A Photo Essay. Coming Home: The Last Journey of the Soldier Mikhail Anisimov

Filed under: history,moral issues,patriotic,Russian,social life and customs — 01varvara @ 00.00

Editor’s Foreword:

This is a photo account of the last rites for an ordinary Russian solder from Kostroma Oblast, Mikhail Anisimov, who was killed in the Chechen War in 2001… is it any different from what the Republican warmongers are imposing on so many families here in the USA? Grief knows no nationality…

Remember, only the “little people” pay taxes, only the “little people” pay the price for the feckless policies of the oligarchs, only the “little people” die in the wars…

Editor’s Afterword:

They all had faces… they all had names… that goes for the poor American boys killed in Iraq and Afghanistan for the bottom-lines of Halliburton and Blackwater (or whatever they’re calling it this week), too. It’s not the wasted money that’s the worst… it’s the wasted LIVES… (rudeness alert, folks…) and Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, Glenn Beck, and Sweet Little Miss Sarah don’t give a ruby-red god-damn about it… they have their millions, after all. Note well that none of them are willing to do their fair share to help the unemployed… or to help the maimed veterans that come home from their war. After all, “only the little people pay taxes”…
