Small Band of Right Sector Fanatics Remains at Donetsk Airport… Refuses to Surrender

On Wednesday, at a briefing in Donetsk, DNR Chairman of the Government A V Zakharchenko stated that a small junta band remains at the Donetsk airport and refuses to surrender, but overall the VSN controls “almost all” the airport, saying, “A small group of the enemy locked itself up in the old airport terminal. We talked on the phone with them, gave them surrender terms, but they’re Right Sector militants, they don’t want to give up”. At the same time, he noted that junta units continued to fire at the airport and the Donetsk outskirts from Peski and Avdeyevka, “We don’t fire at Peski and Avdeyevka, as our homies (земляки) live there… we see these towns as their homes… If we flattened them, we’d have already been in Karlovka (raion centre @40 klicks (25 miles) from Donetsk)”.
