Increase in Refugee Flow from the Ukraine to Russia… Patriot Cossacks Uncover Right Sector Terrorist Arms Cache in Odessa… Free Slavyansk Still Stands

People carrying the banner of the Donetsk People’s Republic

At the opening of a migration centre in the Moscow area, Federal Migration Service (FMS) chief Konstantin Romodanovsky said, “In the past two months, we’ve recorded an increase in the number of Ukrainian citizens seeking permanent residence in Russia. They’re refugees and displaced persons, they request temporary residence permits, and legalisation increased in re labour migration. People are certainly worried. Two months ago, I said that I saw symptoms of a humanitarian catastrophe. I believe I’m not the only one now who sees it; we’ve shared it with the office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees. Hopefully, the situation won’t worsen”.

******

On Wednesday, presidential spokesman Dmitri Peskov told Vesti 24 TV that European readers and TV viewers couldn’t get the full picture on the Ukrainian situation because they lack freedom of information, saying, “It’s very regrettable but it’s so. Even statements from Russian politicians such as President Vladimir Putin, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, and lawmakers who try to dispel rumours or dismiss accusations faces censorship. Explanations don’t get through… not because they’re inadequate, but on the contrary, because they’re very consistent and well substantiated. They don’t get through because they come across a concrete wall of censorship. We never saw anything like this before. We never thought this could happen and that it could happen so openly”.

On Wednesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MID) sharply criticised the USA’s appraisal of events in the southeastern Ukraine, saying, “The US Department of State feverishly collects all speculations distributed by the current Kiev authorities to substantiate accusations against Russia of instigating, and all but organising, disorders in the southeastern Ukraine. Two hurriedly compiled press releases dated 13 April were full of doubtful ‘facts’ of the involvement of Russian spetsnaz in seizing administrative buildings and coordinating protest rallies. One may judge the quality of this ‘agitprop’ by noting that the US State Department sees as ‘proof’ [of Russian involvement] the fact that some camouflage-clad protestors carry Kalashnikov rifles. It appears that the American foreign policy department doesn’t know that the rifles are standard issue in Ukrainian Army and internal security units”.

“The thesis being spread by Washington of the interim Ukrainian government’s adherence to ‘protection of the rights of all nationals of the country’ doesn’t hold water either. One can certainly say that black is white, but it’s impossible to refute what’s evident… the Russophobic anti-Semite Svoboda bloc under Oleg Tyagnibok received several ministerial portfolios as a result of the coup, along with the post of General Procurator. The key thing isn’t that they juggle the facts, but their persistent unwillingness or inability to see reality as it is, and their desire to impose on the rest of the world a corrupt perception of what’s going on in the southeastern Ukraine. To justify the riots of ‘Maidan heroes’ from briefing to briefing, calling them a ‘people’s revolution’, but to call protest rallies in Donetsk, Kharkov, Lugansk, Slavyansk, and other cities ‘raids by terrorists controlled from the outside’ isn’t only double standards but blatant hypocrisy. Now that the governing régime in Kiev decided on the use of force, public speculations by White House and Department of State spokesmen that the talk is only about ensuring law and order means nothing else than their approval of the war declared by Kiev on its own people. Washington should be aware of the catastrophic consequences of such reckless support for their Kiev protégés”.

Molotov cocktails… the preferred “ballot” of the Right Sector and Svoboda… “Made in the USA!”

______________________________

On Wednesday, Oleg Tsaryov, Rada People’s Deputy and Ukrainian presidential candidate, condemned the Ukrainian security forces’ operations in the eastern Ukraine, saying at a news conference in Donetsk, “If we want to preserve the Ukraine’s unity, we should learn to listen to each other and remember that there’s only one way out of the crisis… peaceful talks”. He also commented on the attack on him by a group of radical militants, “Strangely enough, obviously, some amongst the current authorities are interested in conflict escalation and even in disrupting the election. It’s also obvious that the régime doesn’t control the situation in the country. It’s clear that [the régime] can’t even protect presidential candidates from extremist attacks. I get the impression that they want to deny people in the southeast Ukraine the right to vote for their candidate”. Referring to the opening of a criminal case against him by the Genprokuratura, Tsaryov noted that his statements contained nothing that would be contrary to the law.

Editor:

This is absurd… charging a presidential candidate with a crime to get him off the ballot. It looks as though the junta WANTS to push the East Bank into Russian hands. This would be like Scalia and Thomas outlawing the Democratic Party… they want to, but can’t (after all, both approved CIA torture programmes).

On Wednesday, acting Slavyansk mayor Vyacheslav Ponomaryov told ITAR-TASS that a column of armoured vehicles entered the town of Slavyansk, and that the troops might side with the Donetsk People’s Republic Opolchenie. Facing Slavyansk’s Gorsoviet building were four APCs, a self-propelled gun, and a communications vehicle from the junta force sent to Donetsk Oblast. Ponomaryov said, “We’ve let them through. The only condition is that they unclip their magazines, although they can keep their ammunition. Our activists are bringing dinner shortly… we’ll offer them a meal, then, we’ll let them decide if they want to remain on our side or leave. The troops have a choice… join the Donbass Opolchenie or leave their weapons and military equipment and withdraw”. Earlier, elements of 25 Airborne Brigade sided with the patriots. However, armoured vehicles belonging to junta military units still deploy near Slavyansk.

Editor:

There was no news after this… I think that the soldiers got a good bowl of borshch, exchanged shots (of vodka) with the locals, and decided, “Let’s give peace a chance”. Note well that the ordinary Ukie armed forces simply melt away… don’t be smug, sooner or later, the Right Sector/Svoboda filth and other Uniate fanatics will push their way forward. Then, blood WILL flow.

A new element appeared in the standoff between patriot elements in the eastern Ukraine and forces loyal to the putschist junta. On Wednesday, the Donetsk Railway Department said that unknown people blocked a crucial railway between Kramatorsk and Druzhkovka, noting, “In the wake of an unauthorised blockade of the railway between the stations of Kramatorsk and Druzhkovka by an unidentified group, we made changes in the routes of long-distance and commuter trains, diverting them to a different line until we clear the unauthorised blockade”. A total of 26 long-distance passenger trains and 28 commuter trains use the line between Kramatorsk and Druzhkovka daily. The line provides a railway link between the heavily industrialised and densely populated southeast Donetsk Oblast and Kharkov. It also links the area to Lozovaya, one of the biggest railway junctions in the southeast Ukraine.

On Wednesday, local media said that activists from the Kharkov-based public association Oplot (Pillar) seized the Donetsk Gorsoviet building. Reports said that about twenty people wearing ‘Oplot’ armbands, armed with rifles, avtomats, and bats, occupied all the floors of the building. However, the mayor and city workers remained in their offices. Aleksandr Zakharchenko, the chairman of Oplot’s local branch, told reporters that their objective was to press the Kiev junta into holding a referendum on the status of Donetsk Oblast. He said that his activists were going to make public demands public at Wednesday’s session of the Gorsoviet. Soon after entering the building, the activists held talks with the cops guarding the building in a bid to convince them to leave.

Oplot began in 2010, to give financial, legal, social, and moral support for the families of policemen killed or wounded on duty, or who couldn’t take proper care of themselves because of age or circumstances. The organisation’s founder, a former MVDU officer, said that another facet of Oplot activity was to thwart efforts to glorify UPA/OUN pro-Nazi collaborators, the raising of funds to rebury Soviet soldiers buried in wartime mass graves, and to maintain monuments to World War II heroes.

00 Slavyansk. 01. 16.04.14

THIS is what they’re fighting for in Slavyansk… a future for their kids free of the oligarchs, free of pro-American bumkissers, and free from Uniate Vatican slavery.

_____________________________

On Wednesday afternoon, the Donetsk Railway Department said that it fully restored train traffic on a crucial railway between the stations of Kramatorsk and Druzhkovka in Donetsk Oblast. As reported earlier, unknown people blocked the railway between Kramatorsk and the town of Druzhkovka on Wednesday morning.

******

On Wednesday, acting Mayor Vyacheslav Ponomaryov (commander of a Opolchenie group) told ITAR-TASS that Opolchenie fighters stopped a group of armed people in unmarked uniforms on the northern outskirts of Slavyansk, saying, “The intel we received said that a group of about fifteen unknown people wearing unmarked greyish uniforms tried to get into the city about an hour ago. They arrived at the northern boundary of Slavyansk on three white jeeps, but the Opolchenie stopped them. An exchange of fire ensued that lasted about thirty minutes, but we don’t know if anyone was killed or wounded”. He thinks that it was a reconnaissance team probing the city’s defences. Ponomaryov thinks the team was from the Jaguar Spetsnaz Regiment of the MVDU Western Territorial Command. He believes a similar recon team of about ten troops attempted to enter Slavyansk from the opposite end. It also resulted in a firefight, but with casualties. The attackers retreated upon realising it was impossible to penetrate the city. Ponomaryov described the situation in Slavyansk as generally normal, “We continue to fortify our positions and the people are in an upbeat mood. More defenders are arriving from Donetsk and other places”.

On Wednesday, local media reported that patriots hoisted the Donetsk People’s Republic flag above the Raisoviet buildings in Novoazovsk and Krasnoarmeisk. In Novoazovsk, several dozen patriots gathered near the Raisoviet building, demanding that it support the plebiscite. During the rally, patriots ripped down the Ukrainian flag and replaced it with the Donetsk People’s Republic banner. In Krasnoarmeisk, patriots didn’t pull down the Ukrainian or Donetsk Oblast flags, but they hoisted the Donetsk People’s Republic flag next to them. Later, patriots marched to the local police building and hung out the Donetsk People’s Republic flag from one of the windows.

On Wednesday, local media reported that local patriot Cossacks uncovered a Right Sector terrorist arms cache in Odessa. The cache contained ammunition, edged weapons, clubs, Molotov cocktails, firecrackers, and other military gear. The Cossacks called in the cops; the Odessa Main Directorate of the MVDU confirmed the report on the search, but provided no details. Earlier, junta supporters declared a “full combat alert” in connection with an “attack on the city” allegedly under preparation. Antitank obstacles to hamper armoured vehicle movement on beaches near Odessa and trenches dug by border guards around checkpoints on the coast heightened the siege atmosphere. The Odessa Main Directorate of the MVDU announced that volunteers could join MVDU “Storm” units formed from junta supporters. These “volunteers”, along with MVDU units, built checkpoints on roads around the city since Tuesday.

On Wednesday, Larisa Mudrak, the deputy head of Ukraine’s National Council for Television and Radio Broadcasts, said that providers and cable TV operators in the eastern Ukraine are restoring broadcasts of Russian TV channels, flouting a temporary court ban. More than 90 percent of providers in Lugansk Oblast and 40 percent of providers in Donetsk Oblast resumed broadcasting Channel One, RTR-Planeta, Rossiya-24, and NTV-Mir. She said, “We’re registering all these offences. We regard these incidences as offences because they violate a court ruling. Providers and TV operators could face criminal charges for their actions. We are handing over all the facts to law enforcers, the Genprokuratura, and the MVDU. However, I’d like to say that each particular situation needs a concrete investigation”.

Editor:

The junta has no means of enforcing its diktats. There’s no need of going on, is there? The junta’s nothing more than a figleaf over Western interests who wish to rape the Ukraine for their own interests and gain. The sooner that it falls, the better.

On Wednesday, so-called junta Vice-Premier Vitaly Yarema told journalists that some cops in Donetsk sided with patriot elements, saying, “The situation in Donetsk is complicated. We’re in touch with the city mayor and the administration chief. Some policemen are defending Ukrainian independence (sic). However, some policemen put on St George ribbons”.

Editor:

“Independence” for junta supporters means sucking up to the USA, Wall Street, and the Vatican… the Uniates are the worst offenders, but they aren’t the only ones. “Independence” means kissing the Pope’s ass, lying down so that Western and local business interests can fuck you, and crawling to the Americans for a pittance (whilst the ordinary people get pay cuts and price increases). This is EVIL…

On Wednesday, local media reported that an unidentified group broke into an MVDU base in Mariupol in the southern Ukraine. The incident happened at about 20.00 local time (10.00 PDT. 13.00 EDT. 18.00 BST. 21.00 MSK. 07.00 17 April AEST). At first, several dozen people pelted the premises with Molotov cocktails, then, they broke the gates to get inside. Now, the police are negotiating with them.

******

Acting Mayor Vyacheslav Ponomaryov told ITAR-TASS that the situation is now calm in Slavyansk, adding that there’d been no new attempts from junta military units to break into the city. Earlier, soldiers from the 25 Airborne Brigade sided with the patriot Opolchenie. Ponomaryov said, “The soldiers saw our attitude to them. There was no hostility on our part. Some of them already left to go home. Some stayed; we gave them a meal. Our Opolchenie remains in combat readiness. Our people are ready; we’re going to uphold our interests. A referendum [on the status of the oblast] will only take place after the war ends. Believe me, it’s just started”.

The official Mariupol municipal website  reported that there are no sounds of gunfire coming from a military base near the city, where an unidentified group broke in late on Wednesday. It quoted eyewitnesses as saying that several minibuses drove to the MVDU base at 20.00 local time (10.00 PDT. 13.00 EDT. 18.00 BST. 21.00 MSK. 07.00 17 April AEST). They said that people wearing grey uniforms got out and pelted the premises with Molotov cocktails. Those inside fired in response. According to the website, one person died, another 12 were wounded and taken to hospital. At about 01.00 local time (15.00 PDT. 18.00 EDT. 23.00 BST. 02.00 MSK. 12.00 AEST) on Thursday, the website reported military vehicles moving towards Mariupol from Starodubovka. After that, it said that sounds of firing at the base stopped.

16 April 2014. A Point to Ponder this Holy Week…

00 Jesus was a radical.16

______________________________

Jesus wouldn’t have been welcome at Liberty University… Jesus wouldn’t have been welcome at the Washington Times or the Washington Examiner… Jesus wouldn’t have been welcome at the American Enterprise Institute. The New York Times, CNN, and Fox would’ve shunned him… Pat Robertson, Timothy Dolan, Paffhausen, and Franklin Graham would’ve denounced him… Serge Schmemann, Sophia Kishkovsky, and Rod Dreher would’ve ignored him. The Council on Foreign Relations would’ve laughed at him. The WCC would’ve “tolerated” him. The country club set would’ve told rude jokes about him. Certainly, he wouldn’t be on the guest list for Mary Lou Whitney’s next party and Langley would tail him “for national security reasons”.

Reflect on this when you hear unhinged righties try to tell you that Our Lord Christ would’ve approved of the anti-people ravening agenda of the Republican Party. They lie… Our Lord Himself said so when He was on earth. They didn’t tack him up to a cross for nothing…

Putin Slams Junta… Junta Pulls Raid in Gorlovka… Opolchenie Capture APCs from Junta Forces

00 Donetsk Peoples Republic. 16.04.14

______________________________

On Wednesday, the Kremlin press service reported that President Vladimir Putin stated in a telephone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu that the sharp aggravation of the Ukrainian crisis was the outcome of the irresponsible policy pursued by Kiev, which ignores the legitimate rights and interests of the country’s Russian-speaking population, saying, “The use of armed forces by the present régime to suppress protest actions by civilians in the southeast Ukraine is inadmissible”. Putin gave his analysis of the current Ukrainian situation at Netanyahu’s request. During the conversation, held on the initiative of the Israeli side, Putin and Netanyahu discussed matters of current importance on bilateral coöperation and the international agenda, including the course of talks on Iran’s nuclear programme. Putin and Netanyahu agreed to hold regular exchanges of views on matters of mutual interest.

The Gorlovka Gorsoviet reported that unidentified pro-junta attackers struck the town, saying that the incident happened “on 15 April after 21.00 local time (11.00 PDT. 14.00 EDT. 19.00 BST. 22.00 MSK. 08.00 16 April AEST). Five masked men forced their way into the social maintenance office building. Eyewitnesses said that the men had guns. They broke down the doors and smashed all the phone sets. Supposedly, the attackers were looking for weapons. The person on duty in the building wasn’t hurt, but she’s stressed”. Cops came to the scene. On 14 April, patriot elements took over the Gorsoviet building, appointed Aleksandr Sapunov as People’s Mayor, and hoisted the flag of the Donetsk People’s Republic.

******

On Wednesday, patriots continue to control government offices in eight cities of Donetsk Oblast. The flag of the Donetsk People’s Republic waved over the Zhdanovka Gorsoviet building. Patriots stated that local authorities “are on their side.” The Makeyevka Gorsoviet, the Mariupol mayor’s office, the Kramatorsk Gorsoviet, an office in Khartsyzsk, a police building in Gorlovka, and the Gorsoviet and police building in Yenakiyevo remain in patriot hands. Police and SBU buildings remain occupied by patriots in Slavyansk. The Donetsk People’s Republic Opolchenie placed seven checkpoints in the city.

******

On Wednesday, patriot Opolchenie seized six Ukrainian Army armoured vehicles that entered Kramatorsk in Donetsk Oblast as part of a task force to conduct an “anti-terrorist operation” (sic). The Opolchenie surrounded the vehicles and blocked their movement. Then, they disarmed the troops and drove the APCs towards Ivanovka.

You Can’t Make Up Shit Like This: The Ukraine to Issue Two-Year War Bonds… Tell Me, Who’d be STOOPID Enough to Buy ‘Em?

01 Art of Money Getting

______________________________

The Ukrainian Ministry of Finance will issue two-year war bonds worth 1.1 billion gryvnia (3.344 billion Roubles. 92.8 million USD. 102.3 million CAD. 99 million AUD. 67.1 million Euros. 55 million UK Pounds), according to Decision of the Cabinet of Ministers Nr 100-101 dated 1 April, but released only this week. It said, “This proposal is a call to the community to join forces, desires, and intentions to take part in solving national problems and to give financial assistance to the Ukraine’s armed forces, enhancing their combat readiness and strengthening the state’s defence”. The securities are book-entry war bonds with a 7 percent coupon for 1 billion gryvnia (3.04 billion Roubles. 84 million USD. 93 million CAD. 90 million AUD. 61 million Euros. 50 million UK Pounds), and certificated treasury bonds with a face value of 100 million gryvnia (304 million Roubles. 8.4 million USD. 9.3 million CAD. 9 million AUD. 6.1 million Euros. 5 million UK Pounds). The government will pay the yield on each security with a face value of 1,000 gryvnia (3,040 Roubles. 84 USD. 93 CAD. 90 AUD. 61 Euros. 50 UK Pounds) every 6 months. The Ukraine has been in serious financial trouble since February, with extremely high arrears for Russian gas and a military that needs funding, Kiev struggles to make ends meet. Kiev can’t raise funds independently as it is in a stand-by agreement with the IMF to receive rescue money. The only alternative left for the junta is to appeal to patriotism and issue so-called war bonds, with yields exempt from tax, should the government not default before the first payment is due.

Editor:

Now, I’ve seen it all! Come and get it! Big-time Ukrainian bond sale! Who’s going to be STOOPID enough to buy these? Watch ’em get foisted on two groups:

  • Uniate and “Ukrainian Orthodox” parishes in the diaspora will force members to buy this useless paper
  • the Ukrainian government will force civil service employees, soldiers, pensioners, and wage-earners to buy them through wage/pension holdbacks

The junta’s grasping at straws. This is fuckin’ pitiful… the people suffer under a double-the-trouble combination of pay cuts and price increases, and, now, this. McCain, Nuland, and Zbig cackle with glee…

I believe that the junta’s glomming up “getaway cash”… this isn’t enough to fight a modern war with for even a month. Note this… the oligarchs aren’t buying into this shit. Darlin’ Yuliya the Landshark ain’t buying… neither is Yatsenyuk, Turchinov, Avakov, or Klichko. Shitbirds of a feather DO flock together…
