Today, I saw something in the Russian media that broke my heart. The Ukraine has gone further down the road to American-style “freedom” than Russia has… bailiffs entered the apartment of a baba and her disabled son to seize their possessions, as she couldn’t afford the extortionate rates that the utility wanted. However, the KPU swooped in with the media… I don’t know what the upshot will be, but it’s clear that “conservative” Neoliberals are lying and nasty SOBs, who only care about money and how they secure it, by fair means or by foul (y’know what the old Romans said, Pecunia non oletMoney doesn’t stink). Y’know, the Republicans want that sort of thing to be legal throughout the USA… it already is… in TEXAS! Remember that whenever you hear Rick Perry… he’ll smash his boot-heel without any mercy or hesitation into the face of a baba for two cents (the blood and gore doesn’t bother him or his supporters one bit)! NEVER forget that… if you do, you’d best buy some Vaseline

For what it’s worth, here are the hierarchs who were present at the services for Dmitri Royster:

The ROEA (the OCA Romanians) website hasn’t noted Dmitri’s passing; furthermore, Archbishop Nathaniel Popp (nor his vicar, Bishop Irineu Duvlea) didn’t  attend anything in Dallas this week, according to my information. Again, I’ve received NOTHING to indicate that any MP/ROCOR clergy were involved in the services, let alone bishops. That doesn’t mean that none were present… I’ve heard nothing to indicate that any SERVED at any of the services.

When it rains, it pours, they say. Of top of the passing of Dmitri Royster, other news is going down in the OCA. Firstly, the Feds found Deacon Michael Pasonick guilty on corruption charges and his lawyer’s pulling shyster tricks in an attempt to keep him out of the slam. Here’s a link to back what I’m saying:

Look on the right-hand side of the webpage, it’ll give you all the info that you need to access more information on this scumbag. The good word has it that Fr John Kowalczyk wanted Posonick made a priest. The buzz is that Kowalcyk’s Herman’s spy (Hermie’s Uriah Heep, if you will)… several sources tell me that Kowalczyk was snooping around on Memorial Day (is Herman the real OCA bishop in Eastern PA?)… tells you volumes, no? Some say that Kowalcyk’s a major problem in Eastern PA… Tikhon Mollard is a gutless Cadillac Escalade-driving punk… he lets Kowalczyk run the store. No doubt, this tale will circulate amongst those at the upcoming Sobor.

On Wednesday night, BP and Company slunk back to the States… without any fanfare, without any mention of their arrival on oca.org (do you see a pattern, kids?). No pictures, no story, no nothing… it was a bust any way that you look at it. Kryštof Pulec snubbed the OCA delegation, and “disinvited” Fathausen (that’s what I heard)… but he had PLENTY of time for Archbishop Mark Golovkov from the Centre… Mark’s His Nibs’ REAL head of external relations and everyone “in the know” knows it (the Blunder and his golubiye aspirantura in Bolshaya Ordynka are only taken seriously by konvertsy boobs such as Mattingly and Jacobses (let’s see… Mattingly gushes over Dmitri… a known poofter… what does that say of the Blunder?)). Nothing came out of Czechia on the Dickie question… Dickie’s gone down the memory hole, yet again, and Vlad Berzansky’s disappeared for the moment (that means that he finds the situation either too problematic or unstable for his taste… when a thoroughly-bad man like Berzansky goes to ground, take heed… such people have finely-honed survival instincts). That meant that the talks between BP (JP’s go-between) and Berzansky’s go-between went nowhere (I’m willing to bet that Berzansky was in Moscow… one of my sources said so). That means that this thread is still unresolved, and bids fair to remain such at the time of the Sobor.

Love BT posted the following on the Indiana List:

We learned almost immediately that Hurricane/Storm Irene caused a tree to fell over the driveway at the reformed Chancery in Syosset, and we’ve learned other news since then as well, including the news that Protopresbyter Hopko is speaking someplace or other, and, before that, that an effort to recall Archimandrite Zacchaeus proved impotent; however, since we’ve heard absolutely nothing on the topic, we have to assume that all OCA parishes from South Carolina to Maine passed through the Hurricane/Storm Irene uneventfully, since the Chancery, we’ve been told, is far more efficient than that of the Bad Old Days, and its webpage even more so… all part of the transparency “restored” to Christ’s Holy Church which was actually reported by one diocesan assembly some time ago; therefore, if any parishes HAD been harmed in the storm, we’d all know of it and be trying to help any that needed help. Nothing nasty has happened either, or, we would have learned of it through reports from ocanews.org.

Reports posted on the ACROD website make it clear that the storm severely affected their parishes in Rahway and Manville NJ. All things being equal, there are OCA parishes in that area of New Jersey, and there are parishes on the Island in the vicinity of the Chancery site. Both areas suffered major damage in the storm. Are we to assume that there wasn’t any damage to the parishes in the area, or, is this yet another illustration of the incompetence of the Syosset/SVS apparat? No doubt, this omission will be another of the topics bandied about by the Sobor delegates.

As for Love BT’s relationship with Dmitri, I believe that BT (I think he was working for the World Bank) and Dmitri were in DC at the same time when Dmitri was Bishop of Washington (Auxiliary to Metropolitan Irenei Bekish) in the early ‘70s… BT was ordained to the diaconate, and Dmitri cut a deal to assign him to LA, where BT became an assistant to the then-Rector, Fr Dimitri Gisetti. According to his official bio, Dmitri studied at SVS in ‘66-67… BT (when he roomed with Lyonyo) was a student for one year at SVS in the mid-60s; I think that it was at the same time. The point is, they go back together for a VERY long time, don’t they? How much does BT know of Dmitri’s shenanigans and why is he silent about ‘em? Perspirin’ minds wanna know, Mr Fitzgerald…

If that isn’t enough, this blurb was inserted in the latest issue of  TOC (The Orthodox Church):

While printing of The Orthodox Church has resumed, finances do not permit the mailing of copies to individual homes, as had been done for over four decades. The current budget allows for the printing and bulk distribution of approximately 9,500 copies, rather than the former 26,000 individually mailed copies. Every parish will continue to receive a packet of copies in bulk for distribution locally. The number of copies a given parish receives may not correspond to its actual reported membership.

This illustrates, in a graphic and glaring manner, that the Syosset apparat is running out of money. Where did the money go to? Is this how they’re financing Fathausen’s peripatetic and ceaseless gallivanting? Of course, one of the reasons that the print edition of TOC is back is because it’s Lyonyo’s baby, and Lyonyo wants his POV “out there”. Do note that the print run’s reduced… that’s a clear sign that cash is scarce, and TOC isn’t high on the pecking order. Since Lyonyo doesn’t control oca.org (only TOC) and ocanews.org is his primary internet venue/mouthpiece, maybe this accounts for Stokoe’s silence on the Czech trip and the latest business in re Dickie Wood… but that doesn’t explain the lack of coverage on Dmitri’s death on Stokoe’s site. That’s ODD… Stokoe’s been Lyonyo’s faithful paladin all these years… is he being thrown from the train to save Lyonyo’s hide? Don’t forget Tassos and Jarmus…

To end this, a friend wrote me:

I wrote back:

It’s a tits-up, isn’t it? One clergyman had the brass to label me “rude”… I’d rather be “rude” and truthful, than be “nice” and tolerant of lies. It’s quite that simple.

Are we really near the end of the OCA? It sure looks like it, doesn’t it? Another source shared this with me:

I’m only guessing, but the lack of support at the Centre for the autocephalous project in America is clearly accelerating and “World Orthodoxy” is taking notice… it’s really picked up speed in the last several months.

I wouldn’t count out the OCA fanatics out yet… as we’ve seen in the case with St Nick’s in Nice, Renovationists use every low legal tactic to retain property, money, and power. The Last Act is only beginning… I fear that’s there’s much more mileage to go before we can put “Finis” to this story…

Here’s the real face of Royster’s scurvy crew of konvertsy cultists in the OCA DOS… they’re not all that “nice” underneath it all, are they?

Did you notice how the Centre, MP/USA, and the ROCOR seemed to more-or-less ignore Dmitri’s passing? The ROAAC posted about it on their website, but they need to keep good relations with the OCA because they want the ROEA back… the AOCANA noticed it on their website because it’s cheaper for them to use SVS/STS to educate their clergy than it is to for them to operate their own seminary, and Saliba (the most skilled ecclesiastical operative in American Orthodoxy at present) wants to pick up some of the spoils when the OCA folds (especially, some of the konvertsy, believe it or not)… the ACROD noted his passing as well, maybe, some of the po-nashemu elements will merge with them when the OCA collapses.

The last bit is the most interesting… did the EP allow Moriak and Dahulich to go to the OCA in order that they might “lead” parts of the OCA to the EP when the shit hits the fan? Bart’s certainly capable of such double-dealing guvno… I don’t think that the initiative came from Johnstown. Bart wants to stab Kirill again… just as he’s pushing the Paris creeps to delay the Centre, he could be calculating to gain from the collapse of the OCA. Everyone knows the dishonesty and duplicity of the Phanariotes (it’s the most lasting legacy of the Ottoman captivity)… and their satanic greed… it costs at least a hundred bucks to get Bart’s blessing at a pastoral visitation (and they physically prevent those who haven’t ponied up from approaching him).

You should also note how few real “rank n’ filers” attended the Pannikhidas and the funeral. When you take away bishops, their entourages, clergy, clergy spouses, “Reader” this and “Sub-Deacon” that (real grounded Orthodox don’t get their mail addressed “Reader X” or “Sub-Deacon Y”, that’s an innovation, it’s something new à la the +FATHAUSEN usage for bishops), not that many “real” people were there… how many of those who attended the services came from traditional ethnic Orthodox families? I’d say, not many…

Whilst we’re talking about real history, back in ‘77, at the Montréal Sobor, there were concerns about Dmitri’s stance in re ecumenical inter-faith relations, especially vis-à-vis the Roman Catholics. Many perceived Royster as being anti-Catholic… remember, place this in the context of the MP of the 1970s… at that time, the MP (and Metropolitan Nikodim himself) enjoyed excellent relations with the Vatican (I recall a joint MP/Vatican declaration from that era in which the two bodies referred to themselves as “sister churches”). Therefore, the Centre (of that period) didn’t want an overt anti-Catholic First Hierarch at the helm of the nascent OCA, or, someone who might be inclined to pull out of the NCC or WCC, or, worse yet, take an “Evangelical” slant on inter-faith relations. Of course, on the OCA side, this may have altered Lyonyo’s career path (not to mention the entire SVS cabal), which was/is built upon inter-faith “dialogue” and ecumania. It’s interesting to note, “How the worm turns”. The Vatican pissed on its good relations with the MP by loosing its ruthless and vicious Galician Uniate attack dogs in the Western Ukraine. Had they not done so… who knows? However, that’s not what happened… I believe in attending to reality, not speculating on “what may have been”… it’s the saner option.

A friend of mine wrote me:

If Royster was involved in the exploitation of Mexican street boys for sex, he wasn’t just a genial homosexual. He was a predator, plain and simple.

I quite agree. One of my sources told me that when the US began to crack down on sexual tourism in Mexico, Royster was one those reported to the authorities as someone to watch. In re Royster’s reception into the Metropolia, my informants tell me that Royster originally wanted to go to the Metropolia. However, the Metropolia refused to ordain him at that time; it’s not clear why. Perhaps, it’s because he lacked a seminary education; perhaps, it’s something darker. In spite of this, the Metropolia WOULD accept him if someone else ordained him; so, Royster simply went to the Ukrainians first, then, transferred to the Metropolia. His companion on this curious hegira was Hilary Madison, a former RC and a notorious abuser of young men and boys… the straight story is that Madison ran unchecked in the OCA for decades (James Silver (“Monk James”… Bobby K’s tireless apologist) was stuck to Madison tighter than bark to a tree, fancy that).

Royster also allowed the paedophile Andrew Rayburn to hide out for years at a monastery in New Mexico, until Pokrov posted that he was hosting youth retreats. Royster was there the day the police came to the chancery to arrest Rayburn, so he knew what this man was. Continuing in the tradition, Paffhausen made Rayburn’s skete into a full monastery.

Another wrinkle in the Diocese of the South, I’m told, is that Royster simply transferred another sexual abuser from parish to parish, until he was finally retired after a financial scandal. On top of that, Royster told the daughter of an incestuous priest that his abuse of her and her sister was of no concern to the Church; it was a “family problem”. Fancy that… to believe that a man who would abuse his own daughters didn’t pose a threat to the girls in his parish! Royster also accepted a priest and a subdeacon involved in the sexual abuse scandal at the OCA cathedral in San Francisco (that ended in the OCA settling out of court… y’know, “We admit no wrongdoing”, all that rubbish). The subdeacon, now a priest, was also a former HOOMie. He was one of Royster’s pallbearers. I guess he owed Royster for ordaining him despite the outcry against his actions. Speaking of HOOMies, although Royster didn’t advertise his collection of HOOMie priests as much as Love BT did, he accepted quite a few of them. At least one is notorious, even in HOOMie circles, for persecuting those members of the Order who opposed joining Vasiloupolis because Vrionis (its “hierarch”) was a convicted paedophile. The Holy Order of Mans still legally owns the church where this priest serves, last time I checked.

Most of all… oca.org posted NOTHING on the funeral. NOTHING. NOTHING AT ALL. Compare this to the full coverage given by the ACROD people to the passing of Metropolitan Nicholas and weep. The OCA pays money to put out the news (where does it go? Into Lyonyo’s and Matusiak’s wallets?)… the ACROD doesn’t have a pot to piss in. Yet, the latter got the news out in a timely way (they covered the events on the day that they took place, within hours of their occurrence); the latter gave you nothing… I wonder what’s Slowpoke Matusiak’s excuse this time? It proves, even for the slow learners, the Carpatho-Russian po-nashemu guys can be trusted to get it done, get it done right, and get it done on time, no matter what difficulties they face. It also illuminates, even for the simplest amongst us, that the OCA’s leading elements are an arrogant and prissy set who refuse to “do the right thing”, yet, they prance about as if they’re the “Great White Hope” of Orthodoxy in the American diaspora.

Here’s something that I received:

In the Diocese of the South, if you even hint that any of this is true, they’ll ostracise you… Fester sent threatening letters to those who questioned things, I’m told.

THIS is what the konvertsy (and Terrence Mattingly and Dreher) defend. It’s become a cult, kids. You KNOW what that means. In religious terms, cults are cancers. You NEVER negotiate with a cancer… you NEVER compromise with a cancer. You KILL it… you CUT IT OUT… you BURN IT OUT completely. Yes… it’ll leave scars… they’re usually horrible ones… yes… there’ll be excruciating pain… do ask any cancer survivor, they’ll tell you the real deal. It’s time to cleanse the Church of this contamination and infestation. Yes… it’ll mean a fight… a vicious, agonising, and mucky one, to be sure. Many of these people left the TEC because the TEC wouldn’t let them take it over and replace Christianity with a notional rightwing construct. We MUST do the same, if we want our Church back.

3 September 2011. Mattingly Gushes, “Dmitri Lived Life of Saint”… If Only That Were So…

I didn’t have a high opinion of Terrence Mattingly’s intelligence or good-sense; after reading his fairy tale on Dmitri Royster, my opinion of him became lower (I didn’t think that possible). Either Terrence Mattingly is a power-hungry bastard who doesn’t care about reality, or, he’s a shallow and undiscerning Five Percenter exurbanite. I think that it’s a bit of both, but that it’s much more of the former than the latter. His latest effort would have you believe that Dmitri Royster was a living saint… and Rod Dreher droolingly sits in Mattingly’s amen corner on this.

Archbishop Dmitri was part of the “problem”; he wasn’t part of the “solution” vis-à-vis Russian Orthodoxy in the Americas. When he taught Spanish at SMU, prior to his ordination to the priesthood I believe, sources tell me that it was well-known that he was an active member of the homosexual community in Dallas. There are many questions concerning his relationship with Bishop José, the smart word out there is that Bishop José kept a “stable of young (underage) boys” that were “available” to serve the “needs” (LUSTS) of clergy from “up North” (don’t forget, Feodosy Lazor, Pierre l’Huillier, Nikolai Soraich, Joseph Swaiko, and Benjamin Peterson are openly spoken of as homosexual, and there are open questions on the sexuality of Seraphim Storheim and Bobby K). Some of these unfortunate boys were street urchins from Mexico City and elsewhere who were simply “picked up” for this purpose. The Internet “hagiography” simply doesn’t correspond with reality of the actual “ecclesiastical” life Dmitri actually lived. Firstly, don’t forget, he was a notorious poofter; I repeat, that’s something that’s been common knowledge for years.

The Greeks received Robert Royster into the Church as a young man in ‘41, then, he went to the EP Ukrainians under Bogdan Spylka, who had ties to the dubious Joseph Zuk, who had ties to the apostate Aftimios Ofiesh. Spylka NEVER made a good decision concerning convert clergy… he ordained twelve converts, all turned out crook to one extent or another. I noticed that oca.org mentioned the Spylka link; the hagiography in OrthoWiki did NOT. Supposedly, he and Bishop Bogdan clashed at about the time of St Seraphim’s founding (circa 1954) because Bishop Bogdan envisioned an “ethnic-style” parish and it’s claimed that Dmitri wanted a missionary-minded, English-speaking, pan-Orthodox community open to all Orthodox and those who might be interested in the Faith. That’s the “spin” on how he ended up in the Metropolia. I believe that there are other reasons for the split between Royster and Spylka… I believe that Bogdan heard of Dmitri’s homosexual escapades (people tell me that they were as notorious and open as Feodosy’s Neon Chicken high-jinks… Lone Ranger, anyone?), Bogdan hit the roof, and they parted.

Why did the Metropolia take in such a piece of spoilt goods? Back in the ‘50s, there was no internet… everyone depended on the grapevine and Baba’s Telegraph (which were efficient enough, God knows). The more ambitious clergy hated this situation… for the “hotline” kept the people informed of shenanigans amongst the more feral clerics (this present website is just a modern update of it, I’d say). Why did Dmitri get past this basic (yet, effective) filter? Some quarters saw Spylka as a semi-vagante due to his ties with Zuk and Ofiesh (and Nichols)… it was also the first time that ADS intervened in a Church situation… yes, Aleksandr Dmitrievich wanted Royster in to bolster his crackbrained fancies, and if he was a golubiye, who cared?

It’s all “coming out”… Fathausen needed Royster to die AFTER the Sobor… not BEFORE it. Now, everyone’s going to be looking at the fagorama down in Dallas… and they’ll draw the proper conclusions! DMITRI ROYSTER WAS JP’S MENTOR AND SPONSOR. I’m thinking of not only what went on in Dallas, but of all the scandals associated with Bishop José and the rest of his “celibates” in Mexico City, for Dmitri had deep ties with that bunch. After José’s death in 1983, the Church couldn’t find a single fit candidate for the Diocese of Mexico City, even though all or most of the clergy were celibate or monastic. Those in the know need no explanation here, as there were always controversial clergy in the Mexican Exarchate, for example, Fr José Raúl Valencia and his St Seraphim of Sarov Chapel in Tijuana BC for openers. Very interesting friends for a “Saint” and “Equal-to-the-Apostles”… oh, yes, Bishop José was a former RC priest with an advanced degree in canon law… as was true of Fr David Brum as well… interesting coincidence, isn’t it? When a RC priest leaves the Roman communion for the ragtag, quasi-canonical, “poor cousin” Orthodox backwater known as the OCA, it’s a red flag, no matter what anyone says.

Then, came ’77 and the Sobor in Montréal. The Centre was caught between a rock and a hard place back then… all the available options were bad. Both of the leading candidates for First Hierarch were notorious poofters according to the talk circulating, so, that means that Nikodim Rotov decided that Feodosy was the lesser of two evils (THAT’S interesting, to say the least). Remember, the OCA’s autocephaly has always been a sham… the Centre doesn’t counter the EP’s arguments against it, and its defence gets progressively weaker as time goes on. Don’t forget, the vote of the delegates for Metropolitan is a meaningless exercise (it’s a relic of Americanisation classes and Second Generation insecurity); canonically, only the Holy Synod decides on such, only its decision’s binding. Therefore, the entire tenor of Mattingly’s article’s flawed, crank, and without foundation in reality. He’s only read books… that’s all… it shows.

Here’s another titbit for you to feast on… back in ’73, Archbishop Dmitri was incensed that the Holy Synod consecrated that (in HIS words) “cross-eyed faggot” (Fr Joseph Swaiko) to the episcopate. If memory serves me right, Vlad Berzonsky Sr was of the same opinion (although I’m quick to notice that Berzonsky was straight; he isn’t a faygeler). Do notice how closeted homosexuals always attack one another… the food fight didn’t just start with Moriak and Stokoe, believe me… it’s entrenched in the institutional culture of the upper reaches of the OCA.

Finally, by their fruit ye shall know them. The Cathedral in Dallas is too emphatic on women wearing bedsheets on their heads; its approach to the services is almost fanatical, with absurdly-long services… and most of all, the Coneheads have an almost cult-like veneration of the “Vladyka”. I’m told that one of the clergy there (an ex-Episcopalian) is a flagrant flouncer. Don’t forget, we accepted people from the most homosexual-ridden faction in Anglicanism. Before I go… “Veronica Lake” still serves with JP… and JP sees nothing wrong in it!

Dmitri Royster was NO saint… he was an amiable, kind, and approachable human being who happened to be homosexual to the core. When you mix that with the white-hot Sectarian-style homophobia of the konvertsy, it’s a scream, isn’t it?
