Denisenko Accuses Moscow of Trying to Destroy the UOC (KP)

“Patriarch” Philaret Denisenko (1929- ), the head of the so-called schismatical “Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Patriarchate of Kiev” (UOC (KP))

“Patriarch” Philaret Denisenko, the head of the so-called “Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Patriarchate of Kiev” (UOC (KP)) said that the Moscow Patriarchate intends to destroy the UOC (KP) and warned against inter-confessional conflict in the Ukraine. “I want to state that there’s an attempt to implement an ambitious plan in the Ukraine aimed at the collapse and destruction of Kiev Patriarchate (sic)”, Denisenko said in a statement posted on the official website of the UOC (KP). He said that the plan was set up in Moscow and suggested by Patriarch Kirill Gundyaev of Moscow and all the Russias and his subordinates. Denisenko noted that the government figures are expected to play a decisive role in this regard. “I regret to say that representatives of local authorities are directly involved in all these events, and that the simultaneity and coherence of the actions suggests that they have support from municipal officers”, his statement said. Denisenko also urged the authorities and President Viktor Yanukovich “to start a real and fruitful dialogue, otherwise, the Ukraine may return to the inter-church struggle of the early 90’s. I hope that in 2011 there will be changes for the better”, he said.

Miller Refuses to Concede Properly… Shows His True Colours

“She didn’t win fair n’ square! She cheated me! Miz Sarah promised ME the election! I’m not gonna call her and I’m not gonna congratulate her. I’m going back to Miz Sarah!”

Note this:

Miller had not called Murkowski to congratulate her, said his spokesman, Randy DeSoto. To say that she’d won it fair and square, DeSoto said, “is not in his thinking”.

This is childish… this is immature… this is beyond the pale of decency. Joe Miller claims to be a graduate of West Point. I’ve known more than one West Point grad, and all of ’em were upright and decent people of integrity and honour. This POS brought dishonour on West Point and all its graduates. Mr Miller should have said, “I concede this election to you. You won it fair and square… the people have spoken. I congratulate you”. THAT is what every West Point grad of my acquaintance would have said. By not saying such, Joe Miller proved him to be a putz of the first water, totally unworthy of anyone’s respect and company.

Of course, Joe Miller was just following Lil’ Miz Sarah’s orders. He didn’t have the guts to tell her to take a hike. Then again, Joe Miller had his goons handcuff a reporter… and Miz Sarah grinned in approval. It not only tells you volumes about Miz Sarah and Mr Miller… it tells you much about their supporters. I know a couple of priests who have a double helping of Crow Supreme on their plates facing them… ya want fries with that?

31 December 2010. A Point of Unity… Venerating the Holy…

Here’s a Mexican woman venerating an icon of Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe…

******

Here’s a Russian woman venerating an icon of St Matrona the Blessed of Moscow…

******

THIS is how you can tell the Legit Christians from the Sectarian Phonies… the real Christian gestures go back into deep antiquity. If you find someone who doesn’t light candles, kiss (or otherwise show respect to) icons and holy things, or make the sign of the cross… that person isn’t a Christian! As a Russian bishop put it, “Such people are ‘Christian atheists'”.

These gestures weren’t affected by the Great Papist Schism… not in the least. It’s one of the things that ties Christians together. It DOESN’T negate the theology… not one little bit… but it does mean that such folks aren’t Sectarians. It’s why Vladyki Vitaly Maksimenko invited the RC bishop to come as his honoured guest to the consecration of the church at Jordanville. We should do likewise…

31 December 2010. A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words… Splish, Splash! A Blessing Before the Launch!

A priest blesses a cosmonaut at the Baikonur Cosmodrome prior to his lift-off in a Soyuz spacecraft to to the ISS. Looks like both the priest and the cosmonaut are having a good time! Who woulda thunk it? If this doesn’t prove the reality of the current revival in Russia, nothing does!
