Patriarch Youhanna of Antioch Held a Vigil in Lebanon for Kidnapped Orthodox Bishops

01 Arab Orthodox in Beit Jala

On Saturday, Christians in Lebanon held a candlelit vigil for two archbishops captured in Syria in April, appealing to their kidnappers to free them and urging Syrian security forces to do more to win their release. Greek Orthodox Patriarch Youhanna al-Yazigi of Antioch and all the East led around 300 people in the vigil near the Lebanese city of Tripoli to call for the release of his brother, Greek Orthodox Archbishop Boulos al-Yazigi, and Syriac Orthodox Archbishop Yohanna Ibrahim. The archbishops, seized near Aleppo on 22 April, are the most senior church figures caught up in the battle between Syrian President Bashar al-Assad‘s forces and the mainly-Sunni Muslim rebels trying to overthrow him. Patriarch Youhanna said, “It hurts our soul to see what is happening in our homeland”. The Syrian Civil War has killed 93,000 people, driven 1.6 million refugees abroad, and left many more homeless inside Syria. Many Christians feel vulnerable to the sectarian dynamic of the conflict, with hardline Islamist brigades becoming increasingly-powerful in the rebel ranks. Syrian authorities blamed the abduction on a “terrorist group”, the label they usually give to the rebels, but opposition fighters in Aleppo denied they’d kidnapped the archbishops. Patriarch Youhanna said that he appreciated the efforts of Syrian security services to free the clerics, saying, “However, we nevertheless wonder about their inability in this regard. Are they really incapable of doing anything?”

The West Despises Russian Patriotism and Christianity and Works Hard to Crush Both

00 Russia. Victory Day. 'Immortal Regiment' March. 10.05.13

Young people with placards of their grand-dads who fought in the VOV. It’s called the “March of the Immortal Regiment”. Patriotism is still in fashion in Russia… especially, amongst Communists and Christians (the two groups largely overlap).

From constant negative press (seems the rule of thumb is three negatives for any one positive) to endorsements for corrupt Western values, the onslaught in the cultural war is never-ending. Be it the blocking of Russian channels by Western cable to the push by international sodomites to run as many offensive parades as possible through the streets of Russian cities to the endless Western support and cheerleading for Islam in Russia, the assault never rests. Any radical movement or event is blown out of all proportion and echoed without end in every news outlet, positive developments (if even reported) are shown as flukes of nature or the results of Russians doing something duplicitous to get it. The West’s war against Russia never took a break; now, it can’t be claimed that it’s a war against the USSR. Many of its top proponents have come out and have flatly shown themselves to be the Russophobes that they are…to the applause of Western élites in general.

Why do they hate us? Because they fear us, because they fear that we stand in the way of their dreams of utopia. Russia’s religious and cultural revival isn’t just perceived as a threat to the Western élites, they also see it as a threat to their control of the whole of Eastern Europe, especially the Orthodox countries. God forbid, it might give Germans or Frenchmen the idea that their culture shouldn’t be subverted by the bland and neutral Anglo-Saxon Corporate non-culture. God forbid, those same Germans or French might get the idea that what they have is worth fighting for. Moreover, God forbid, Russia might, once more, take up her historic role as defender of Orthodox Christianity in Europe and Christianity in general in the Muslim world. The owner of many of the souls of the Western élite wouldn’t be happy. The light of truth shames the Devil and the souls that he owns.

Editor’s Note:

There’s something meaty to reflect upon. By being a Langley asset, Victor Potapov aids the enemies of Russia (and of the Orthosphere, in general). By supporting the American Enterprise Institute, James Paffhausen does the same. By standing up for the so-called Acton Institute, Hannes Jacobses does likewise. By working for rightwing stinktanks, Rod Dreher and Terrence Mattingly also throw stones at our co-religionists. That should tell us something. These worthies (and those who support them) aren’t “of us”… they may be “with us” for the time being, but they’re not “bone of our bone and flesh of our flesh”. Potapov’s inclusion in this list makes it clear that this isn’t an ethnic/convert issue.

Let’s keep it simple. Those who support Russia and the Orthosphere are on the side of the Light. Those who support the USA and the West (and its putrid Corporate non-culture) are on the side of the Darkness. It’s quite that simple… there’s no other choice on offer. Choose well…

Pro Life: Do You Want Socialist Reality or Republican Blathering?

00 Cuba. Pro-Life. 22.06.13

Socialist Cuba has much less abortion (by percentage) and stricter laws than the USA does. To wit:

  • 1st Trimester: Abortion on demand
  • 2nd Trimester: Abortion only to save the mother’s life OR for grossly deformed/non-viable outside womb baby
  • 3rd Trimester: NO abortion except to save the mother’s life

EVERY social benefit needed exists to offer a woman the possibility to choose Life. Cuba works with Catholic nuns (as well as secular outfits) to provide adoption or good… well-regulated and monitored… orphanages. Cuba, the demonised little socialist realm to our south, puts Republicans TO SHAME with its REAL pro-Life stance! On top of all this, Russia’s had an uptick in its birth rate due to state supports to poor mothers and increased family benefits. Sensible government intervention WORKS… it isn’t what the Republicans say about it at all. THEY LIE. They lie because they want to put needed money for social benefits into their already-bloated boodle bags. Nasty grasping mofos, aren’t they?

Which party is it that slashes all social aid benefits that offer a woman a viable alternative to abortion? It’s NOT the Communist Party of Cuba! It’s none of the political parties in Russia! It’s the Republican Party with its big talk about “freedom”… you’re free to starve… you’re free to be groped by the TSA… you’re free to labour at a pittance for a crapitalist boss (who’ll tell you that you’ll get pie in the sky when you die if you give yer heart to Jayzuss and be a good little toadie). BIG DEAL… that’s no freedom… that’s SLAVERY. Their life stance is wicked and without merit.

HH is pals with Gennady Andreyevich… he’s NOT pals with the Russian analogues of John Boehner and Mitch McConnell. I wonder why…

00 RIA-Novosti Infographics. Chronicle of the October Coup d' État. 2011

On 25 October/7 November 1917 in Petrograd, an armed uprising broke out that ended with the capture of the Winter Palace and the proclamation of a Soviet government, which lasted for more than seventy years. Celebrations on 7 November (25 October Old Style) began immediately after the event; it was the USSR’s main holiday… the Day of the Great October Socialist Revolution. Under Stalin, the final shape and traditions of the holiday took hold… a workers’ rally, the appearance of state and Party leaders on the Lenin Mausoleum and, finally, a military parade on Red Square. The entrances of Red Square were specially refurbished to facilitate all this. Even on 7 November 1941, when the Fascists were advancing on Moscow, this programme was still adhered to. The troops who paraded on Red Square went straight from the parade to the front. The influence of this parade on the course of events was equal to that of a major military operation. The fascists had planned to hold a military parade in Red Square on this day to celebrate their capture of Moscow. In the 70s, the situation began to change. The Day of the Great October Socialist Revolution was still an official holiday, but it gave way to Victory Day and New Year’s in the people’s feelings. People were still sent from their workplaces to participate in the rally, but it was more of a duty than a pleasure. On 21 July 2005, President Vladimir Putin signed a Federal Law “On Amendments to Federal Statutes on Days of Russian Military Glory”. The new law established memorial days to commemorate victories of the Russian army that played a decisive role in the history of Russia, and to mark memorable dates in the history of the Motherland associated with the most important historical events in the life of the state and society. Among these official memorial dates, 7 November became Day of the 1917 October Revolution (it also commemorates the anniversary of the 1941 parade).

Editor’s Note:

Some are writing that the influence of the USSR is waning in contemporary Russia. Nothing is farther from the truth. Some, such as Victor Potapov, say such to please their Western cronies and paymasters. Others say such because they must… it’s the official “party line” of the “Jordanville gang” and ROCOR First Families (Drobot, Lukianov, Larin, Krassovsky, et al). So, if you see something written by a rank n’ file priest… be kind, they have to say what they’re saying, the First Families are nastier than the Organy ever were (their OCA counterparts are just as bad… the Schmemann, Meyendorff, Berzansky, and Kishkovsky families, amongst others, are cut from the same bolt of maggoty cloth… they’re identical under the skin, dontcha know). Ironic, ain’t it… those who claim to be hardcore anti-communists are the most vociferous exponents of Orwellian goodthinking and peerless practitioners of Marxist-Leninist Political Correctness (they’re joyless enforcers of the General Line of the Party). Who woulda thunk it…
