Churkin Slams UN for Inaction… Junta Bogged Down as Opolchenie Fights Back… Junta Attempting to Steal Scythian Gold Collections of Crimean Museums Now Out on Loan

On Wednesday, Russian UN Ambassador Vitaly Churkin said that Russia’s surprised at the blasé reaction from the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights to the Kiev junta’s artillery shelling of Slavyansk as well as to its cutting off the Crimean water supply. He said that he’d brought this up with UN Assistant Secretary-General for Human Rights Ivan Šimonović. Churkin said, “I received a rather surprising answer… ‘They’re looking into the situation’. One can see from any satellite that the water doesn’t flow. Once again, the UN dodged its responsibility to give an unbiased appraisal of events. It avoided condemning the artillery shelling of Slavyansk in the same way, referring they needed to investigate it”.

He also said that a closed doors meeting of the UN Security Council on the human rights situation didn’t support Russia’s request to appeal to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon to organise an independent probe into the tragic Dom Profsoyuzov fire in Odessa on 2 May. Churkin reiterated that Russia would continue working towards that, and, in particular, would hold consultations with Mr Ban after he returned from China. Churkin also said that Russia brought up the topic of journalists arrested by the junta at the session, both the LiveNews TV crew as well as freelance journalist Graham Phillips of RT TV, saying, “Once again, our western colleagues kept silent. Even a fellow countryman of the British reporter answered nothing to my question about what he thought about the arrest of a British subject. I regret such an absence of objectivity, but Russia will continue to advance its positions at the UN and in the Security Council”.

According to ITAR-TASS, Human Rights Watch demanded that the junta immediately release Russian LifeNews TV journalists Oleg Sidyakin and Marat Saichenko or make it clear what the charges, if any, were against them. It also insisted that the junta must ensure that the journalists have access to a lawyer and consular services. Besides, it stipulated that the junta must stop its practise of denying entry to Russian journalists, including those working for state media outlets, citing a recent incident in which the illegitimate putschists prevented three journalists from the Arabic service of RT TV channel from entering the Ukraine to cover the 25 May presidential election.

On Wednesday, RF Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights Pavel Astakhov wrote on his Twitter page, “Following the safe return of Anna Vasilenko from Slavyansk to her parents in Belgorod, we’ve received a lot of appeals from Ukrainians. Ukrainian parents are asking Russia to rescue their children from the war zone. They’re comparing the Russian mission with the USSR’s mission during the [Civil] War in Spain”.

On Thursday, RT news TV said that the junta claimed that it seized Graham Phillips, a freelance journalist for RT, because he had body armour. However, Phillips said that the junta wouldn’t deport him from the Ukraine. Earlier, the SBU said that it’d hand over Phillips to the British consul in Kiev. However, in spite of the SBU statement, the consul didn’t know where Phillips was. Then, RT reported that the SBU set the journalist free, unharmed. Phillips wrote on his blog, “Everything that’s connected to my work is alright; nobody brought charges against me, threatened me neither with deportation nor harsh treatment. The Ukrainian government (sic) treated me well”. He also said that he spent a night in Zaporozhe under armed guard. Then, they took him to Kiev and interrogated him about his RT work.

Editor:

Two reasons why Philips claimed that the junta didn’t mistreat him:

  • He’s a British national and the putschists are afraid of hurting a Westerner (do note that such scruples don’t extend to Russians at all)
  • Phillips is telling a white lie to stay in the country… if he “told the whole truth and nothing but the truth”, the pro-American “authorities” would’ve kicked his gnarly ass out of the country

There you have it. Firstly, he was a “protected” Westerner, secondly, he’s NOT telling us “the rest of the story” (although he WILL tell Ms Simonyan when he can).

On Thursday, a spokesman for the United Army of the Southeast HQ told Interfax that Lugansk People’s Republic (LNR) opolchenie stopped a MAZ truck carrying more than 1,000 mining detonators near Popasna last night, saying, “Last night we seized a MAZ [truck] with detonators, and detained two armed persons inside this vehicle. The truck was heading to Popasna, which is a key railway hub. The driver confessed that he had orders to deliver these detonators. We arrested the driver and the persons accompanying him, and we launched an inquiry into the matter”.

Editor:

VOR should fire or transfer the writer who used “Lugansk People’s Republic” and “United Army of the Southeast” in quotes in the original of this article (it’s Donetsk People’s Republic, not “Donetsk People’s Republic”… thanks to the Cabineteer who pointed up my original comment’s ambiguity)… that betrayed a treacherous pro-Western attitude. At this moment, the Rodina can’t tolerate pro-American suck-ass quislings (the same is true of us here in the Russian Orthodox diaspora… especially, those who suck up to Langley and to the American rightwing).

A spokesman for the Donetsk People’s Republic (DNR) opolchenie HQ told Interfax, “Military hardware moved to Volnovakha from Gorlovka. Twenty-five militiamen sustained injuries and there were civilian casualties, too. No exchange of fire is taking place at the moment, but people are afraid to leave their houses as they expect military operations to continue”.

Aleksei Chmilenko, the leader of the People’s Front of Lugansk, told Interfax, “Our mobile groups received an alert about the arrival of unknown armed persons as reinforcement for the Ukrainian border guards stationed in Luganska. They [militiamen] went there to verify this information. Having arrived in the village, our men ordered these people to produce their IDs and leave Lugansk as soon as possible. However, they refused to obey the orders and opened fire. Our men fired back. None of our people was hurt in the incident, but several Ukrainian soldiers sustained injuries. A convoy of Ukrainian security forces’ armoured vehicles moved towards Lisichansk. I don’t rule out that the adversary will try to retake control of as much of the area as possible in the run-up to the elections. They’ll use force to do this. They’ll do it to be able to set up at least several polling stations”.

Editor:

The writer used “Alexiy” in this piece for “Aleksei”… they don’t know how to transliterate Cyrillic properly. Is VOR employing expat Americans (save for John Robles, who’s proven that he’s true-blue)? That could be a mistake… after all, there ARE such things as “moles”. It’s clear to all normal people that the “Ukraine” is broken… the only question is, “To what extent?” Do note the evil alliance between Uniates, schismatics, and the oligarchs… do note that the Uniate and schismatic hierarchy in the USA suck up to the Republican Party… shitbirds of a feather do flock together!

On Thursday, the United Army of the Southeast HQ told Interfax that armed clashes occurred in the northern part of the LNR, which is under junta occupation, “Fighting is going on in Rubezhnoye and Lisichansk. Over ten people have been hurt in Rubezhnoye. In Lisichansk, unknown people blew up a bridge and then opened fire on buses and civilians. Currently, there’s no information on casualties in Lisichansk. However, people are leaving their homes and fleeing to southern parts of the LNR, the number of refugees from the northern parts of the LNR increases every day”.

On Thursday, according to Interfax, the Ukrainian Justice Ministry officially registered the Right Sector, a Ukrainian ultra-nationalist terrorist organisation, as a political party. its information coördinator Borislav Bereza wrote on Facebook, “We’ve officially registered the Right Sector Party, so, now we’re a legitimate political force, which means we can stand for election and get elected at every level”. On 22 March, a number of ultra-nationalist terrorist organisations joined the Right Sector. The party’s core is the extremist Ukrainian National Assembly (UNA-UNSO). Right Sector leader Dmitri Yarosh didn’t rule out a possible future merger between the Right Sector and Svoboda Party.

Editor:

This “legalisation” means nothing… but it’ll move jerks like Nuland to do even more. “See, the Right Sector is a legitimate political force”. I’ve gotta hurl… it’s like Likud in Israel, they remain murderers and rapists, and that’s that.

On Wednesday, Culture Minister Vladimir Medinsky told reporters, “In the event of the {Scythian gold] collection not being returned to Crimea, we’d consider this an act of approved theft. We’re holding talks with the museum in Holland at the foreign ministry level. This week, we plan to meet with MID officials, and join in, if need be”.

The exhibition titled, The Crimea: Gold and secrets from the Black Sea, opened at the Allard Pierson Museum, an archaeological museum at Amsterdam University, in early February. It contained collections from five Ukrainian museums, including one in Kiev and four in Crimea. It displays over 500 archaeological finds, including Scythian gold artefacts, a ceremonial helmet, precious stones, swords, armour, and housewares of the ancient Greeks and Scythians. Among the most valuable exhibits from the Central Museum of Taurida’s collection are items dating back to the late Scythian and Alanian periods… a Scythian tabernacle roof top in the form of a griffin, a Scythian bronze boiler and horse ornaments, and vessels in the form of sheep from the Neusatz necropolis.

Since the Netherlands doesn’t recognise the Crimea’s reunification with Russia, which took place after the exhibition opening, the question arose as to where the collection should go once the exhibition closes in August. In late March, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry sent a note to the Netherlands, asking it to guarantee the return of the exhibits displayed at the Amsterdam exhibition to the Ukraine, the ministry’s spokesman Yevgeny Perebinis said in Kiev earlier. On the other hand, the Republic of Crimea State Council said on its official website that the Crimea threatened to stop coöperation with European museums if they don’t return the Scythian gold collection to the Crimean museums that made it available.

Editor:

The gold belongs to the Crimean museums… this shows you the depth of Western duplicity. A failure to return goods to its proper owners (the Crimean museums) will scupper all cultural exchanges. It’s time to give the Uniate thieves and murderers a message… “NO! It’s going back to its proper owners!” Let’s not reward Uniate lies. Remember, the Uniates are the biggest spreaders of the “golodomor genocide” fable… when they weren’t involved at all! We’re talking about people who have no intention of speaking the truth, acting in truth, or teaching the truth. If you needed proof that the Uniates are parasitical liars, this is it. If you support the Uniates in this, you smile at the Dom Profsoyuzov fire and all their other enormities. May God curse you.

On Thursday, according to ITAR-TASS, Vladimir Makovich, a Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the DNR Supreme Soviet, said, “The Ukrainian authorities claim that they’re still organising an election on the territory of the now former Ukraine. We’ve banned this presidential election. 78 deputies voted in favour of this ban, no one voted against it or abstained. In line with this decision, there’ll be no presidential election in the DNR on 25 May”.
