A Hero of our time for Holy Rus… Vyacheslav Ponomaryov, the People’s Mayor of Slavyansk, at liturgy on Sunday. All Orthodox Christians must defend and support their co-religionists in Novorossiya. We have a parallel obligation to oppose the evil wrought by the Uniates… full stop.

On Saturday, hromadske.tv reported major clashes between junta forces and opolchenie. People heard powerful explosions near the “Zeus Ceramica” works in the centre of the Slavyansk, fighting goes on there, wounding at least one of the opolchenie. According to reports, jets are flying over the battle. Locals wrote in social networks that they heard very powerful explosions, making the glass rattle. According to local residents, opolchenie fighter Aleksandr Mozhaev, nicknamed Babai, suffered serious wounds, and is now in hospital.

Late on Friday, a spokesman for the Donetsk People’s Republic (DNR) told ITAR-TASS over the phone that DNR opolchenie took control of the headquarters of a unit of the junta “National Guards” (sic), saying, “They took the building of Army Unit 3037 in Donetsk”. Earlier on Friday, VV MVDU Dmitri Obraztsov told UNIAN, “The personnel left the headquarters to be billeted in another garrison. I don’t know if they left any weapons there”.
Editor:
The spin on this is pathetic. The Uniates had their asses kicked out… full stop. Trust me, they left everything behind… they knew that the people were on their way, and like the trashing of Taruta’s offices, they wanted blood. The Uniate pigs are evil… they’re not completely stupid.

On Saturday, Interfax reported that the Ukrainian State Border Service claimed that armed men managed to free Valery Bolotov, the People’s Governor of Lugansk People’s Republic (LNR), in a fierce fight with Ukrainian border guards near the Dovzhansky border checkpoint, saying, “Ukrainian border guards arrested [Bolotov] at 05.45 (20.45 PDT. 23.45 16 May EDT. 04.45 BST. 06.45 MSK. 13.45 AEST), informed all law enforcement agencies about this, including those conducting antiterrorist (sic) operations, and waited for assistance from security forces for about 2 hours, but nobody arrived. Over 100 armed men managed to free Bolotov from detention in a fierce battle”.
Editor:
No doubt, Bolotov was on his way to meet Putin, and he could’ve just slipped across the border (it’s too long to constantly patrol or garrison). He CHOSE to cross at a legal border crossing… hmm… that’s INTERESTING. That is, he WANTED an incident. One can’t say who rescued him, but if you guessed the OMON or the VDV spetsnaz, you wouldn’t be far wrong, I’d say.

RIA-Novosti reported that Vyacheslav Ponomaryov, People’s Mayor of Slavyansk, said, “The total losses of the punitive fascist Kiev junta during 2 -12 May 2014, amount to 650 killed and wounded, among whom are 285 Right Sector extremists in the National Guard (sic), 120 Ukrainian mercenaries, 90 SBU personnel, and 70 foreign mercenaries. From May 2 to 12, losses amongst opolchenie amounted to 8 people, with three civilians wounded”.

Interfax reported that DNR Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Purgin said, “The DNR leadership started negotiations with Ukrainian border guards controlling the local section of the Ukrainian-Russian border to persuade them to side with them. The opening of a state border with Russia is amongst the key issues for us; we’re working on this now and are negotiating with the border guards. The problem is that some of them are from the western Ukraine, so, it’s difficult to reach agreement with them. The DNR plans to secure the border in the near future. It’s no secret; it’s very difficult for Russian citizens to enter because of border problems. We’ll try to resolve these issues in the near future and fully take the state border in the Donbass fully under our control”.

Interfax reported that Valery Golenko, the Chairman of the Lugansk Oblsoviet {a pro-junta figure: editor}, said at a roundtable discussion in Kharkov, “Today, decentralisation of the government isn’t enough to settle the crisis here and calm people down. In my view, it’s necessary to announce resolutely and clearly that the Ukraine should become a federal state or at least that Lugansk and Donetsk Oblasts should have this status. The Russian language is also an issue. In my view, this is what still can save the Ukraine from disintegration. Don’t underestimate the results of the referendums held recently in Lugansk and Donetsk Oblasts. It’s true that masses of people came to this referendum and that the people truly voted the way they announced it. This was a protest, not even for the formula proposed in the ballots. The people protested because they don’t want to live in what the Ukraine’s become now, where the government doesn’t respect the people in the southeast, particularly Donetsk and Lugansk Oblasts, and disregards their opinion. The Ukraine is losing time from day-to-day and may reach a point of no return. There’s still a chance to preserve the country. It’s necessary to stop the military operation against our own people and stop the military actions”.
Editor:
This is a sober PRO-junta voice… in short, if the junta doesn’t withdraw all troops immediately from Novorossiya and hand over Galician Uniate war criminals to the people for summary justice, there’ll not only be no peace, they’ll be no “Ukraine”. Is that what Langley wanted all along, I wonder? Yes, there is an upside for the American global hegemonists… there’d be only a rump “Ukraine”, but it’d be firmly in the American orbit, and it’d scare Poland, Latvia, and Estonia into allowing permanent American bases. On the downside, it’d cause discontent in Slovakia for sure and possibly in Czechia, too. This smells like Kosovo redux… the partitioning of a neutral state to allow basing of American aggressors to threaten a region. The similarities are chilling… remember the Langley/BND fomented Yugoslav Civil War? Its opening moves were similar to those that we see in the Ukraine today. That’s why Russia won’t stand idly by in the end (Russia was economically knackered and dispirited in 1999… such isn’t true today).

Interfax reported that Aleksandr Borodai, Chairman of the DNR Government, said that the DNR plans to ask Moscow to rejoin the Russian Federation as a constituent federal subject. When reporters asked him whether the DNR was planning to rejoin the RF, Borodai said, “Of course, we are. The imperatives of civil war mean that we can’t waste a minute. We’ll do this quite speedily. Our entire engineering sector, our entire industry, is part of the Russian economy. If there are close economic ties with Russia, the DNR economy will develop. Moreover, we expect assistance from Russia. Moscow would be able to set up military bases in the DNR if it became part of the RF. To start with, we might use various forms of deployment of Russian troops, for example, military bases… such exist in various countries”.

On Saturday, Interfax reported that Vladimir Gromov, head of counterintelligence of the United Army of the South-East, said in an address to junta forces, “We, the Army of the South-East, address everyone who brought war to our land… soldiers of the regular Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard (sic), and members of the Right Sector. We call on you to leave the territory of the LNR as quickly as possible. After the referendum, the people of the LNR wish to build their new independent state by themselves, no one has the right to prevent them from doing this. We’re sure that you, like us, don’t want to continue the war. It’s necessary to stop the bloodshed. We understand pretty well that you have to carry out orders. However, think about who your leaders are and what these people’s goals are. Should you die in order for someone to occupy a desired seat?”
“The junta hides behind the ideals of a single indivisible Ukraine. Yet, isn’t it them that destroyed this country, drowned Slavyansk and Mariupol in blood, burned the country in the terrible Odessa fire, and now, knowing all this, don’t want to give up? Further bloodshed is simply meaningless. We ask all Ukrainian soldiers, with whom and for what are you fighting? Do you want to protect homegrown fascism, the money of a small group of officials? Is it worth sacrificing people’s lives for it? We ask all Ukrainian commanders {“commander” in Russian means any commissioned officer: editor} to remember about their wives and children. Remember them and think about the guys you send into the firing line. We appeal to the mothers of servicemen from other parts of the Ukraine, whose children armed with guns are here in the LNR… before it’s not too late, take your children away, save them from this meaningless ‘meatgrinder’, stop them, we don’t want to see your motherly tears”.

On Saturday, Interfax reported that the so-called “National Guard” (sic) said that a group of its soldiers had rallied to the DNR patriot side on Friday, and that this was one of the reasons to redeploy its local unit. The National Guard (sic) said {Warning! Bullshit ahead!: editor}, “As a result of the treachery (sic) of a group of contract soldiers who’d taken a loyalty oath to the DNR, and to prevent bloodshed amongst conscript soldiers, the command of the Eastern Territorial Operational Unit of the National Guard (sic) decided to redeploy the personnel with their weapons to Military Compound Nr 2 of Military Unit 3037. Currently, competent authorities are investigating the incident. The Prokuratura is investigating the soldiers’ treachery (sic)”.
Editor:
What this means is that long-service personnel transferred to the National Guard (!!) decided to rally to the patriot side. I think that contract personnel (“career soldiers” in Anglosphere usage) received summary secondment to the National Guard (sic) without their permission; such units needed some people with military experience. In this case, the pros decided to take French leave. Obviously, they turned their avtomats on the fanatics… and the fanatics ran like rabbits, leaving everything behind. This has the junta scared shitless, as I believe that the contract personnel involved were Galicians… doesn’t that tell you something? You don’t need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows…

On Saturday, at a briefing in Krivoy Rog Ukrainian presidential candidate Pyotr Poroshenko said, “I oppose a referendum on Ukrainian membership in NATO. Such a referendum at this stage won’t provide unity, and that means it’s impractical to carry it out. A referendum on NATO would split the country. If the majority of citizens voted against joining NATO at a referendum, it’d close this issue for years to come. However, I do think that we should hold a referendum on Ukrainian accession to the EU”.
Editor:
Poroshenko is the American’s darling. However, even he’s getting cold feet about NATO. Methinks that I see unravelling.

On Saturday, Interfax reported that Vasili Nikitin, the chief spokesman of the United Army of the Southeast told a news conference, “Representatives from all public organisations in the LNR will hold a congress shortly and adopt a constitution for the republic. In all cities of the LNR, public movements have become more active, preparing documents to form the LNR. We must base a state upon the law. Work is underway on documents forming and structuring a government, including a constitution and declaration. Very shortly, there’ll be a large-scale assembly of the people of the LNR to choose an interim parliament”.

On Saturday, Donetsk News Agency “OstroV” said that Alexander Borodai, the Chairman of the DNR government, stated at a press conference in Donetsk, “We won’t conduct any negotiations with the Kiev authorities, because the Republic is in an actual state of war with them. As long as they occupy our territory, we won’t dialogue with Kiev. Dialogue would only be possible after the last soldier left the DNR’s territory. Mostly, this concerns not Ukrainian forces, but irregulars controlled by oligarchs from Dnepropetrovsk”.
Editor:
This is a direct jab at the oligarch Kolomoisky, one of the main supporters of the junta and of the American designs on the Ukraine. Trust me, this isn’t just a ratcheting up of rhetoric… it’s turning up the heat of the real conflict.

Fighting Continues but Slavyansk and Kramatorsk Hold Out… CIA Denies Role in Ukrainian Civil War (Of Course)

Miroslav Rudenko, Co-Chairman of the Donetsk People’s Republic Government and deputy commander of the Donbass People’s Opolchenie told RIA-Novosti, “Full-scale hostilities continue near Slavyansk and Kramatorsk. Clashes near Slavyansk and Kramatorsk resumed in the early hours of Saturday. Things got particularly tough in the morning. There are full-scale hostilities around Slavyansk and Kramatorsk. There’s no information about casualties”. Stella Khorosheva, the official spokesman for People’s Mayor of Slavyansk Vyacheslav Ponomaryov, confirmed to a RIA-Novosti correspondent, “Fighting persisted throughout Saturday, but now it’s relatively calm”.
******
The US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) denied reports of a number of CIA agents allegedly killed in clashes between junta forces and patriot opolchenie in Novorossiya. Earlier, People’s Mayor of Slavyansk Vyacheslav Ponomaryov announced that junta forces suffered heavy losses in their attempted repression in Novorossiya saying that the opolchenie killed, wounded, or captured at least 650 junta personnel in the past ten days, he said. There were 70 foreigners amongst them, 13 US FBI agents and CIA operatives died and 12 others wounded. A CIA official claimed on the US embassy in Berlin’s official Twitter page that no such incidents took place and that allegations by pro-Russian activists didn’t correspond to reality.
Editor:
Of course not… just like the CIA had nothing to do with Mossadegh, Arbenz, or Allende… or the Civil War in Greece or in deposing Ecumenical Patriarch Maximos Vaportzis. I think that all reasonable normal adults know the value of Langley’s word… and of those who work for it (what does that tell us about a particular priest who lives in suburban Maryland?). There’s no need to belabour the point… they’re liars, in an agency with a crank and duplicitous institutional culture. Why do they even issue such denials… don’t they know that no one believes them? Here’s the sad part… many of them have lived in a world of lies for so long that they no longer know what the truth is. Now, that’s being “disabled”, if you ask me…

Vyacheslav Ponomaryov, the People’s Mayor of Slavyansk, told Interfax, “The city came under fire yesterday afternoon and continued throughout the night. Our opolchenie fought back and eliminated up to seven attackers. Nobody died amongst the opolchenie, but one man has severe wounds. The junta forces continue to use heavy weapons such as howitzers and mortars against the city. They’re trying to advance inside the city. We’re not letting them do that, but we keep them in the outskirts”.
******
On Sunday, Stella Khorosheva, the official spokesman for Slavyansk People’s Mayor Vyacheslav Ponomaryov, told RIA-Novosti by telephone that “National Guard” (sic) terrorists shot dead ten soldiers who wanted to defect to the opolchenie in Slavyansk. She said, “Ten soldiers wanted to join us, but National Guard (sic) commanders shot them dead. We don’t have any information on casualties amongst the opolchenie. For now, there are no clashes inside the city, but we spotted an unmanned aircraft over the railway station”.
******
A spokesman for the patriot opolchenie told reporters, “There are signs of growing irritation in the Ukrainian Armed Forces as many servicemen are increasingly displeased with Kiev’s policies. On Saturday, a group of opolchenie fighters held talks with servicemen deployed at an airfield near Kramatorsk. They said that they don’t want war; they don’t want to shoot or kill anyone. Many come from our region, but they refuse to surrender… they have orders to obey. Worsening food supplies fuels their discontent {remember how the junta stole MREs and sold them on the internet?: editor}. Also stationed at the airport are about 70 members of some unknown group, maybe, Right Sector radicals. They wear black uniforms without insignia and don’t interact with the military”.
Editor:
The guys in black smell like mercs. Remember, they’re big talkers… but cowards when it comes to real down n’ dirty sustained combat. They’re thugs-for-hire, bodyguards, hit n’ run ambushers, and assassins… they’re not real soldiers. If mercs were so good, all countries would hire them… and they don’t. They’re unreliable and iffy assets, as much danger to those who wield them as to their intended targets. A steady battalion of line infantry will beat a merc band any day of the week (which is why countries DO depend on line infantry and not mercs).

An Interfax correspondent reported that the traditional Sunday rally of anti-junta patriots took place in Kharkov at the foot of the Lenin monument. The rally involved members of the Southeast and Borotba movements as well as the KPU and Progressive Socialist Party. Yuri Apukhtin, a member of the coordinating council of the Southeast movement, said, “Our task is to boycott the election. We should meet on this square on 25 May… we won’t recognise the election. The all-Ukrainian national unity roundtable held in Kharkov on Saturday was no good; I refused to attend it even though they invited me. Kharkov will have a referendum in the mould of Donetsk and Lugansk”.
******
On Sunday, LifeNews stated to TASS that junta security elements detained its TV journalists near Kramatorsk, saying, “Presumably, they stopped our reporters at a checkpoint near Kramatorsk. We don’t have mobile phone contact with them”.
******
A spokesman for the Kramatorsk opolchenie HQ told Interfax, “There’s fighting on the outskirts of Kramatorsk. They’ve attacked some of our strongpoints and a factory is in flames. They launched an assault on opolchenie fighters in Yasnogorki Raion and in the Stary Gorod part of Kramatorsk. We’ll fight to the end. Junta forces carried out artillery fire against us. They shelled infrastructure and industrial facilities, damaging a factory beyond repair”. No information is available about casualties on either side. Meanwhile, a spokesman for the Slavyansk opolchenie HQ told Interfax, “The junta forces laid a massive barrage on strongpoints on the outskirts, but they’re still under our control. We’ve secured Slavyansk. The enemy has switched to us now”.
Editor:
Note the grim determination of the opolchenie. This isn’t merely a political conflict, as some in the West imagine it to be. It’s a primal conflict between Uniate and Orthodox… between the Vatican and Holy Rus. Where shall the border between the West and the Orthosphere lie? This present conflict will resolve that… this is far more important than the relatively picayune aims of the West, both rightwing and leftist. This is one of the most momentous wars of our time… yes, Holy Rus WILL stop the West, but where? It’s 1242, 1380, 1612, 1709, 1812, and 1941 all over again… and the Westerners expect us to take their shallow agendas seriously. In a pig’s arse…
