3 November 2012. Interesting Stuff Heard in the Agora… Bethesda Parish Commemorated Fathausen Last Week

______________________________

I heard some interesting things from multiple sources in the loggia. Last week, apparently, St Mark parish in Bethesda MD “commemorated” Fathausen during the service. I don’t know the exact nature of the “commemoration”, but since I heard of it, it’s clear that Golitzine heard of it, too. That means that he failed to discipline this wayward bunch for their oddbod action. The only hierarchs that one names in the service are the ruling bishop and the First Hierarch; this gives the whole affair its “imprimatur“. That is, the Bethesda parish had no business “commemorating” Fathausen. Of course, this is Sir Ray’s old parish; it’s full of Hard Right rebels and delusionaries. That means that Golitzine is “soft” on the Fathausen crowd… a very bad sign, indeed.

In related news, Golitzine appointed Perich Adminisrator of St Nick’s in the District. That means that Golitzine is willingly in Bobby’s camp, or, Bobby is using him as his new sock-puppet (Fathausen being spoilt goods). It also means that Tikhon Mollard is in Bobby’s circle. That’s a good reason to vote against him at the Sobor. There’s a stark choice… Tikhon Mollard and business as usual, or, Mel Pleska and a clean slate. The delegates at the Sobor should choose the latter. It’s clear that the Blunder‘s moving Heaven and Earth to elect Tikhon… ponder this… the Blunder is the most-hated bishop in the MP. Do you really want to stand with such a deceitful and treacherous POS? Do think on it…

3 November 2012. A Point to Ponder… VOTE! For Our Future’s Sake…

______________________________

On Election Day, we can can choose one of two routes… we can have an imperfect social democracy, trying to make society better, or, we can have a rapacious corporate kleptocracy dedicated to perpetual warfare in foreign parts, the enrichment of the Affluent Effluent, and the cudgelling of the weakest amongst us. Vote for the Prez… he’s no prize, but he’s not the alternative. Do think on that.

Do the adult thing… vote for the “least bad” candidate… for there’s NEVER a “good” one, I fear. Vote for Barack Obama… hold the bastards back…

Ils ne passeront pas! ¡No pasarán!

Patriarch Kirill Offers Prayers for Those Injured and Killed by Hurricane Sandy

______________________________

Patriarch Kirill Gundyaev of Moscow and all the Russias shall offer prayers for those killed and injured in the USA during the battering by Hurricane Sandy. In a message sent to US President Barack Obama on Friday, he offered condolences to the bereaved families and said that he foresaw a concerted American effort to fix the damage from the superstorm. The damage from Sandy was estimated at 50 billion USD (1.6 trillion Roubles. 39 billion Euros. 31.2 billion UK Pounds). Almost 100 Americans lost their lives, and about 4 million are still without electricity.

Editor’s Note:

Nothing up on oca.org on this. Either Lyonyo didn’t get the word in advance or he’s too busy trying to patch up the leaky Parma Sobor. Whichever one it is (I think that it’s a combination of the two), it’s not good news for the Syosset/SVS set. Some are saying that the damage in Syosset and SVS is God’s vengeance… that’s ridiculous. It was a natural occurrence, nothing more. It’s a natural result of living in a fallen world…

3 November 2012. Interesting Cabinet Input on the Jerusalem Situation… The Greeks May Have Contributed to Their Downfall

______________________________

One of the Cabinet sent me this:

Sadly, I think that one of the reasons for this is that the Greek clergy from Jerusalem were buying villas in Athens. It’s been going on for decades…

In short, the owners of the private waterworks in Jerusalem saw that there were some flush clergy in the Holy Sepulchre and decided to snag some of the swag for themselves. It’s still not right… but one can see how the Greek clergy incited the businessmen’s greed (always an easy thing to do). It does explain why the Israeli government‘s doing nothing. There are factions that want to restrict Christians, and greedy clergy simply gave them an excuse (in this case, to do nothing, which harms the Church at large). My remarks on deregulation stand… if the municipality were still in control of the water, this wouldn’t have happened. However… the Israelis probably would’ve come up with other ways to make life “interesting” for the more sticky-fingered members of the Brotherhood of the Holy Sepulchre (which is what this brouhaha’s all about, I’ll wager).
