Look carefully at the middle “panel”, and look at the central (and highest) dome of St Basil Cathedral. Yolkin makes it seem as though the building has a sardonic smile as the Vuitton pavilion stamps off the Square. Another Yolkin “visual pun”…

The “golden pistol” is in reference to a fight two RF Gosduma deputies had in an office, and a gun “fell out” of a deputy’s pocket or he brandished it. Now, everyone says that it was all a big misunderstanding. However, the Speaker did say that he wouldn’t tolerate fights, as they do in the Ukrainian Rada. Martin Van Buren (“the Little Magician”) would’ve been at home (American congressmen of his day carried canes, swords, daggers, and pistols into the chamber, besides chewing tobacco and spitting into spittoons in the midst of debate)…

Sergei Yolkin looks at the Ukrainians on the Maidan, the taking down of the Louis Vuitton pavilion on Red Square, and how a golden pistol dropped from a deputy’s pocket during a fight.
