28 February 2011. A Point to Ponder…

Here’s our proud Red heritage!

______________________________

It has been my very great good fortune to have the right to claim my blood is half Southern and half Northern, and I’d deny the right of any man here to feel a greater pride in the deeds of every southerner than I feel. Of all the children, the brothers and sisters of my mother who were born and brought up in that house on the hill there, my two uncles afterward entered the Confederate service and served with the Confederate Navy.

One, the younger man, served on the Alabama as the youngest officer aboard her. He was captain of one of her broadside 32-pounders in her final fight, and when at the very end the Alabama was sinking and the Kearsarge passed under her stern and came up along the side that had not been engaged hitherto, my uncle, Irvine Bulloch, shifted his gun from one side to the other and fired the two last shots fired from the Alabama. James Dunwody Bulloch was an admiral in the Confederate service.

Men and women, don’t you think I have the ancestral right to claim a proud kinship with those who showed their devotion to duty as they saw their duty, whether they wore the grey, or whether they wore the blue? All Americans who are worthy of the name feel an equal pride in the valour of those who fought on one side or the other, provided only that each did with all his strength and soul and mind his duty as it was given to him to see his duty.

Here’s our proud White heritage!

______________________________

Let’s change the last paragraph slightly, and, now, look at it:

Men and women, don’t you think I have the ancestral right to claim a proud kinship with those who showed their devotion to duty as they saw their duty, whether they were Red Riflemen, or whether they were White Guards? All Russians who are worthy of the name feel an equal pride in the valour of those who fought on one side or the other, provided only that each did with all his strength and soul and mind his duty as it was given to him to see his duty.

THAT’S the legacy of modern Russia… to be true to ourselves, we must take from both the Red and White legacies. Do note that both Red and White oppose the Black Banner of Nihilism… both stand against the money-grubbing godlessness of Neoliberal (“conservative”) Laissez Faire Corporatism. The Red legacy stands for justice… the White legacy stands for honour… Black Nihilism stands for NOTHING. It’s why America will be the first country to bow low before Anti-Christ… it worships “success”, grubs for money, and confesses a fuzzy “feel-good” substitute religion (“Jayzuss” isn’t the Lord Christ)… worshipping Anti-Christ wouldn’t be much of a stretch.

Am I White? Am I Red? I’m BOTH and PROUD of it!

Czech First Hierarch Received Honorary Doctorate… SVS Didn’t Announce It until Day of Conferral

Read this:

http://www.oca.org/news/2434

This is one of the oddest news items to come out in the rather hectic stream of events over the last week. SVS supposedly gives an honorary doctorate to a First Hierarch of a recognised Autocephalous Local Church… and it’s only publicised on the day of the award! That means that no one except the approved cognoscenti would be able to attend this great Dixie Fry and Love Feast. By God, this has the fingerprints of the Blunder all over it! No doubt, this was set up when the Blunder went to Czechia right after his junket to the USA (HA couldn’t get a MP figure to endorse the OCA, so, he tapped one of his buddies in one of the Local Churches that are dependent on Moscow). In particular, the tardy and laggardly announcement meant that Mel Pleska (or any other “hostile” parties) couldn’t be present.

One of my correspondents and an old interlocutor from the Orthodox Forum had an interesting colloquy, I think it’s right to share it with you (there’s no way that Iggy or Lyonyo can figure out who said this… it’s too general):

I think this is the beginning of a schism in the OCA….

Interesting thought. It does remind me of the retirement of Vitaly Ustinov by the ROCOR, then, he went on to form “ROCOR-V” as opposed to “ROCOR-L” (L for Laurus). ROCOR-V ended up very small and I’d think that “OCA-J” would also be a minor faction, considering that the Synod seems united against him. I think that the important thing is just what is in that Sexual Misconduct Committee report, and I wonder if it’ll ever see the light of day. Note that in the ROCOR release, they said they invited Jonah at the request of the Czech Metropolitan. Even ROCOR is “playing it safe” while this evolves.

Oddball events like those reported in the above oca.org post are drawing all kinds of disparate people together. My observation is that when the shit actually hits the fan, one sees where people REALLY stand. I’ll tell you this… be prepared to be surprised (both pleasantly and otherwise)! Keep an open mind… this ain’t over yet… the darkest and murkiest segment is just ahead (it’ll be our American smuta). Keep your head and don’t believe anything from SVS, Zacchaeus Wood, or the Syosset apparat. Yes… a raskol is upon us. Just like Avvakum, they’re going to scream much about “purity”… and bear in mind that the faction that’ll make such claims will have an inordinate number of faygelers and suspected abusers in is ranks (ironic, ain’t it?). It IS a crank world… but it’s our duty to maintain the Church, and we CAN do it… but we have to stand together. Shall you take my hand? It’ll be easier that way, dear…

Is He is On Leave… Or… Is He Not on Leave… THAT is the Question

Christ and Anti-Christ

Ilya Glazunov

1999

Whom do we follow? If Christ, by definition, is the Truth Incarnate, what does that make the OCA Holy Synod and Paffhausen? One of them is a liar… one is a follower of Anti-Christ… scary, isn’t it? Do remember that evil often wears a smiling and “nice” face…

It’s time to call to mind two statements. Firstly, re-read this:

From: Fr Joseph Fester [mail to: jfester99@xxxxxxxxxx]

Sent: Saturday February 26, 2011 10:24 PM

To: X

Subject: Re: Hierarchal Commemorations

Dear All

As per His Beatitude, since His Beatitude is not on a Leave of Absence, he and he alone is to be commemorated. Archbishop Nathaniel is not to be commemorated.

God bless

Fr Joseph

Now, re-read this:

During their retreat, His Beatitude presented a request to the Holy Synod for a time of personal retreat and spiritual renewal. The Holy Synod granted His Beatitude’s request for a period of 60 days and appointed the senior Hierarch, His Eminence, Archbishop NATHANIEL, of Detroit and the Romanian Episcopate to assist in the temporary administration of the OCA during His Beatitude’s retreat.

As an additional means of assistance to His Beatitude, the Holy Synod relieved him from his responsibilities as Locum Tenens for the dioceses of the South and of the Midwest. The Holy Synod appointed Bishop NIKON as Locum Tenens of the Diocese of the South, with Bishop MARK of Baltimore continuing as Administrator. The Holy Synod also appointed Bishop TIKHON Locum Tenens of the Diocese of the Midwest with Bishop-elect Archimandrite MATTHIAS continuing as Administrator.

In other matters, the Holy Synod accepted the resignation of Archpriest Alexander Garklavs as Chancellor of the Orthodox Church in America and appointed His Grace, Bishop MELCHISEDEK of Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania as interim Chancellor.

There is it is… oca.org says that JP is on leave… Joseph Fester says that he’s not. There’s no way that both of these can be true at the same time. ONE OF THESE STATEMENTS IS A LIE. We have to stand up, or, conniving schemers such as Iggy Burdikoff, Benjamin Peterson, and Mark Stokoe will take the Church from us. I say this proves, even to the slowest learners, that there’s something very rotten going on, and it won’t be put right until we cut out the cancer… we’ve got to can Fester, Iggy, Behr, Stokoe, the entire MC, Peterson… and (most emphatically) Jonas Paffhausen.

Quo vadis, Melchisedek Pleska?

28 February 2011. A Tale of Two Stories… How patriarchia.ru Told It… How Zacchaeus Wood Told It

Here’s the original low-res image for the patriarchia.ru post…

Editor’s Foreword:

Here’s one event as reported by two different sources… the first is the official MP website, patriarchia.ru, it appears to be from the official patriarchal communications service, not the Blunder’s fib factory in Bolshaya Ordynka. The second is from the website of the OCA Representation in Moscow (obviously penned by Zacchaeus Wood). DO note the differences.

The First Hierarch of the Local Church of Czechia and Slovakia Concelebrated Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of the Sign (ROCOR) in New York City

On 27 February 2011, on Meatfare Sunday (the Sunday of the Last Judgement), Metropolitan Kryštof Pulec of Prague, the First Hierarch of the Local Church of Czechia and Slovakia, concelebrated Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of the Sign in New York City, according to the ROCOR official website. Metropolitan Hilarion Kapral of New York and Eastern America, the First Hierarch of the ROCOR; Archbishop Yustinian Ovchinnikov of Naro-Fominsk, the Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA; Bishop Jerome Shaw of Manhattan (ROCOR); Archpriest Igor Vyzhanov, representative of the VRNS to the UN; and other Russian Orthodox clergy, joined Metropolitan Kryštof in serving. After the service, Metropolitan Hilarion, on behalf of the ROCOR Holy Synod, welcomed Metropolitan Kryštof, who presented to Metropolitan Hilarion the Synodal Order (First Class) for his attention and work to strengthen unity within the Church. On Sunday night, through the invitation of Archbishop Yustinian, with the blessing of Patriarch Kirill Gundyaev of Moscow and all the Russias, Metropolitan Kryštof and Metropolitan Jonas Paffhausen of all America and Canada (OCA) (sic) visited St Nicholas Cathedral in New York City.

Did El Gordo tell his buddies about his lies about his “leave”… take a look at Seraphim Gan (he’s a First Family apparatchik)… he looks downright SHIFTY. This has the reeking ordure of something cooked up hastily by the Blunder… don’t forget, he went to Prague immediately after going to the USA. No doubt, it was to arrange this soirée for his pal Fathausen. By the way, Mr Wood… if you try to get me to remove this image, I’ll tell sources that’ll go straight to the Winnipeg magistrate… it would deep-six your confrère Storheim for sure.

Metropolitan Kryštof Pulec of Czechia and Slovakia visits New York

On Sunday evening, 27 February 2011, Metropolitan Kryštof Pulec of Prague, the First Hierarch of the Church of Czechia and Slovakia visited two Orthodox churches in Manhattan (New York City). First, Metropolitan Kryštof arrived at St Nicholas the Wonderworker Cathedral where Archbishop Yustinian Ovchinnikov of Naro-Fominsk, Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA greeted him. Shortly afterwards, through the invitation of Archbishop Yustinian, with the blessing of Patriarch Kirill Gundyaev of Moscow and all the Russias, Metropolitan Jonas Paffhausen of all America and Canada (OCA) (sic) also arrived, to be a part of the official visit of the First Hierarch of the Church of Czechia and Slovakia. Archbishop Yustinian gave his guests a short tour of the cathedral, he explained to them the history of the parish, and, afterwards, he invited them to the Archbishop’s private quarters for an informal tea where the “two First Hierarchs of the Local Churches” (sic) {these are Mr Wood’s words in the original Russian… not mine: editor} and Archbishop Yustinian had a conversation on a wide range of topics of mutual concern.

That same evening, Metropolitans Kryštof and Jonas went to the Cathedral of the Sign and the Synodal Residence (ROCOR), where Metropolitan Hilarion Kapral of New York and Eastern America, the First Hierarch of the ROCOR, met them. He gave his guests a tour and short history of the cathedral, and they venerated the relics held there. After their visit in the cathedral, the “First Hierarchs of the Church of Czechia and Slovakia and the OCA” (sic) {again, these are Mr Wood’s usages: editor}, were invited to Metropolitan Hilarion’s residence for some refreshments. During this meeting, Metropolitan Kryštof formally invited Metropolitan Jonas to make an official visit to the Church of the Czechia and Slovakia in the near future, to bear witness to the unity that exists between these two Autocephalous Local Churches (sic). In addition to the hierarchs mentioned above, clergy of the MP, the Church of Czechia and Slovakia, the OCA, and the ROCOR also participated in the meeting.

NB:

I took the Russian version of the above as normative; where it differed from the English, I changed the text to reflect the Russian. In addition, I deep-sixed the illiterate, ignorant, and “over-precise” HOOMie konvertsy usages of Mr Wood… one NEVER puts a bishop’s name in all caps, save to indicate an actual signature on a real document (that’s a sign of a Boob First-Class). He’s flying in the face of usual journalistic practise in the Orthodox homelands. That’s what happens when konvertsy are jumped up far rapidly for their own good.

Editor’s Afterword:

As of 15.00 EST (23.00 MSK 20.00 UTC 12.00 PST), there’s no more info on patriarchia.ru on this. The MP official post doesn’t contain any information about any future “official” visit of JP to Czechia, nor does it call him a “First Hierarch”. You must take anything from Zacchaeus Wood warily… he’s an autocephalist fanatic who’s part of Stokoe’s secretive MC coterie. If it’s not reported on patriarchia.ru, it may very well be “spin” or outright falsehood. DO note that El Gordo wasn’t part of the Divine Liturgy earlier in the day… one wonders why (was it because he had to make his lying speech about his “leave” in an OCA church?). Of course, another reason that he wasn’t at the Liturgy is that Fathausen is hated throughout grounded American Orthodox circles, having support only from konvertsy, apparatchiki, and HOOMie cultists. Do take a GOOD look at Seraphim Gan… his shifty expression tells me that this session wasn’t quite on the up and square… I think that it was something ginned up by the Blunder’s faction behind KMG’s back.

By the way… if it was Sunday evening 27 February in NYC (after 18.00 EST), it would be after 02.00 MSK on Monday morning 28 February. This means one of three things:

  1. Zacchaeus Wood is an incompetent who put the wrong date on the post
  2. Zacchaeus Wood wrote this up before the occurrence, and forgot to change the date
  3. Zacchaeus Wood deliberately put a wrong date on the post to bolster Fathausen’s konvertsy fans

It’s a small point to be sure… but it shows that Mr Wood is either an incompetent placeholder, a negligent layabout, or a mendacious liar… or, is it all three? In any case, he’s a fanatical autocepahlist and a rock-hard member of the Blunder’s faction at the Centre, which makes his every utterance suspect and crook.

As they say… it’s NEVER boring covering the Orthodox beat in America.
