9 January 2015. Clarification on What the “Sexual Deviant Driving Ban” is NOT

There’s much to-do in the Western media about a supposed ban on driving licences for “sexual deviants” in Russia. I decided to ask Russian friends at the Centre much more knowledgable than I am on the subject. Firstly, it isn’t a “law” per se… it didn’t undergo debate and two votes in the RF Gosduma. Secondly, it wasn’t amending the UK (Criminal Code), that requires a public process. If it wasn’t either of these two things, then, what was it? The best that my contacts came up with was that it could be part of a set of bureaucratic regs absentmindedly signed by Medvedev right before the Holiday Break. Ministers initial dozens of documents daily… one can’t read ’em all. No doubt, this was given to him as “driving regs”, so, he didn’t look at it, and signed it. Another “red flag” is the date of introduction. Everybody’s on Holiday! However, the Western media is full of clueless asshats, so, they don’t know that.
There’s no conspiracy here… it looks like some bureaucrat used this to advance their own agenda. Boy, did they ever fuck up! They’ll find out that Payback is a Motherfucker and that their ass is grass and D A Medvedev will be the lawnmower (he’ll deep-six the culprit for his own CYA). Alternately, someone wanted to make it look like the bureaucrat involved snuck in their own notions to unseat them (an internal ministry power play… happens every day).
Right now, there appears to be a tussle between D O Rogozin and D A Medvedev to see who becomes VVP’s Heir Apparent. This MIGHT be part of such manoeuvring. In any case, it’s not a law, it’s a bureaucratic regulation, and those are easily taken care of. The Western media sucks wind, yet again.
