Tolkien Fans Celebrate the 120th Anniversary of His Birth

Fans of J R R Tolkien, the father of the fantasy genre, marked the 120th anniversary of his birth. At 09.00 UTC (13.00 MSK 04.00 EST 01.00 PST), they said the traditional short toast, “The Professor”… the author of the famous trilogy The Lord of the Rings taught at Oxford University. After surviving the trenches of World War I as a volunteer, Tolkien wrote a fairy tale in the early ’30s called The Hobbit, or, There, and Back Again. Construction of the Russian Orthodox Cultural and Spiritual Centre in Paris Will Begin in 2012

Vladimir Kozhin, the Managing Director of the RF Presidential Administration, said that the start of the start of construction of the Russian Orthodox cultural and spiritual centre in Paris is imminent. In an interview with Interfax, Kozhin said, “We signed a contract with Bouygues SA to build the facility. Now, we’re working with the drawings. After the New Year, we’ll begin construction work”. The Architectural Group of Manuel Yanovsky (France) and OOO Arkhgrup won the competition to develop the project for the building of the centre. Most of the money for the project will come from the RF government budget, but companies and individuals can contribute to this project as well.

The plot for the centre is ​​4,245 square metres (0.42 hectare, a little over an acre) in size, located on the Quai Branly in the 7ème arrondissement (arrondissement du Palais-Bourbon) of Paris, one of the most prestigious and visited quarters of the capital {it’s near the Eiffel Tower: editor}. The site shall contain an Orthodox church, administrative offices for the diocese, multi-purpose halls, an auditorium, a dormitory for seminarians, and a library. A large garden will take up the central part of the space. The Orthodox Cultural and Spiritual Centre in Paris will be a place where the local Russian community can hold meetings and cultural events, where Parisians can learn about Russian spiritual culture, and where Orthodox believers can come for spiritual care.

This is a spiritual battle which can only be won by overwhelming prayer. The future of the world is at stake because if America falls, there’s no longer a strong champion of freedom and a champion of the oppressed of the world. There must be an urgent call to prayer.

Such arrant rubbish speaks for itself. It’s utterly vacuous, untrue, and without warrant. If you take ANY stock in this, you serve Satan, full stop. Orthodox Christians should stop and reflect that Paffhausen, Potapov, Lyonyo, and others want to ally Christ‘s Holy Church with such slimy Sectarian nonsense. America’s NOT the champion of freedom and the champion of the oppressed… it’s a ravening beast, stomping on everyone weaker than it is, fit only to be shot between the eyes. You have a choice… Christ the Saviour, or, American Sectarianism and Anti-Christ. Yes… the choice IS that stark and clear.
