2 December 2011. Fathausen Boasts of 6.3K Bucks Raised at Sobor

Read this. This is pathetic, kids. Let it sink in… they raised 6,300 bucks (196,000 Roubles. 4,700 Euros. 4,000 UK Pounds)… from about 600 people. I repeat, they only raised about 6 Gs when there were about 600 delegates present. That’s about ten bucks (310 Roubles. 7.50 Euros. 6.50 UK Pounds) a head. What cheap, chiselling, posturing phonies. They’re always pointing their fingers at other folks, boasting how “generous” they are, and pointing up how “tight” we are. Six Gs from 600 people… that’s chump change! If each of ‘em threw in a twenty, why, that would’ve DOUBLED the kitty. Ebenezer Scrooge before his enlightenment would think that performance disgraceful (he would’ve given more, so as not to look too cheap… give him his due).

Is this the best that these jabonies can do? Let me tell ya… Fr Joe Pishtey is looking down from Heaven in disgust. He’d routinely shake down Sobor delegates for fifty bucks a throw, and that was when money was worth something (a dollar in 1950 had the purchasing power of 40-50 contemporary baloney dollars). That is, he’d get the equivalent of 2,000 to 2,500 dollars (62,000-77,500 Roubles. 1,500-1,875 Euros. 1,300-1,625 UK Pounds) in today’s money. Hell, Warnecke and Hubiak weren’t slouches at the golden touch either. For that matter, Bobby didn’t just do “creative accounting”, he would’ve gotten at least a hundred from each delegate (the guy was corrupt, not an incompetent), and they would’ve applauded him, too.

They’re expecting PRAISE for this. Truly. They want you to APPLAUD them. They think that they did something MERITORIOUS and SACRIFICIAL. This is truly too much. Just when you think that they’ve plumbed the depths, and that they can sink no further… they find new abysses to dive into. Cross yourself, count to ten, and walk away. It’s useless talking to these sorts. They’re Orthodox analogues of Anders Breivik… they see themselves as shining White Knights out to save Orthodoxy from the Orthodox, when all they are is ignorant, stubborn, and deluded toddlers playing at religion. God do help us all.

A friend wrote me:

I’d love to know how much money they spent at the bars and restaurants!

I replied:

More than ten bucks a head! Betcha it was ten bucks a drink!

‘Nuff said!

The Vatopedi Delegation Distributed 4 Million “Belts” Blessed by Being Pressed to the Reliquary of the Belt of the Holy Mother of God to Russian Pilgrims

  • The location for future distribution of belts in Moscow is yet unknown
  • The organisers warned people about creating unhealthy hype around this event

The Vatopedi delegation distributed about 4 million “belts”, blessed by being pressed to the reliquary of the Belt of the Holy Mother of God, to Russians pilgrims during their tour of Russian cities from 20 October to 28 November. Of these, 1.3 million went to believers at the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour in Moscow, according to Vladimir Yakunin, the President of Russian Railways and the head of the St Andrew the First-Called Foundation, whilst speaking at a press conference in Moscow.

The record for the length of the queue to venerate the relic and the waiting time in it was set in Moscow… the queue was 6 kilometres (3.75 miles) long and the wait on line was 26 hours. In St Petersburg, the queue stretched for 3 kilometres (1.85 miles), in other cities, the queue went on for about 2 kilometres (1.25 miles). Yakunin said, “Perhaps, a large number of those who bowed before the relic were not fully ‘churched’. However, of course, people are searching for something to believe in”. In his view, the massive pilgrimage by Russians to the Belt illustrated the “true origins and the basic values of our society”.

For his part, Bishop Sergei Chashin of Solnechnogorsk (Patriarchal Vicar), Chairman of the Patriarchal Commission on Holy Things (святынь) and Pilgrimages, described the influx of people wanting to venerate the Belt with these famous words from Scripture, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief (The Gospel according to St Mark 9.24). Vladyki Sergei went on to say, “I think that’s the state of our nation. It’s both believing and sceptical at the same time. They want God’s help in their unbelief, crushed under by life’s difficulties”.

As reported earlier, the St Andrew the First-Called Foundation sponsored the tour of the Belt of the Most Holy Mother of God. During the duration of the tour, more than 3 million people bowed before the Belt, in Moscow alone, about a million did so. Responding to questions from journalists, the organisers couldn’t yet say where one could obtain “belts” blessed by being pressed to the reliquary in future, urging people not to create unhealthy hype around this event. Yakunin said, “You don’t need to create hype about the ‘what, where, and who’ of those who’ll hand out these belts. Let the Lord (Господь) decide. If you really need one, you’ll seek it out and find it”. In concurrence, Vladyki Sergei said, “It may be impossible for us to guarantee that all those seeking belts will receive one”. Previously, we assumed that the Church would distribute “belts” at one of the churches in Moscow, starting a week after the reliquary left Russia.

The Vatopedi monks usually bring the reliquary with the Belt of the Most Holy Mother of God once a year to a Greek city, in response to fervent requests from believers. Previously, Vatopedi Monastery had refused all requests from other countries, particularly from the USA and Romania, to bring the reliquary there. They made an exception for Russia. The reliquary first went to St Petersburg, and then went to Yekaterinburg, Norilsk, Vladivostok, Novosibirsk, Tyumen, Nizhny Novgorod, Diveyevo, Saransk, Samara, Volgograd, Rostov-on-Don, Stavropol, Kaliningrad, and Moscow. Originally, the belt was supposed to return to Mount Athos on 23 November, but the Vatopedi delegation extended its stay in Russia because of the unprecedented scale of the pilgrimage.

Editor’s Note:

This is a good time to bring up the topic of “vicar bishops”, for you’ll see that Bishop Sergei’s a “Patriarchal Vicar”, literally a “Vicar of the Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia” (викарий Патриарха Московского и всея Руси). That means that he’s an assistant to the patriarch, but isn’t a ruling bishop. Interestingly enough, it means that he’s a higher “rank” of bishop than the Blunder is, as Alfeyev is only a “Vicar of the Diocese of Moscow” (викарий Московской епархии). That’s to say, the Blunder is under the gimlet eye of the Old Master, Yuvenaly Poyarkov, the unsinkable satrap of the Diocese of Moscow under three patriarchs (Pimen Izvekov, Aleksei Rediger, and Kirill Gundyaev) since 1977.

He may wear a white hat, but the Blunder ranks LOWER in the hierarchy than the actual Patriarchal Vicars. He’s the first head of the DECR not to be a ruling bishop, and the first to have his department shrunk in size and influence. If that wasn’t enough, after His Nibs’ Night of the Long Knives on 31 March 2009, he lost 2/3 of the organisation, and he forfeited control over KMG’s REAL advisers, Mark Golovkov and Vsevolod Chaplin. This pretty-sounding and photogenic “empty suit” only fools Renovationist boobs and ignorant konvertsy. He only has control over ONE PARISH on Bolshaya Ordynka Street (which leads to the metonym “Bolshaya Ordynka” for the Blunder’s faction and establishment) in Zamoskvorechye Raion in central Moscow. If you want the TRUTH on the Blunder, do ask the people in England; they’ll give you chapter-and-verse on his abject failure in the Osborne Affair, and how Fr Mikhail Dudko had to clear away the mess that he left behind. Don’t be taken in by such PR stunts as the Blunder’s trip to Texas to schmooze up to the “Evangelicals”. None of it’s ever resulted in real policy change at the Centre (just as none of his pronouncements about forthcoming meetings of His Holiness and the Pope of Rome has ever come about).

All of this is meant to tell you that there are “Vicar Bishops” and there are “Vicar Bishops”… they’re not equal at all. The ranking goes as follows… first, there’s Metropolitan Yuvenaly, the Patriarchal Vicar of the Diocese of Moscow (Патриарший наместник Московской епархии) (literally, “Stand-in for the Patriarch in the Diocese of Moscow”, although technically a vicar, he’s actually a ruling bishop in all but name), then, the Patriarchal Vicars, followed by the Vicars of the various Dioceses. In short, the Blunder’s nothing but an organ-grinder monkey with a fancy title… and you can safely ignore everything written about him by SVS, Hans Jacobses, and “Josephus Falvius” at Byzantine Texas.

There be some silly wabbits out there, folks…

SPC: There are Alternatives to EU Membership, Serbs Manning the Barricades Should Persevere

The Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) issued a statement sending a message to both the Serbian authorities in Belgrade and Serbs in Kosovo.

The SPC statement on Friday advised the authorities “there are alternatives” to Serbia’s membership in the EU and called on Serbs manning the barricades in northern Kosovo to persevere. It also urged Kosovo Serbs “not to make decisions without taking into account the legal and democratically-elected central government in Belgrade”. The SPC demanded that the President and the government “not abandon the people of Old Serbia for the sake of a chimera, for the country’s status of a candidate for EU membership. The responsible political authorities and our political élite think that Serbia and the Serbian people as a whole have no other alternative [than EU membership]. Everybody else, including the idealised and mythologised European Union, disagrees with that formulation. The government shouldn’t be making decisions or changing its political tactics ‘on the fly’ without taking into account the vital needs and the position held by northern Kosovo Serbs, for whom this issue isn’t one of partisan and political calculations, but literally, it’s a question of ‘to be or not to be’”, the SPC Holy Synod said in its statement.

It addressed the EU membership bid as “a good desire and idea, justified by geopolitical, economic, and civilisational reasons”, but the statement added that if giving up Kosovo and Metohija… either directly or in a “creeping” manner… represented the price-tag for that membership, “then, the bid needs to be abandoned openly and honourably, and other options explored for a future in a multipolar world, one that’s already a reality. Whether such a perspective (of abandoning the EU bid) would deal more or less damage to the ruling coalition or to the opposition in the forthcoming election is absolutely unimportant and pointless, when taking into account the self-knowledge and dignity of our entire nation”. the statement went on to say that it’s important, but not enough, for state officials to repeat that they’d never recognise Kosovo as independent, and added that Serbia needs to be actively present in Kosovo and Metohija wherever possible and as much as possible.

“Our message to Serbs in northern Kosovo is, ‘Persevere as you’ve done before… you know best how you feel, not only spending these cold winter days and nights at the barricades, but also in your homes and elsewhere… but we’d also tell you to be wise, inspired by Christianity and the legacy of our honourable ancestors. You mustn’t allow anyone to provoke you; you mustn’t accept violence as a means of action. Your protests aren’t a display of defiance, arrogance, or a fad, but they’re a clear-cut display of your determination not to accept a diktat based on force and a violent imposition of change”, the statement said. The SPC further noted that the protests mustn’t turn into a rejection of negotiations, dialogue, and efforts to re-establish the previous status quo using peaceful means, adding that the deterioration in conditions came due to unilateral actions undertaken by ethnic Albanians and KFOR, which wasn’t in line with the mandate the forces received from the United Nations.

The Holy Synod also addressed KFOR soldiers, urging them to act in a spirit of neutrality, “and exclusively in the service of preserving peace, not to be the mailed fist of NATO or of powerful Western states that recognise the phantom state of Kosovo. We appeal to KFOR to desist from violently removing the barricades in the area of administrative line crossings, and especially from use of force against Serb civilians”, the statement said, also providing a list of all Serbs injured at the barricades during KFOR interventions. Such behaviour on the part of international forces “only feeds maximalism and insatiably whets the appetites of Arbanasi (Albanian) extremists, and could serve as an excuse to extreme individuals or some irresponsible group on the Serb side to use arms”.

The Synod added that human deaths on either side, regardless of who provoked them, would be a sin, crime, tragedy, and shame for everyone, and would result in the defeat and collapse of dialogue and peaceful efforts… the only real alternative to the current situation and the only strategy that can solve the crisis. “With all this in mind, we call on all true humanists and true believers… not only Christians, but also those in the Islamic world… to advocate peace and justice for all without exception, for freedom and dignity for everyone everywhere. If it’s true and if it perseveres, such effort would benefit all of us, especially, in equal measure, it would be important for both Serbs and Arbanasi (Albanians) in Kosovo and Metohija”, the SPC statement concluded.

2 December 2011. A Sad Day for the USA… Senate Approves Indefinite Detention Without Trial… God Willing, President Obama Will Veto This

This is the world that the Republicans want… is this what you want? I didn’t think so… you KNOW what to do next November. Do remember Pastor Niemöller’s  words: “Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak out for me”. I’m speaking out now… what about you?

NB to Russian Orthodox people:

Paffhausen, Potapov, Lyonyo, Whiteford, Reardon, Dreher, and all of the konvertsy support the Republican attempt to impose an untrammelled and brutish police state. Oppose them.

Read this. Note these sections:

The bill would require military custody of a suspect deemed to be a member of al-Qaeda or its affiliates and involved in plotting or committing attacks on the United States. American citizens would be exempt. The bill does allow the executive branch to waive the authority based on national security and hold a suspect in civilian custody. The legislation also would deny suspected terrorists, even US citizens seized within the nation’s borders, the right to trial and subject them to indefinite detention. Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Dianne Feinstein, (D-CA), had sought an exception to the provision for US citizens, but her effort failed, 55-45. …

The bill reflects the politically charged dispute over whether to treat suspected terrorists as prisoners of war or criminals. The administration insists that the military, law enforcement, and intelligence agents need flexibility in prosecuting the war on terror after they’ve succeeded in killing Osama bin Laden and Anwar al-Awlaki. Republicans counter that their efforts are necessary to respond to an evolving, post-9/11 threat, and that Obama’s failed to produce a consistent policy on handling terror suspects. The Senate rejected an effort by Feinstein to limit a military custody requirement for suspects to those captured outside the United States. The vote was 55-45. Feinstein said her goal was to ensure “the military won’t be roaming our streets looking for suspected terrorists”.

Let’s keep it simple. The Republican Party wants to smash its boot down full-force on the faces of all those that it labels “terrorists” without any legal hindrance whatsoever. “Enemies of the people”, anyone? That attitude lead Germany to Dachau and the USSR to the camps in the Betpak-Dala. In short, it means that the GOP wants nothing less than an American version of the Dirty War. The Republican filth is using the same rationale that the Argentine junta did… for the same selfish, power-hungry, and totalitarian reasons. Do we really need to go down that road?

Veto this, Mr Obama. You’ll guarantee your re-election by doing so.
