Any Russian would immediately understand this cartoon and “laugh out loud” (to us, it’s a real LOL). The Wolf is one of the two protagonists in the famous multifilm series Ну, погоди! (Nu, Pogodi!: Well, Just You Wait!). The Wolf could never catch the Hare, his nemesis… just like the Coyote with the Roadrunner, no? By the way, the cartoonists modelled the Wolf after the famous Soviet actor Vladimir Vysotsky… another point that Russians would immediately catch. Vysotsky was a “bad boy”, who died young, but who was THE iconic figure of his generation… many Russian actors and pop musicians still draw inspiration from him today.

The internet, in its now-familiar global iteration, might disappear in 2014, replaced by dozens of individual national networks with limited access to foreign resources. Sergei Yolkin gives us a picture of that…

Facebook, the world’s largest social network, is developing the “Sympathise”… an analogue of the “Like” for situations with which this attitude is incompatible… but it didn’t announce the exact date it plans to launch the feature. Sergei Yolkin has a thought or two on that…

12 January 2014. Western Media Continues to Flog False Story that Church Wants a Vote to Criminalise Homosexuality in Russia

00 Symphonia. 01.10.12

______________________________

The Western media refuses to see reality for what it is. There’s no official move by the Patriarchate of Moscow and all the Russias to push for a referendum criminalising homosexuality. Sky News is the latest outlet to issue this absolutely false red herring. There is NOTHING on patriarchia.ru about this… patriarchia.ru is the OFFICIAL no-nonsense no-bullshit website of the Church. IT HAS NOTHING CONCERNING THIS “PROPOSAL!” That means that the Church accepts the state’s position that it WON’T change the UK. That’s what symphonia is all about, kids.

My take is that Vsevolod Anatolyevich was speaking tongue-in-cheek after Okhlobystin’s outrageous Tweet. Remember, Fr Vsevolod has a sterling sense of humour… he once said, “The Patriarch and the Pope are going to have a meeting… in Antarctica, on an ice floe, with the penguins as witnesses”. Another time, as he was in a car passing FSB headquarters, he made like he was “shooting” the guard (the guard, knowing Fr Vsevolod, merely laughed his head off). In short, the guy’s known for pulling the wool over the eyes of credulous and ignorant zapadniki.

Early April Fool’sit’s a joke, son
