Top-shelf intel from the Cabinet:
Vladyki Job essentially started Christ the Saviour. He consecrated the church in 2008. Here is the history of the parish. The history of the building itself is very interesting. It is right next to the diocesan chancery, which means that it’s right next-door to the building that houses the bishop’s residence. It served as a chapel for Vladyki Job. I don’t think that Job granted Christ the Saviour parish status until maybe about the time of its consecration.
Therefore, whilst there may very well be former Episcopalians amongst Christ the Saviour’s parishioners, it was most definitely not a start-up from the Anglicans. The building did come from an Anglican-offshoot group. The first priest who served consistent services was a former Lutheran pastor.
Christ the Saviour is also where Moriak was consecrated, since the altar area at Holy Trinity wasn’t large enough to hold all the bishops. Moriak made no bones of the fact that he much preferred Christ the Saviour to Holy Trinity. That’s not a surprise, as Christ the Saviour’s rector is extremely conservative {in the American political sense: editor}. Moriak made a decision that many in the diocese aren’t happy about. Essentially, Moriak merged Christ the Saviour with the diocese. The priest at Christ the Saviour was Moriak’s personal secretary. Diocesan council minutes explain this (under “Bishop’s report” here and here).
Reportedly, the dean of Holy Trinity Cathedral announced this morning that next Sunday would be Moriak’s last Liturgy there. So, with the liturgy today at Christ the Saviour, and, then, next Sunday at Holy Trinity, is it a “farewell tour?” I’d have to bet many in the diocese would call it a “good riddance” tour. I’d say to Moriak, “Don’t let the door hit you on the ass on your way out”.

Whoever is letting Moriak reach out to his benighted supporters has rocks in their head for brains. Now, that this is “out there”, I can post the following:
SOURCE ONE:
Moriak won’t be allowed back in Chicago. The Synod wants to retire him, but he refused, and they’re not allowing him to serve… he’s upset because he’s done what they wanted and was sure that he’d be back as ruling bishop.
SOURCE TWO:
My sources tell me that the Synod offered Moriak a choice… resignation or forced retirement. He refused to resign. It’s just a matter of when they force him to retire… at the next Synod meeting, whenever that is.
SOURCE THREE:
The next Synod meeting isn’t until October! Do you think they’ll wait that long?
******
Are these “visitations” by Moriak kosher, or, are they roll-your-own set-ups by his extremist pals? It doesn’t seem right… it has a fishy smell about it, and I’m not the only one smelling it. To let this jabronie rally his claque is STOOPID. Truly, Lyonyo wouldn’t allow it… neither would the Synod (including Peterson and Liolin… the only bishop that I can think of that would sign off on such inanity would be Maymon). This has the feel of REBELLION. Sources tell me that one of the HS bishops is “depressed”… well; the above would be enough to drive anyone to the bottle and more. This situation is getting out of hand quickly… don’t let this creepo supremo rally the peanut gallery. You’ll be sorry if you do.
This typifies the corrosive rot at the core of the OCA. We have a “retired” Metropolitan using a lawyer to threaten the Holy Synod (Paffhausen). We have a suspended priest allowed to function as a priest by a GOAA parish (Velencia). We have a deposed priest, acting as a parish administrator, who’s been nicked by the coppers in Florida (Kondratick). We have a bishop shitcanned for gross incompetence (Soraich). We have a bishop still serving after having been arrested in California (Peterson). Now, we have a bishop in the Midwest, given the boot for sexual misconduct, being allowed to rally his extremist supporters (Moriak).
What’s wrong with this picture? Do note that three of the six individuals named above were protégés of Love BT (Paffhausen, Peterson, and Soraich), and another (Kondratick) was his close ally. If shitbirds of a feather flock together (and they do), that tells you much about Love BT’s (lack of) discernment and judgement. Love BT sheltered the HOOMies, David Brum and John Dresko, and Gerasim Eliel’s bunking in with him at Michelorena Street. In short, if there’s a “villain” in this sorry soap opera, it’s Tikhon Fitzgerald. He’s retired, so, he’s out of office, but he does have a loud claque (I’ve run into it… they’re nasty sorts all ‘round). Remember, the Orthodox Forum moderators told BT, “You’ll have to follow the same rules that everyone else does”. That angered him and he stomped off in a huff.
Who’ll bell the cat? I’m just a powerless laywoman…
