The above images are of Mil Mi-24 assault helicopters of Armenian Frontal Aviation. Armenia is in a rough-ass neighbourhood, with hostiles on its borders. Ergo, it behoves them to cleave to those who’ll have their back in the clutch. Russia has always stood by Armenia. Indeed, the Mi-24 is a Russian-made craft. Recently, Armenia chose to join the TS EvrAsES NOT the EU… that pissed off the Americans mightily. Well, I’d say that the Armenians made the only sane decision open to them, given their situation. Armenia is safe because Russian forces are inside the country. To be blunt, the USA wouldn’t guarantee Armenia against Turkey and Azerbaijan. Indeed, given American actions in Iraq and Afghanistan, and American indifference to Turkish and Azerbaijani pogroms against Christians, Armenia faced a no-brainer. Would they join with Russia, who WOULD help them when the shit hit the fan, or, should they join with the USA, who’d leave them to the tender mercies of the Turks and Azerbaijanis? After all, Armenia doesn’t want a repeat of 1915!

Armenia did the only thing open to it. Besides, both Russia and Armenia are part of the Orthosphere. Why count on strangers when the neighbours are at hand? Russia and Armenia… friends forever!

On Friday, Captain First Rank Vadim Serga, a Russian Navy spokesman, said that Northern Fleet combat aircraft would extend the ranges of their patrol flights over the Arctic in 2014 using a network of revamped Soviet-era airfields, saying, “In 2014, naval aviation units of the Northern Fleet will significantly expand the geography of Arctic patrol flights, especially, by using Temp airfield {on Kotelny Island: editor} on the New Siberian Islands”. Captain Serga said that Tu-142 and Il-38 ASW/maritime patrol aircraft carried out over 30 patrol missions in the Arctic last year. In December, President Vladimir Putin ordered the armed forces to boost their presence in the Arctic and complete development of military infrastructure in the region in 2014. Minoborony announced plans to deploy a combined-arms force in the Arctic by 2015.

The following is sincere, honest, and to the point, but it’s completely wrongheaded and it proves Pope Francisco’s thesis that some are obsessed with relatively-peripheral issues. Read this… it shows you how the rightwing mind operates:

I was disappointed in the way my views were portrayed in Conservative US Catholics Feel Left Out of the Pope’s Embrace. I applaud Pope Francisco for his concern for the poor and his focus on poverty, and I appreciate his warnings against materialism and a lack of tolerance. My main concern regarding the pope is the confusion caused by some of his interviews, including a perceived acceptance of moral relativism and a marginalising of the pro-life movement. I’m concerned about losing common ground with other Christians if the Catholic Church is perceived as diluting some of its core moral teachings. For those of us in the pro-life movement who believe that abortion is a human rights issue, it was quite disheartening to hear Pope Francisco refer to efforts to save the lives of innocent unborn children and helping women in crisis pregnancies as “obsessed”. I’m not anti-pope. Popes are infallible only when speaking ex cathedra on matters of faith and morals. Pope Francisco’s off-the-cuff remarks during an interview don’t have to be supported to remain a Catholic in good standing.

The Catholic Church isn’t diluting any of is central moral positions. What Pope Francisco condemns is the identification of the so-called “Pro-Life Movement” with Hard Right politicians and blocs. This upsets Ms Kurt greatly. No doubt, she supports the Republican Party because it’s “Pro-Life”. Pope Francisco retorts, “No… they support evil economic policies and spread war throughout the world. If you love life, if you love your neighbor truly, you’ll fight that!” Note her arrogant and peevish outburst:

In other words, she’s a “cafeteria Catholic”… she’s going to decide what she’s going to follow and what she won’t. My, my, my… that’s what they accuse “Liberal” Catholics of doing! Isn’t it delicious? The Catholic righties are pissed off that their pope doesn’t support their Hard Right notions. Well, kids, get used to it. Pope Francisco isn’t a European… he’s from South America. What are they going to do when he speaks of the illegal and immoral English occupation of the Malvinas? That’ll fry their ice but good…

Don’t read too much into this. It’s a self-centred rightie angered that they didn’t get their way. However, it does prove one thing… when faced with a situation that demands discipline, the righties fly off the handle and throw tantrums. “I don’t have to support the pope to be a Catholic in good standing!” Don’t they sound like sedevacantists and Lefebvrites? The world is a passing strange place and full of contradictions and oddities, indeed, but sometimes it can get downright IRONIC.

Don’t laugh too hard… they truly believe that they’re better and more moral than the rest of us…

Weigel supports American warmongering in foreign parts, which included the American-fomented War in South Ossetia (Colonel General Novogitsyn testified to that). Weigel’s a nice guy with great pals, ain’t he?

George Weigel crawled out from underneath his rock… of course, he’s bleating away on the Ukraine (click here for his trashy submission). In his eyes, the Great White Hope of the Ukraine is the UGKTs… but he doesn’t tell you that the UGKTs represents less than 10 percent of the Ukrainian population. He also doesn’t tell you about how the UGKTs blessed SS VOLUNTEERS in the VOV. Weigel also doesn’t tell you that the main Church in the Ukraine remains the UOC/MP. In all of his dreck, he rarely mentions Vladyki Vladimir Sabodan. Needless to say, for him, Talerhof didn’t happen, Ss Maksim Sandovich and Aleksei Kabalyuk are nonentities, the Galizien Division were patriots, he marginalises Fr Dmitri Sidor, Bandera’s a hero, and Yushchenko’s a martyr. In short, Weigel is EVIL and no Orthodox Christian should have anything to do with him or his ilk.

I felt dirtied just by reading his rubbish. Nevertheless, READ IT. It’s what many in the Russophobic Catholic hierarchy truly believe about us. Yet, don’t take it out on ordinary RCs… they didn’t make the policies, and most of them don’t even know that they exist. However, do read Weigel’s nonsense as it tells you what the official papists really say about us behind our backs. I admire Pope Francisco’s political and social stands… I oppose the church that he heads. I’d give a warning, though… Weigel and his ilk oppose their pope’s social teaching… and some of them have access to Western intel agencies. Remember 1948… Langley engineered a coup against Ecumenical Patriarch Maximos Vaportzis. I’d advise Francisco to watch his back.

To end this, I’ll quote the Carpatho-Russian delegation that met Patriarch Aleksei Simansky in 1946:

We’re strongly opposed to joining our territory to the Ukrainian SSR. We don’t want to be Czech nor Ukrainian, we want to be Russian (Ruthenians); we want our land autonomous, but within the USSR.

Now, that’s TRUTH… and it’s a good antidote to all the shit spouted by Weigel. Keep it focused.
