I’ve come to realise that most Western (and junta) reporting on the present Ukrainian Civil War (for that is what it is) is worthless mendacious twaddle. The USA is now a rogue state… look at how Anglo Americans worship “Winning is the only thing” and “He with the most toys wins”. The USA overthrew the legitimate President of the Ukraine… it spent billions to do so. Unfortunately, it didn’t turn out as they wanted… Biden’s son was to get a lucrative cut in the gas transit system and American-based conglomerates were to get first nibs on natural resources. Instead, an American-fomented civil war now embroils the FOUR major groups in the putative “Ukraine”…

• Galicians… in the Lvovshchina in the West; mostly UGKTs Uniates and schismatical Orthodox. The most intense stronghold of junta support… but not unanimous. They’re the only speakers of “Ukrainian”… a heavily-Polonised Russian dialect. It didn’t become “Russian” until 1944… the ruling elements were Polish up to that point.
• Rusins… in Podkarpatskaya Rus in the Far West; split between Uniates and canonical Orthodox. The Uniates are split between Galician UGKTs loyalists and another group (“Byzantine Catholics”) more oriented to Slovakia. The “Byzantine” Uniates and Orthodox are anti-junta… the UGKTs fanatics are pro-junta. They speak Rusin, which is closer to Slovak than to “Ukrainian”. This only became “Russian” in 1944, but it was the centre of Russophilia. Until 1944, the leading elements were Magyar and Slovak.
• Little Russians… in the Centre, focal point in Kiev, land-locked. The church is split between the canonical Church (majority) and schismatical Orthodox (minority). The schismatics are pro-junta… the canonical Church is anti-junta. The main language is Surzhik, a mixture of Russian and “Ukrainian” elements. This land is virtually coterminous with the Ukrainian People’s Republic of 1919.
• Novorossiyans… in the East, stretching along the coast from Odessa. This is the heartland of the canonical Church… there are virtually no Uniates or schismatics here. This is the epicentre of anti-junta sentiment. The people speak Russian. It didn’t become part of the “Ukraine” until the 1920s.

Russia submits that it, not the USA has the trump hand in these parts… given the fact that 13 years of expensive warfare in foreign parts coupled with insane tax cuts to the Affluent Effluent knackered the American economy, they’re right. The USA isn’t exceptional, they aren’t exclusive, and they don’t have the right to dictate outcomes to all situations. By the end of this year, the “Ukraine” will no longer exist. What shall the USA do about it? I haven’t the slightest… I’ll be honest enough to say so. We face a yawning black hole… it scares most thinking people shitless. I doubt that there’ll be a war… nuclear weapons will guarantee that. As D K Kiselyov put it, “Russia can turn America into a pile of radioactive ash”… Washington knows it and hates Dmitri Konstantinovich for saying so openly.

I won’t tell you what to think of VVP’s words… however, they’re not idle. Ponder them well…

One of the worst sites for black propaganda against V V Putin is a disgusting hardline teabag effort called The Fiscal Times. A Google search led me to it, so, I typed in “Putin” in the search box… the rubbish that came up was mind-boggling. Do give heed to it… no, it’s utterly bonkers, but it’s what the Republican Party believes in. The Democrats are bad, granted, but the GOP is far worse. In the case of this website, it received its initial funding from Peter G Peterson, a billionaire investment banker, an advocate of slashing social welfare expenditures and knackering Social Security. In other words, it advocates an evil social agenda condemned by the Church. The people who hate V V Putin hate Christ and His Church, and they hate social justice, social equity, and a fair world for all. This is why all “Orthodox” who advocate Hard Right causes aren’t in step with the Church’s REAL social teaching. HH does NOT support the teabag agenda. HH stands by G A Zyuganov and promotes socialism as being good and in sync with the Church’s vision. In any case, all those who attack socialism attack the communitarianism that Our Lord Christ taught. Our Lord Christ didn’t teach, “The race goes to the swiftest”… He taught, “He’s not heavy, he’s my brother”.

Look at the bright side of this… it means that the Republican teabag filth are AFRAID of V V Putin and of Russia… why, they’re advocating a “preventive war” against the Rodina. Actually, that’s a good thing. In 1942, no one thought that the Nazis would be history in three years. We’re in an equally dark period now… however, we may have just seen our “Stalingrad”… the rotten edifice is creaking… the teabag shits know it. I have a word of warning… they won’t go quietly… more blood will flow before they end on the rubbish tip of history. Remember Our Lord Christ’s words… Woe to them that call good “evil” and evil “good”. I’d say that applies to the contemporary Republican Party and all of its works. The love of money is the root of ALL evil… do note how the Hard Right worships money and status. Need I say more?

In an interview on Gromadske TV, Ukrainian journalist Bogdan Butkevich said that we needed to kill many of the residents of the Donbass. He claims that the Donbass is a depressed region, and the Ukraine doesn’t need its people nor its problems. He boasted, “The population of the Donetsk region is about four million people, of whom 1.5 million are surplus. We don’t need to understand what the Donbass wants. We need to understand the Ukrainian national interest, and just use the Donbass as a resource. I don’t have a prescription on how to solve the problem of the Donbass, but overriding what to do… we need to kill many of its people”. The interview dates from late April 2014, but it’s only now begun active dissemination on the Internet.

Bishop {actually, Archimandrite… he’s not a bishop, yet: editor} Ioann Roshchin of Naro-Fominsk, Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA, told us that His Holiness Patriarch Kirill Gundyaev, First Hierarch of the Patriarchate of Moscow and all the Russias, and Metropolitan Hilarion Kapral of New York and Eastern America, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia (ROCOR), discussed the problems faced by Russian Orthodox clergy abroad in a meeting in Moscow. He said, “We talked about mission, both to our compatriots abroad, and to already-existing parishioners, that is, the people who live abroad, who belong to the Russian Orthodox Church. We covered a range of issues, as our parishes are around the globe on virtually every continent, accordingly, we looked at what we see now and what we need to do to strengthen our witness to the world”.

Bishop Ioann said that the meeting of the First Hierarchs was a working session, but that they made no specific decisions. However, it was important, for “Metropolitan Hilarion and Patriarch Kirill could compare notes on many issues facing Orthodoxy in the world. Different countries of the world have their own particular manifestation of Christianity in general and Russian Orthodoxy in particular. Not all the countries where there are Russian Orthodox parishes are Orthodox or even Christian. Of course, every place has its own complexities, difficulties, and problems in terms of their interaction with the leadership of those countries where they are”.

Of particular concern was the fate of Christianity and Orthodoxy in the Middle East. However, Bishop Ioann noted, “This is always present in conversations between the bishops, as persecution of Christians in the Middle East is a continuing problem. Moreover, both the MP and the ROCOR have ideas on how to influence this situation”. Metropolitan Hilarion arrived in Russia with a pilgrimage group. Vladyki Ioann stated, “A group of parishioners and priests of the ROCOR came to Russia, along with clergy and believers from MP parishes abroad, to visit various dioceses, monasteries, and places of holy relics. Naturally, when Metropolitan Hilarion is in Russia, he always arranges a meeting with Patriarch Kirill, and the Patriarch is always glad to welcome the head of the ROCOR”.

On 30 July 2014, Patriarch Kirill Gundyaev of Moscow and all the Russias met Metropolitan Hilarion Kapral of New York and Eastern America, the First Hierarch of the ROCOR, at the Patriarchal residence in the Danilov Monastery in Moscow. Also in attendance were Metropolitan Ilarion Alfeyev, the Chairman of the MP Synodal Department for External Church Relations (OVTsS), Archbishop Mark Golovkov of Yegoryevsk, head of the MP Directorate for Foreign Institutions and head of the MP Department for Finance and Economic Management, Archimandrite Ioann Roshchin, Bishop-elect of Naro-Fominsk, and Archpriest Peter Kholodny. During the meeting, Patriarch Kirill and Metropolitan Hilarion discussed Orthodoxy around the world and developed plans for further coördination of missionary work. Patriarch Kirill said, “The most important thing is that our joint efforts help Russian Orthodoxy to develop in all countries where it’s present, given the fact that every year more and more Russian people live in foreign countries”.
