House GOP Prepares to Spit in Our Lord Christ’s Face…

This is a perfect logo for the Republican Party as it wants to slash the healthcare access of the poor and hand over the money involved to the filthy rich… let’s call it what it is… satanic and evil! Note well that Dreher, Frederica, Whiteford, Nelson, and Honeycutt defend the GOP position… what more can one say?

And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: For I was hungered, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee hungered, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

Gospel of St Matthew 25.40-46

These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast. These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

Note this:

The strategy is not risk-free for the Republicans, who won’t have a replacement plan of their own ready by the time of the repeal vote. But they say there’s no time to lose.

These swine don’t even have a reasonable alternative to the Obama plan. NOTHING.

WHAT UTTER IRRESPONSIBILITY… IT’S A SIGN OF THE GREEDY AND REPREHENSIBLE NIHILISM OF THE GOP.

Come up with an alternative plan that will cover the uninsured… or shut your loud mouths. Here’s an additional footnote:

Supporters of the health care law have launched a “drop it or stop it” campaign, challenging Republicans who vote to repeal the overhaul to also give up the government-funded health insurance provided to members of Congress.

“These Republican members need to understand that they are going to pay a risk for taking away people’s health care”, said Ethan Rome, executive director of Health Care for America NOW, a coalition of the law’s supporters. “It’s hypocrisy, their willingness to take health care from the US Congress, while they’re denying it to their constituents”.

Here’s what we should do… make the healthcare plan that’s given to the Congress available to all Americans… we’ll have to eliminate the tax break for the rich and end the mind-numbingly expensive foreign wars, but it can be done. Note well that the Republican swine defend their privileged healthcare plan… including the Tea Party filth.

Do read the Scriptures above. Make a note of:

Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

The Republican Party is guilty of trying to take away health care access for some of the most deserving of our citizens… the working poor. I shan’t mince my words… it means that Rush Limbaugh, Anne Coulter, Sarah Palin, and Glenn Beck are theomachists… “god-fighters”. They’re worse than any communist of the 1930s… for they clothe their greed and atheism in the filthy rags of verbose and demonstrative religiosity. They have “done it unto the least of these my brethren”… ergo, they are the foes of all real Christians… we must show them no quarter until their demonic ideology is slain and buried. Shout down any Orthodox who claim to support these nihilist poseurs. No leader of any Legit Christian body supports the evil ideology of Free Market Neoliberalism… only Sectarian slime do such.

You can support healthcare for the poor… or you can support tax cuts for the insanely rich… will it be His Holiness Patriarchs Kirill or Bartholomew… or will it be McConnell and Boehner? Isn’t that a no-brainer?

Don’t Listen to Those Who Blather On About “Commie Zombies”…

There are those who holler about “commie zombies”. I submit that such people are ignorant. They defame our past; they attack the brave Red Army veterans of the Second Great Patriotic War, who fought under the Red Banner of the USSR.

******

They defame our present; they attack the features which still owe much to the legacy of the Soviet Union, a legacy that is more appreciated with each passing day.

******

Lastly, they defame our future; they attack us for defending a communal socialistic approach rather than the self-centred and godless Neoliberal Free Market ideology of unbridled individualism and license (“Jay-zuss” as your “personal saviour” is a good illustration of such).

******

If you support Rush Limbaugh, you support the Baltic Neo-Nazis and their ideological children…

******

If you support Glenn Beck, you support the Galician Uniate Nazi Collaborators and their modern descendants…

******

If you support Sarah Palin, you support the Georgian Aggression in South Ossetia, and approve the Georgian attack on sleeping civilians in a surprise rocket bombardment.

******

I hope that certain parties will cease using the term “commie zombie”… the Communist Party has done less evil in the world than the heartless nihilist Free Marketers and the godless Sectarian imposters have done. I’m not a Hard Leftist… I believe in the facts… and I hate sinful greed and egotistical hubris. If America doesn’t turn away from its present fixation with the Free Market and Personal Salvation, it shall end smashed upon the rocks… and the “commie zombies” shall have to rescue it. Think well on that…

3 January 2011. Only in Russia… “Don’t Smoke!” Ha, Ha…

______________________________

Let’s see… the sign says, “NO SMOKING!” As you can see, these Russkie riggers and high-steel guys in Krasnoyarsk are following it in the true Russian style… when the state outlaws vodka, all the samogonshchiki (moonshiners) pull out their samogon-apparati (stills) and let them bubble merrily away. Russians are artful dodgers… they’ll spout the party-line in public… but they’ll find every method of artfully getting around every regulation on the books. This trips up every konvert on the face of the planet… they think that we enforce everything on the Church’s books with an unsmiling Teutonic efficiency and thoroughness. Rather, lazy easy-going Russians, headstrong stubborn Serbs, slippery argumentative Greeks, greasy Arab sharpies from the souk, and all-sort crazy Balkan haiduts (feisty Bulgarian sorts who were a royal pain in the bum to the Ottomans… and don’t forget the wild-eyed hillbillies from the Carpathians and Belarusian swamps) (I deliver all the ethnic stereotypes tongue-in-cheek and without malice, of course) interpret the canons of the Church. Of course, this means that what’s on the books and what goes on in “real life” are two different things altogether. “It’s what we’ve always done”… that’s that. Reminds one of a line from Kipling, no? “Here lies a man who tried to hustle the East”.

Raise a glass and cheer! Oh… do light up under the “NO SMOKING” sign… it’s how it’s done…

3 January 2011. “Proshu k Stolu!” That’s “Good Eats” in Russian… Pasta Fazool for the Last Week of the Christmas Lent

This is the last week before Orthodox Christmas on Friday, so, here’s a dish that could fit into a Lenten menu. Every true-blue, honest, and real Greek will tell you that beans are the pre-eminent Lenten food, although dyed-in-the-wool Russians would vote for boiled potatoes and stewed prunes. Why did I misspell the name of the dish in the title? Hey, go argue with Vinny, Roc, and Dom… that’s how they pronounce it… “How ya doin’? You gotta problem wid dat?”

For Pasta Fazool, you’ll need:

  • 2 Tablespoons (25 ml) olive oil
  • 1 onion
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 celery stalk, chopped
  • 1 carrot, chopped finely
  • 1 x 15 ounce (425 grammes) can cannelloni or red kidney beans are traditional (trust me, you’re not gonna use dried beans for this recipe… you can use any kinda beans that Nonna’s got in the house, OK?)
  • 1 x 15 ounce (425 grammes) can peeled tomatoes
  • 1 large bay leaf
  • 1 Tablespoon (15 ml) basil
  • 1 Tablespoon (15 ml) dried parsley
  • 1 Teaspoon (5 ml) oregano
  • 2 x 14 ounce cans (250 ml each, 500 ml total) chicken or vegetable broth
  • 2 cups (500 ml) water
  • salt and pepper, ad libitum
  • 1-1/2 cups (375 ml) (6 ounces (170 grammes)) Ditalini pasta, or any other pasta that strikes your fancy
  • Grated cheese (optional) (hey, the tradition says that you use Parmagiano or Romano, but it’s your soup…)

Drain the peeled tomatoes and chop them coarsely, reserve the juice. In a deep pot, sauté the onion, celery, and carrot in the olive oil over medium heat for about 8-10 minutes, stirring frequently, until the onion’s transparent. Add the garlic; cook it for about a minute, stirring it often. Add the beans to the pan. If you wish, before you add them to the pot, you could blend the can of beans with one can water in an electric blender until it’s almost smooth… I’m not crazy about that, it sounds too much like baby food to me. Then, add the crushed tomatoes, broth, basil, bay leaf, parsley, oregano, salt, and pepper. Add the water and reserved tomato liquid, stir it all well to mix it thoroughly, and bring it to a slow boil over medium-high heat, stirring it continually so that nothing sticks to the bottom of the pan. Reduce the heat to medium-low, and let it simmer for 20 minutes stirring occasionally. In another pot, cook the pasta until it’s al dente, according to the package directions. Drain the pasta, then, add it to the pot. At this point, some people put a little bit of cooked chopped spinach into the soup… that’s up to you. Stir it all once more to make sure everything’s melded. Lastly, ladle the soup into bowls and, if you want, you can top each bowl with grated cheese. Hey, it’s Lent… so knock off the cheese, won’t ya? It’ll taste good… “From our Family to yours”.

If you really want to gild the lily, before you start the soup, take the carrot peelings, the ends from the celery, and the onion skins and ends and make a broth with them. Throw them into boiling water, turn down the heat to medium-low, cover, and cook for about 30 minutes. Drain out and discard the veggie solids… you should have about 2 cups of liquid, use it place of the water. That’s the “Green” in the Italian flag… you didn’t waste anything. This recipe gives you about five 2-cup (500 ml) servings.

Put on a Sinatra CD… listen to the Generalissimo whilst you eat your Pasta Fazool… how more Eye-talian can youse git?

Приятного аппетита. Bon appétit.
