7 March 2012. It was Originally “International WORKING Women’s Day”…

______________________________

Originally, International Women’s Day was “International WORKING Women’s Day”, first celebrated in the USA on 28 February 1909, on the initiative of the Socialist Party of America. That was in the days before the US government’s attack on American socialists at the time of World War I. IWD is a holiday in Russia… and the rightwing scummers in Czechia are trying to abolish it… they don’t want working women (or men!) to have any real rights… we’re only cogs fit to labour for the One Percent owners, until we drop, then, they’ll kick us onto the compost heap. Healthcare? Silly wabbit… the Affluent Effluent need their McMansions and wetback nannies.

No… the fight ain’t over yet… in a very real sense, it hasn’t really started in America… but when it does…

Russian biologists successfully thawed the seeds of plants that fell into the “fridge” of the Siberian permafrost about 30,000 years ago, then, grew a few bushes of the fossil flora, publishing their findings in an article in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
