Moscow Urges West to Tone Down Anti-Assad Rhetoric

These Islamist terrorists are the darlings of the West… they’ve pledged to massacre the Alawis and drive out the Christians… remember that when you hear Victoria Nuland’s honeyed words. She’s a protégé of Strobe Talbott and Richard Holbrooke… the Butchers of the Balkans… ask any Serb. Do you want a repeat of the Kosovo fiasco?

On Friday, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said that Western allegations that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s régime is illegitimate are unacceptable. He observed that the anti-Assad stance is unlikely to foster a peaceful settlement in the conflict-torn country, saying, “In our view such opinions are counterproductive, as they give a false signal to the opposition that there’s no reason to engage in dialogue, that it’s better to expect help from NATO and the West, as was the case in Libya. We believe that this scenario’s absolutely inadmissible and it’ll have grave consequences for Syria and the stability of the situation in the region”. He also condemned Saudi Arabia’s recent decision to shutter its embassy in Syria, saying the move’s at odds with the general concept for easing the situation in the country. On Friday, four member states of the Persian Gulf Cooperation CouncilQatar, Kuwait, Oman, and the UAE… announced that they’d withdraw their diplomats from Damascus. Earlier this month, Bahrain, also a member of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council, recalled its diplomats from Syria.

Two Convicted For the Attack in the Minsk Metro Executed in Byelorussia

______________________________

On Saturday, Byelorussian television reported that the authorities carried out the death sentence against the principal accused in the case of the Minsk Metro bombing of last year, Dmitri Konovalov, as they had earlier for his accomplice, Vladislav Kovalyov. Kovalyov’s mother, Lyubov Kovalyova, who lives in Vitebsk, received a letter from the Supreme Court of Belarus informing her of the enforcement of the death penalty against her son. The letter had a postmark of 16 March, she said, noting, “The notice was dated by the Supreme Court on 16 March. Hence, they may have shot him before then. Perhaps, on 15 March“. Earlier, German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle {he’s a member of the Far Right laissez-faire Free Democratic Party: editor} demanded that Byelorussian President Aleksandr Lukashenko commute the death sentence of Dmitri Konovalov. He wrote, “I condemn the execution of the sentence pronounced by Kovalyov and regret that Byelorussian President Alexander Lukashenko ignored calls by the international community for a pardon”.

Editor’s Note:

Can’t you just see the condescension dripping from Westerwelle? His arrogance and hubris seep from his every pore. However, that’s Western Neoliberals (mistakenly called “conservatives” in the Anglosphere) for you. They consider themselves superior to us, and that’s that. We’re “little brown brothers” in need of “instruction” from our “enlightened” neighbours. Truly?

I’d say that two things shoot that down in flames. Firstly, let’s look at William Jefferson Clinton… his antics make Aleksandr Lukashenko look like an altar boy who never even peeped at a “feelthy pitcher”. Clinton employed James Carville and George Stephanopoulos, two of the most amoral and evil men ever to serve in politics. Why isn’t Herr Westerwelle agitated over THAT? They did things FAR worse than anything that Lukashenko allegedly did (and everyone bows and scrapes in front of them… that is, the politically-ambitious do).

Secondly, let’s take a case far closer to home for Herr Westerwelle and his Far Right cronies in Germany. At the time of German reunification, ex-DDR officials and civil servants were treated like shit by the likes of Herr Westerwelle. Virtually all of the officers and NCOs of the NVA were shitcanned without cause, without warning, and without a pension for their service. Note well that those who served the NAZI state get pensions… but that those who served the DDR do not. Trust me, it was the influence of creepozoids like the Free Democratic Party that gave us that situation. Nazis? No problem! Communists? Kick them in the face and titter like a lunatic! Ex-senior officers of the NVA had to work as cabbies or rent-a-cops… that’s what the Herr Westerwelles of this world did.

He’s got a lot of damned gall… but he’s not alone, is he? Just remember… the West hates the Orthosphere for rejecting its premises. You can’t expect true humanity and decent treatment from any of them, and that’s the way it is.

Coptic Patriarch Shenouda Dies at 88

Patriarch Kirill Gundyaev of Moscow and all the Russias (1946- ) and Coptic Pope and Patriarch Shenouda Roufail of Alexandria and all Africa (1923- ) together in Cairo… let our relations with the local Oriental Orthodox be similarly warm…

______________________________

According to Egyptian television, Coptic Patriarch and Pope Shenouda Roufail of Alexandria died Saturday at age 88. Recently, he was chronically ill, repeatedly undergoing treatment in the USA. Earlier, the Patriarchate reported that Pope Shenouda’s health had improved, the crisis was over, and that he was to serve liturgy. However, Pope Shenouda didn’t appear at any services.

Patriarch Shenouda III was the 117th head of the Coptic Church of Alexandria and all Africa. He was born 3 August 1923 in Asyut (Egypt). He graduated from Cairo University with a degree in history, combining this with a theological education at a Coptic seminary. In 1949, he received a theological degree. In monasticism, he took the name Antonios. In 1962, he became a bishop and head of the Coptic Church’s Higher Seminary. In 1971, the Holy Synod of the Coptic Church elected him the 117th Pope and Patriarch of the Coptic Church. He took the name Shenouda, and he was enthroned as patriarch on 14 November 1971. Shenouda’s been an active proponent of interfaith dialogue. The first head of the Coptic Church was Apostle St Mark, who brought Christianity to the land of Egypt, founding the first church in Alexandria. Egyptian Copts are the most significant Christian community in the Middle East. According to various sources, they comprise from 6 to 10 percent of the 85-million people in Egypt. In Cairo alone, there are 163 Coptic churches.

Patriarch Kirill Gundyaev of Moscow and all the Russias (1946- ) and Catholicos Karekin Nersessian (1951- ) of the Armenian Apostolic Church… we should emulate our patriarch in our relations with Oriental Orthodox…

______________________________

Editor’s Note:

Can you believe that there are bigots amongst us who say that the Copts aren’t Orthodox Christians? We aren’t in communion, true… but the Copts aren’t papists, they aren’t Proddies, and they aren’t Sectarians. His Holiness is personally friendly with all the Oriental Orthodox First Hierarchs, and that’s as it should be. We aren’t in communion, but we aren’t dissimilar. I’d follow the lead of the Mother Church in this… and they don’t endorse the extreme position taken by the bigots. These people are “family” (although “estranged” a bit at present)…

Вечная ему память!
