Donbass People’s Opolchenie Open Up Corridor to the North to Link Up with Comrades in Lugansk, Expected to Take Gorlovka

Look at the man in the foreground. His American-style cammies look new (note that his AK is in good order and that he’s got two clips taped together… a sure sign of an old salt). My guess is that he’s a government MVDU trooper who rallied to the patriot side. This means that the professional military/security forces are melting away, which means that they don’t think that the junta’s long for this world. That’s NOT good news for the junta… now, they’ll have to rely on American mercs and “National Guard” bravos for “muscle”. In short, they’re desperate, that’s why Biden is being stupid enough to go there next week. The American project is tanking in full view of the world… and everybody’s laughing their ass off at Washington.

Patriots from Donetsk told correspondent Oleg Izmailov on “Airtime without Restrictions” on News Radio that Opolchenie from the city were on the way to capture the police building in Gorlovka. Izmailov said, “Now, we’re near the building of the Donetsk Oblast MVDU. The crowd there is slowly dispersing; about 150 people remain there.  Reportedly, the rest went to take the Gorotdel (Town Administration) in Gorlovka”. He confirmed that the Main Directorate building of the Donetsk Oblast MVDU is in patriot hands, the flag of the Donetsk People’s Republic flies over it, and that the control point at the entrance has a plaque with the Russian double eagle. The patriots allow no Ukrainian journalists inside the building, only those from Russian TV channels. As previously reported, the Donbass People’s Opolchenie took control of  Slavyansk, Krasny Liman, Kostantinovka, Kramatorsk, Krasnoarmeisk, and Druzhkovka. All of them except Krasnoarmeisk are north of Donetsk going towards Lugansk Oblast. Apparently, the patriots in Donetsk want to create a corridor linking them to the patriot elements in Lugansk.

US Vice President Biden to visit the Ukraine on 22 April

AFP reported that US Vice President Joe Biden will travel to Ukraine on 22 April to stress American support for the Kiev junta and steps to improve its energy security amidst a crisis with Russia. A White House statement said that during his meetings with junta leaders and approved civil society groups, Biden will “underscore the United States’ strong support for a united, democratic Ukraine that makes its own choices about its future path”.

The incoherence of the White House announcement is mindboggling.  Firstly, the junta didn’t come to power via democratic means, it seized power in an American-financed and fomented coup (much like earlier instances in Guatemala, Iran, Chile, Panama, and South Vietnam). Therefore, by definition, it CAN’T “underscore the United States’ strong support for a united, democratic Ukraine”, as the junta is undemocratic to the bone and came to power in a violent street riot redolent of the Beer Hall Putsch (that is, if Hitler’s earlier putsch had succeeded). If Biden brays about “makes its own choices about its future path”, then, he has to accept the all-Crimea referendum as legit. To top it all, the USA has no natural gas to ship to the Ukraine, nor does it have any leverage over any of the suppliers.

Actually, I think that the junta’s in the deep doo-doo… normally, such trips don’t happen on such short notice! Never forget that Biden’s mentor in his youth was a Croatian RC priest who was a rabid Ustaša backer. That is, Biden’s been brainwashed into Russophobia and anti-Orthodox hatred from far back in his life (and programmed to whitewash fascism). He’s a bad seed, a rum go, and a nasty piece of work. He’s MORE Russophobic than Zbig is, and that’s saying a lot. There’s no member of the US government more ignorant or more repellent in his hatred of Russia and the Orthodox faith.

Yet, take heart… if the junta wasn’t sinking rapidly, Biden wouldn’t be trying to pull it out. Personally, I think that this is for political purposes… even in his ignorance, he sees the junta’s defeat, and he wants to insulate himself from future Republican attacks. The USA will NOT commit military forces. Even Kerry’s bright enough to know that’s something that WOULD trigger a nuclear response. The rollercoaster ride continues…

Orthodox Archbishop Atallah Hanna Condemned Israeli Restrictions on Easter Pilgrims

On Thursday, Orthodox Archbishop Atallah Hanna condemned Israeli authorities for imposing obstacles on Christians wishing to enter the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem to celebrate the upcoming Christian holiday of Easter, saying in a statement, “It’s the right of every Christian to reach the Church of the Holy Sepulchre without facing any obstacles, or impediments. The Israeli security pretexts are unacceptable in every way”. He called on Orthodox and Christian institutions to help Christians gain entry to the holy sites, “We call on our sons, churches, and followers to head to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and hold on to this religious and national right and refuse the status quo imposed by the occupation authorities”.

Hanna’s statements come days after Palestinian Christian groups in Jerusalem denounced Israeli restrictions on their right to worship in the city, calling for an end to discrimination against both Christians and Muslims in the holy city. A statement by the “Palestinian Christian Organisations in Occupied East Jerusalem” read, “The restrictive measures constitute grave violation on the freedom of worship, and amount to discrimination against Christians because the occupation authorities want to negate the Christian presence and create the impression of a Jewish-only city. Both Christians and Muslims are often unable to worship freely and to be with their families and friends during religious holidays because of Israel’s actions”.

Jerusalem was the scene of violence last Easter, as Israeli forces erected checkpoints around the Holy City and assaulted pilgrims as they crowded in the area. A statement signed by the heads of all recognised churches in the Holy Land later denounced the “awful scenes of the brutal treatment to clerics, average people, and pilgrims in Jerusalem during Holy Saturday”, lamenting that clergymen and average people “get beaten brutally and indiscriminately and be denied access to their churches under the pretext of keeping order”. Later, Israel officially apologised to Egypt after Israeli police officers attacked Egyptian diplomats and a Coptic clergyman at a church in Jerusalem during Orthodox Easter.

In a report published in 2012, the US State Department made similar observations, “Strict closures and curfews imposed by the Israeli government negatively affected residents’ ability to practise their religion at holy sites, including the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, as well as the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem. The separation barrier much impeded Bethlehem-area Christians from reaching the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem and made visits to Christian sites in Bethany (al-Eizariya) and Bethlehem difficult for Palestinian Christians who live on the Jerusalem side of the barrier”.

Israeli forces occupied East Jerusalem, including the historic Old City, in 1967. It later annexed it in a move not recognised by the international community. There are around 200,000 Palestinian Christians in the West Bank, Gaza Strip, and inside Israel in total, whilst hundreds of thousands more live abroad.

Note well that the USA doesn’t push Israel to mend its ways. The Israel Lobby exists, and it has much clout. It’s one reason American Middle Eastern policy is so fucked up. The “Men in Black” remind you… Easter IS on the way, it’s only a week off, kids. They also remind you that long faces are from the devil, not from God! God made all sorts of good things for us, and He doesn’t appreciate it when we scorn his Creation in the name of oddbod “religion”. Easter is the centrepiece of our faith… If Christ be not risen from the dead, then your faith is in vain. The Apostle said that… there it is, in a nutshell. Keep it focused, tomorrow is Palm Sunday, which means that the Great Lent’s almost over. The Last Homely Home is our REAL abode… never forget that! Get ready for a dyn-no-mite Easter (Catholic and Orthodox Easter are on the same date this year)! Have the ham, kulich, and paskha ready… God expects you to CELEBRATE!

We’re Christians… that’s what we do. Lent’s only for a time, but Easter IS eternal!
