All actions of the de facto Ukrainian authorities aim at suppressing democracy:

  • Seizing and confiscating foreign media material circulating in the Ukraine
  • Threats against journalists
  • Threats against political opponents
  • Abolishing the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages
  • Seizure and vandalism of opposing political factions’ headquarters
  • Threat to ban the all political organisations opposed to the Timoshenko junta
  • Physical violence and terrorism against  opponents
  • Voting in the Rada without printed bills, so that People’s Deputies don’t know what they’re voting for… the putschists enforce voting “on command”
  • Threats to regional autonomy
  • Glorification of Nazi ideology and Nazi leaders
  • Demonisation of federalism, attacking textbooks describing federalism as the regional dimension of democracy
  • Illegal armed posts on roads randomly checking documents and terrorising civilians
  • Threats against bloggers who express a POV not in sync with the junta’s positions

Why are people talking about a democratic revolution in the Ukraine? We must talk about an anti-democratic revolution in the Ukraine. Anyone who supports the Orange/Brown revolution in the Ukraine is the enemy of democracy. All those who supported the Bolotnaya Square protests and those who support Navalny’s ideology are, therefore, explicit opponents of democracy. That’s clear to everyone… those who claim to be in favour of democracy made a Red and Black Revolution.

Editor’s Note:

The Timoshenko junta is a bunch of kleptocrats… however, American libertarians cream their jeans over them. After all, the putschists believe in a non-regulated feral economy… just as the Libertarian greedsters do. Things get MURKIER by the hour… yet, it’s clear that the junta may have as little as two weeks left. This news has driven out all other topics for Russian people. It’s historic… it’s another 12421612170918121941. 1991 brought the beginning of the Second Time of Troubles… shall 2014 end it (the First Time of Troubles began in 1598 and only ended in 1618)? I’ve done what I’ve could… I’m only one small person…

Sevastopol to Keep Berkut Unit Embodied and Part of Police

00 Kiev. riots 01. 24.01.14

______________________________

Aleksei Chaly, the new Mayor of Sevastopol, promised residents that he wouldn’t disband the Berkut spetsnaz unit. The Sevastopol authorities intend to ignore yesterday’s decree of acting Ukrainian Minister of Internal Affairs Arseny Avakov abolishing the Berkut. Mayor Chaly promised that the Berkut would stay embodied and that its members would continue to receive their official pay.

Chaly invited the Berkut troopers to Sevastopol, saying, “They’re decent men”. He pointed up that they could form the nucleus for a self-defence force, and be part of the municipal police in future. Chaly noted, “These men proved themselves patriots; they more than adequately fulfilled their duty to their motherland. Now, their former chiefs want to throw them to rabid Nazis. In future, any envoys from Kiev won’t go to Sevastopol nor to any other place that agrees with the Executive Committee”.

Editor’s Note:

Where is Chaly getting the money for this? Why, from Russia… but not from the government! In the USA, the government serves at the pleasure of the corporate élite… the government is merely a cat’s paw for corporate interests (as we saw in Chile in 1973). This is the real reason for the American support of the Timoshenko putschists… American corporate leaders smell profit for themselves. In Russia, however, the corporate élite serves at the pleasure of the government (one reason the American corporate élite hates Russia and vilifies it in its media). What’s my reason for such a statement? Let me give you a name… Mikhail Khodorkovsky. Russian oligarchs know that if they cross VVP, they’ll bust rocks under the Arctic sun in an ITK in the Sakha Republic. Ergo, if he makes a “suggestion”… much as John Boehner is the Stepin Fetchit running dog of Big Pharma/Big Insurance… they all say, “Thank you, sir, may I please have another!”

Moscow isn’t going to get involved in the Ukraine. That’s true… but Russian money will flow in from corporate sources and Russian “civilian” volunteers will pass through the porous and mostly unguarded border. VVP has deniability… just as American corporate interests have deniability for their actions when they use the American government. That is, VVP uses the Americans’ own tactic against them! “We didn’t send any money to Mayor Chaly!” That’ll be true… but Roman Abramovich knows what to do… he has Khodorkovsky’s example before him, doesn’t he?

The Japanese have a word, haragei, which means, “belly talk”. “Belly talk” is when you make loud pious noises about something, but do the exact opposite… however, you give subtle hints that your public position is mere formality, and that your actions will be otherwise. Methinks that the world capital of “belly talk” right now is Moscow, especially, with Sergei Lavrov, the “Old Master”, leading the belly talkers (they do have such sincere looks on their faces, don’t they? The Americans hate the fact that Sergei Viktorovich is telling them, “Assume the position!”)… that’s why the USA is so pissed. You see, the Russians are saying all the “correct things”… the USA can’t fault them in public. Russia is going to follow its national interests… and there’s more than one way to do so… all roads DO lead to Rome, but not all roads go through Ostia, if you catch my drift. Keep your eyes open… VVP isn’t the master statesman of our time for nought…

Metropolitan Onufry Sceptical about Prospects of “Dialogue” with Schismatics “In This Time of Troubles”

00 Metropolitan Onufry. 26.02.14

______________________________

On Wednesday, according to Kommersant, at a meeting of Rada People’s Deputies and Acting Ukrainian President Aleksandr Turchinov with representatives of the all-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organisations, Metropolitan Onufry Berezovsky of Chernovtsy and Bukovina, locum tenens of the Kiev Metropolia, was unenthusiastic about the prospects of dialogue with schismatics, saying, “We could have a dialogue, but who knows what the result would be. Of course, one could make concessions in oikonomia, but we can’t compromise on the spiritual rules and canons, as there’s only one teaching, there isn’t any other! The Church must use love, not pressure. However, in this time of troubles (смутное время), I don’t see what good we can do. We can only do something positive about it when peace returns”. He also noted that if a religious war started in the Ukraine, with attacks on the Church intent on subduing it, “it’d be much worse than any economic war”. As reported recently, the Holy Synod of the UOC/MP established a dialogue commission to talk with two schismatic structures, the so-called “Kiev Patriarchate” and the “Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church”. The statement establishing the commission reiterated, “We reaffirm our readiness for a dialogue, but believe that we can only discuss this issue in a calm atmosphere, without any pressure from social and political forces. Political interference in the process of overcoming Church schism is wrong. Restoration of unity in Ukrainian Orthodoxy is a purely ecclesiastical matter”.

Editor’s Note:

No Russian deploys the word “smuta” lightly… it’s redolent of the events of 1612. By using such a construct, Vladyki Onufry bluntly told the Timoshenko junta that he considers them modern “False Dmitris”, and that they won’t last. Everyone smells a rotten stench around these poseurs. Even the politicised to-the-bone ICC refused to deal with their accusations. Their days are numbered, indeed…

Demonstrators Put Russian Flag on Crimean Supreme Soviet Building in Simferopol

russian-flag

______________________________

Participants in a protest organised by pro-Russian Cossack organisations in Crimea put a Russian flag on the Supreme Soviet of the Autonomous Republic of the Crimea (VS ARK) building in Simferopol. As the flag pole for the Ukrainian and Crimean flags is on the rooftop, the demonstrators attached the Russian flag to the letters on the building’s façade. Protesters demand that the government ignore what they see as illegal resolutions by the Ukrainian junta. A group of protesters blocked the central entrance to the VS ARK building, so, lawmakers and secretariat workers had to leave it through side exits.
