1 January 2015. It’s Another New Year… However (as Chukcha the Wise Would Say)… The Love and the Dedication Remain Unchanged

It’s another new year. I’ve gained some new “followers”… I’ve lost some. As always, I like to sit back and chat a bit at times, to clarify what this site is and what it isn’t. Here’s something that I wrote five years ago that I think says it best, in re the “religious” aspect of this site. This is a secular site that often deals with religion… it’s not “religious” (indeed, most of the “religious” material comes from secular journalism). That’s on top of the political and cultural focus of this endeavour. I’d best describe my outlook as Traditional Russian Orthodox in faith, democratic leftist in political orientation, all-Holy Rus in cultural focus, and in favour of social justice and equity, not “economic freedom” (which is neither “free” nor “economical” in the sense of being the most efficient engine of social progress). I like ordinary cops… but realise that there’s a problem with law enforcement. The older that I get, the more that I realise the COMPEXITY of the world, and the more that I’m open to to pluralistic solutions (but not compromise with objective evil, such as with sectarians, Mormons, or neocons). I’ll listen to people with skill and ability all day long, but I give ignoranuses the short shrift (so should you).

Love is the cornerstone of this work… love of life, love of God, love of the truth, and love for my Fellow-Man and all of God’s Creation… if I forget that, I may as well roll it all up and die. One last thought… if you ever hear someone say that they’re “speaking the truth in love”, know this… such people not only are NOT speaking the truth, there’s not an ounce of love in their system… none whatsoever. If I had one caveat for you this year, this is it.

Life IS worth it… be a HAPPY warrior. Keep it focused and keep it sweet… God wills it!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

This is off the official MVD Rossii website… no lie! It’s a whole lotta fun. It starts off with a clip of a DPSnik (traffic cop) making a routine stop… the vid really picks up at about 0:35… it’s a hip-hop song in English. This is a gas, no matter how you slice it.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I wanted something different for the first post of the year… this is it. Love to all of you!
