What Will the Cat Smell Out?

The press service of the Regional Office of the Federal postal service announced that a specially trained cat will “search” patrons at the central post office in Abakan, the capital of Khakassia, on April Fool’s Day. The authorities are using the spoof to raise awareness of the increase in robberies of Russian post offices.

On 26 March 2012, US and Russian Presidents Barack Obama and Dmitri Medvedev held talks in Seoul. Journalists found out that during his confab with Medvedev, Obama asked the Russian leader for “space” in negotiations on missile defence, until the end of the US presidential election. The reporters did hear the conclusion of the conversation before their joint press conference. Obama said, “This is my last election. After my election, I’ll have more flexibility”; Medvedev replied in English, “I understand. I’ll transmit this information to Vladimir“.

Editor’s Note:

Most commentators in the West misread the roles of Putin and Medvedev. Medvedev is NOT a ventriloquist’s dummy… he’s not a John Boehner, George W Bush, or Rick Perry… all of whom were (or are) nothing more than mouthpieces for their oligarch paymasters. As Western journalists are familiar with such empty-headed political running-dogs, they assume Medvedev’s the same sort. He isn’t… Putin brought back the New Roman/Old Russian idea of a “diarchy”… that is, “rule by partners”. Dmitri Anatolyevich proved that at the time of the South Ossetia War in ’08… he ably oversaw the initial Russian moves against the Georgian aggressors, and he stayed in Moscow at the head of the state apparat whilst VVP went to the front. There’s no doubt that VVP’s grooming DAM to be his successor as senior dyarch. Let’s give all the Western-outlet journalists a break, though… they’re just dirt-dumb ignorant, which is something that one can remedy. Shall they, though? Perspirin’ minds wanna know…

These people truly believe that torture’s OK, that every priest’s an angel, and that the One Percent DESERVE their riches. You can’t talk to them… I’ve tried. All it does is frustrate you, as they refuse to listen to facts. The ethnic Orthodox are salvageable… if you can come up with a Russian source, that CAN turn the trick. The Anglo-Saxons are impossible… they’re SUPERIOR, and that’s that. We’re paying for standing idly by as Schmemann, Meyendorff, and Saliba brought oddbodd stranniki into the Church. It’s going to be messy, but I think that we can re-establish the Old Church. It won’t be the old Metropolia and pre-1965 ROCOR, but we’ll know what doesn’t work, and what does. Baba and Dede were right (and not just about the Church… they were proud union people, they were…)…

******

I once heard a layman say to a seasoned Russian priest, “Oh, Father! The things these perverts do!” To which, the priest replied, “Today, married Orthodox perform the same perversions. I know. I’ve heard thousands of confessions. Let’s judge ourselves harshly and others leniently”. Good advice, no?

******

The administration’s sclerotic and Fathausen isn’t in control… Lyonyo and Bobby are ‘rasslin for power, and nothing’s stable. Sir Ray’s an interesting case… no one knows why JP really shitcanned him (if he did)… the OCA refuses to repudiate his suit against Michael Reagan. I think that the Bobby faction wants it to go ahead (and reinstate Ray), and that the Lyonyo faction opposes it (for reasons of hyperclericalism and CYA).

Bobby? As in Kondratick? Oh, my God… if he comes back… all hell will break loose.

Bobby NEVER left. He simply was given a church job down in Florida for 40 Gs a year.

I figured as much… I’ve always admired Patriarch Kirill… I wish that he’d visit the USA, kick Jonah out, and take over.

******

The older I get, the easier it is for me to say, “I don’t know”. One of the good things about running a news site is that you LEARN. It’s an education… truly, if you pay attention to what you report. Remember, most “journalists” aren’t REPORTERS, they’re COMMENTATORS (and that goes “double” for most “bloggers”). I seek out REALITY… not OPINION. At times, it’s chastening, and it’s always enlightening…

******

These people are dualistic fanatics of the worst sort; it’s funny, y’ know, the convert crowd are the most aggressive “heresy hunters” out there, and, yet, the dualism they exhibit makes an Old-School Gnostic look tame by comparison. I know many people hate the Gnostics, but I’ll take an honest Gnostic any day over a phoney and smirky “American Orthodox”. Their mean-spirited and vicious attacks are just symptoms of a larger sickness; a deep, pervasive, and, frankly, evil dualism that can only see the world through the lenses of their WASP Puritan ancestors. It’s very sick and scary, really.

******

We’re on the same page… identical? NO! That’s NEVER the case. As for me, I realise it’ll take three generations to put the Church here to rights. Healing is SLOW. VERY SLOW. I fell and hurt my shoulder a couple years back, and it took a year to knit together just right. I followed my doctor’s orders and took my meds. As I did so, it allowed my body to heal itself. Now, it’s as good as new… but it took a whole year. Institutions are much more “unforgiving”… there’s such a thing as “corporate memory”, and it takes a long time to heal that. The generation that witnessed the abomination has to pass on before the healing’s complete. That’s the way it is…

A friend wrote to me saying that “every” priest reads my website. That means that my responsibility’s the greater. I have to doublecheck things more thoroughly… I have to be careful as well as hard-hitting. It’s sad that the “official” news media in the Church in the diaspora is so poor… it’s good in the homeland. However, do remember that’s a result of the Rodina having been purged by the godless unbelievers, as a result, all the phonies are out of the Church now (we have some dumb jabronies and some clueless idiots, but NO Black Hundreds). We in the diaspora didn’t go through such a cleansing… ergo, we have all sorts of heretics and fanatics amongst us. They’ve taken over the Church… they think they “are” the Church (especially, SVS has a “l’église c’est moi” attitude, for instance). God’s justice grinds slowly, but it grinds exceedingly fine, they say. Don’t look at the official websites or listen to the seminaries… the sans culottes are stirring, and “a spectre is haunting Europe”.

“What is to be done?”

Be good, and enjoy Easter (you’ll be busy until then, I’ll warrant). God is GOOD… that’s why we celebrate. Keep it focused.

******

Don’t let the bastards get you down. I know, it’s like playing “Whack-a Mole” with them, you hammer them down, but they continue to pop up. In the end, they’ll have to answer for their beliefs and behaviour, and the result won’t be pretty for them when they get the final “whack” from the One who counts.

******

Honesty and character cut across all creedal, class, racial, and political lines… and Stein doesn’t have it. If you don’t want to follow your orders, you’re not a good soldier. Even if we disagree on many other things, we agree upon that (and I’ve got your back, dear… trust me on that). That’s why such sorts are dangerous… they choose whether to have your back, and you can’t have that.

Reuters reported that market regulators and Facebook, which is the world’s largest social network, warned employers that requiring job applicants to give the log-in ID and password of their Facebook account is unacceptable as it could lead to legal difficulties concerning laws on privacy and personal confidentiality.

Editor’s Note:

The main threat to civil liberties isn’t from the government… it isn’t from academe… it isn’t from “political correctness“… and it isn’t from the Democratic Party (all of its support for the One Percent, notwithstanding). The main threat to liberty comes from the multinational corporate squid and its political running-dogs in the Republican Party. If you vote for the Republican Party, for any of its candidates, you vote for a corporate-enabled neofascist dictatorship with theocratic tinges. Any questions?
