The Berkutovtsy exemplified courage in the face of extreme provocation. They had orders to keep casualties to a minimum, and they did their best to do so. The American-led mobs showed no scruples… they had American-supplied weapons and used them to kill, not only cops, but also ordinary folks who wouldn’t buckle under to their threats and “orders”. Remember, the Uniate mobs of today are the descendants, often literal descendants, of UPA terrorists and murderers… they say that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Well, the violence and brutality of contemporary Uniates matches that shown by their forebears in the VOV and in the immediate postwar years. Honour the Berkutovtsy… they stood tall and took punishment that few could withstand. They did have Pride, Integrity, Guts…
