noting, “If we allow this national asset to go to anyone, we’d open a Pandora’s Box. If Russia started to comply with such lawsuits, claims would start streaming in”.

The Schneerson Library is a collection of old Jewish books and manuscripts gathered by Rav Yosef Yitzchok Schneersohn in the Russian Empire at the end of the 19th century. The Bolsheviks nationalised part of the collection in 1918 and eventually became part of the Russian State Library collection. Schneersohn managed to take the other part of the collection out of the USSR during his emigration in the 1930s. Later, the Nazis seized about 25,000 pages of manuscripts from the collection, then, the Red Army captured them and handed them over to the Russian State Military Archive. Rav Schneersohn died in 1950; he left no instructions on the disposition of the library after his death.

In August 2010, the issue came to the forefront again when Judge Royce Lamberth in a US District Court in Washington DC ruled that Russia should hand over the Schneerson archive to the American-based Hasidic movement. Two years later, the District Court issued a ruling assessing a fine against Russia for not turning over the library. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MID) rejected all claims made by Hasidic organisations, describing the decision of the American court “legally unfounded”. The MID also recommended that the Russian State Library to fine the Library of Congress for not returning seven books from the Schneerson collection loaned to Washington in 1994. Meanwhile, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York cancelled plans to send 35 works by the early-20th century designer Paul Poiret to an exhibition in the Moscow Kremlin. Russia isn’t going to organise any exhibitions in the USA, either. There’s no progress in the talks over the Schneerson library, but a scandalous battle in courts is already under way.

Editor’s Note:

As I’ve noted before, you can’t sue for ownership of property that you never owned in the first place. The library was nationalised; that’s the end of the story. Remember WHY the Hasids want the books… they want to restrict access to them and hog them for themselves. Why do I dislike Hasids? All too often, they live up to the stereotype of the insular, greedy, and grasping Jew… increasing the level of anti-Semitism in the world. That’s sad… innocents suffer for their nastiness. President Putin’s right in this one… the Schneerson Library is a precious resource for ALL of us… it’s not the plaything of a narrow-minded and intransigent little sect. It’s enough to make one hurl in disgust…

By the way, Judge Royce Lamberth is a fanatic appointed by Slobberin’ Ronnie… an old Cold Warrior living in the past, but feeling his oats in having an opportunity to kick “those godless commie Rooshians” (is he one of Potapov’s pals? Perspirin’ minds wanna know…).

Putin: We Can’t Hand Over the Schneerson Library to the USA

01 Two Jewish Books

______________________________

President Vladimir Putin said that Russia couldn’t hand over the Schneerson Library to the USA. However, he said that we could display it at the European Tolerance Centre in Moscow, and make accessible to all who wish to use it. On Tuesday, Putin said at a meeting of the Ethnic Relations Council, “Unfortunately, I can only say that the discussion of this issue has reached a point of confrontation, which, in my opinion, is due to illegal decisions made in another country”. Putin said that the library originated in 19th century Russia, and part of it was nationalised shortly after the October Revolution, saying, “This is a significant part of the problem. If we allow this national asset to go to anyone, we’d open a Pandora’s Box. Almost 100 years have passed since the library was nationalised. If Russia started to comply with such lawsuits, claims would start streaming in. No one can predict how far they might go. We’re not going to deal with this. It’s impossible”.

Putin remarked that another part of the library was brought to Russia as a war trophy. He added that that he’d like to propose a solution “that’d benefit people drawn to these cultural values in the first place. We’re at the Jewish Tolerance Centre now. We could think about this idea. I’m prepared to put together an order to the government and Minkultury to display this library at the Russian Jewish Tolerance Centre. All who’re interested could be given full access to this library”.

Chabad-Lubavitch has sought the ownership of the Schneerson Library since the end of the 1980s. Reports posted on 17 January 2013, said that a US Federal Court in Washington DC ordered a fine of 50,000 USD (1.52 million Roubles. 38,000 Euros. 32,800 UK Pounds) per day if Russia failed to transfer the Schneerson Library to the Chabad-Lubavitchers. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs found the court order offensive.

Editor’s Note:

Let’s keep this simple. The Hasids have NEVER owned the library. NEVER. NO WAY. NO HOW. They don’t have title to it. Therefore, they can’t sue in court to “regain” property that they never owned in the first place. In any case, whether they like it or not, a country has a right to nationalise property. This was done, and in due legal order. That is, the library belongs to the Russian state, to preserve it in perpetuity as part of the Russian national patrimony. The real reason that the Hasids want the books is that they wish to restrict the usage of them only to those who agree with their oddbod notions. All decent people must oppose that. I’ll be honest… I don’t like Hasids and I don’t care for their company. I won’t harm them… or be anti-Semitic because of their noisome shenanigans. I’m much more comfortable with Modern Orthodox Jews and Conservative Jews (Jewish groups to the left of the Conservatives don’t bother me… I simply don’t agree with many of their premises, but they’re NOT a royal pain in the arse as the Hasids are). However, I agree with most of my Jewish friends… the Hasids are offensively-arrogant and off-putting in their assumptions of religious superiority over all other Jews. Such people shouldn’t be harmed, but they shouldn’t be coddled either. They belong in a corner along with Islamists, Moonies, Hare Krishnas, Mormons, Pentecostalists, JWs, and Evangelicals… all sorts who give believers a “bad name”. I have plenty of company in thinking that…
