16 February 2014. An Update on the Condition of Fr Igor Burdikoff

On 27 December, I reported that Fr Igor Burdikoff suffered a stroke. I can offer an update on his condition. He’s home from hospital; a righteous source told me the following:

Don’t say that he’s “limited”… that implies that he’s homebound, but he’s seventy years old and he has to learn to “slow down”. Thank God, he’s got a parish that knows how to say “no” to him.

From my own observations, there’s been a slight diminution of his physical powers, especially, in movement and in a slight speech impairment (not much, to be sure, but noticeable to anyone who knows him). That is, it wasn’t CRITICAL… but it was bad enough, and he’s still on the mend. That being so, keep him in your prayers, keep lighting candles for him, and do pester your priest to keep mentioning his name at the Proskomidi. That’s what Christians do…

Lately, the Uniates have put out much flapdoodle on the present Ukrainian crisis. They want us to believe that all “Ukrainians” want to kiss the Pope‘s naked ass and that they all want to lay down and be fucked by the USA, EU, and IMF. That’s not true. Take a look at this vid. LOOK at the crowd. It’s large, isn’t it? Trust me, the Uniates are a minority… they’re loud, but they’re a minority. The pro-Russian people outnumber them. I don’t advocate hatred… I don’t advocate violence, but if they don’t shut up, it’ll rile decent folk into repressing them… HARSHLY.

Frankly, Yanukovich should jettison the provinces that were part of interwar Poland. Let them go. Let them eat their “freedom”… after all, they’re parasites on the rest of the Ukraine (their income is lower and they don’t have any natural resources or industry to speak of) . They’ll find that the EU is a harsh mistress… as the Greeks did.

As for the loud Uniate voices on the web…

Don’t argue with them… but do oppose them. Stay out of their fora, stay out of their commboxes, and don’t let them rile you… spread the truth when you can (it’s why the UN and Council of Europe rejected the Holodomor fable). If you run a blog or website, beware of one “Josephus Flavius”… don’t argue with him… spam him. We live in perilous times and there be some “interesting” sorts out there. Have a care…

Many of you know my of my neologism, the “Orthosphere“… that is, the lands where Orthodoxy (both Eastern and Oriental) maintains either a majority or strong presence. The Orthosphere is a sociological/philosophical/intellectual/cultural construct… it’s NOT merely religious. Ergo, people not “in communion” in the religious sense ARE “in communion” in a cultural sense. Confused? Let’s make it murkier, kids… Uniates “look” Orthodox, but they’re NOT part of the Orthosphere. That’s because they’ve sold out completely to the papist mindset. Ergo, even though we’re not “in communion” with Copts, Armenians, and Ethiops, we ARE part of a unified Christian worldview with them, neither Papist nor Protestant. Even though the Uniates “look like us”, they’re NOT of us… they’ve sold out to the West and to its blandishments. Remember our history… how Russia aided the Assyrian Christians in World War I and how Russian officers served alongside Ras Makonnen in whipping the Italians (especially, Nikolai Leontiev of the Kuban Cossack Host).

Russia Plans to Erect Memorial to Cold War Soldiers in Moscow

On Tuesday, Frantz Klintsevich, deputy head of the RF Gosduma Defence Committee said that a memorial commemorating Soviet soldiers who died in conflicts around the world during the Cold War era will be built in Victory Park (Park Pobedy) in Moscow. The memorial will form an architectural ensemble around an existing monument honouring Soviet soldiers who died during the Soviet war in Afghanistan (1979-89). He said, “It’ll be a beautiful composition with sculptures and bas-reliefs depicting certain historical events”. Stone tablets with the names of about 10,000 Soviet soldiers who fell in hotspots all over the world will line the alley leading to the memorial. Klintsevich said that plans call for completing the monument by summer, noting, “We’ll start preliminary excavation in the near future, probably in March. We’ve already begun engraving the names on the memorial tablets”. According to official statistics, the USSR was in over 30 conflicts in some 29 countries; besides Afghanistan, Soviet troops fought in Angola (and here), Ethiopia, Yemen, and Nigeria. Some 15,000 Soviet troops died in Afghanistan alone, before the Soviet withdrawal in February 1989.
