Today, DNR Deputy Minister of Defence E А Basurin said that junta commanders moved a “volunteer” nationalist battalion towards VSN positions in the direction of DNR, saying, “The official report of the OSCE observer mission for 14 April, and the conclusion of the Joint Centre for Monitoring and Coordination of the Ceasefire (STsKK) observed the OUN Battalion moving its positions one kilometre to the east near Peski and Zhabunki. At that time, the battalion formally came under the command of 93 Mechanised Brigade, so, we see that the brigade command pushed the discredited nationalists towards our positions. Thus, they solved two problems… eliminating unwanted fire that provoked retaliatory fire from us, and the subsequent charges of ceasefire violations”. He emphasised that the VSN continues to observe clashes between regular junta units and extremist “volunteer” battalions, noting, “Earlier, the Minoborony Ukrainy repeatedly stated that all ‘volunteer’ battalions, without exception, already part of the regular forces or a part of the National Guard. The situation at the contact line indicates that either the reassignment was de jure but not de facto, or that Ukrainian commanders knowingly give criminal orders”.

The junta-misruled Ukraine is a legal fiction… it has no real government, it has no real army, it has no real economy. Banderstan makes East Bumfuck look like Paradise. Take the army… the “volunteer” battalions are militarily worthless… they fold and run when faced with real opposition. The same is true of the so-called “National Guard”… they’re nothing but Galician Uniate nationalist fanatics led by untrained incompetent hacks. On top of that, these units, plus the ragbag oligarch/warlord battalions, lack heavy weapons or the training to use such. They’re like a bunch of bombastic Homer n’ Jethros with shotguns facing trained troops. It’s why the junta forces lost Debaltsevo… these untrained hillbillies just didn’t know how to soldier (they had a two-week training course from overpaid and overrated PMC mercs, dontcha know).
Be CAREFUL and PRUDENT in your dealings with all who self-identify as “Ukrainian Catholic” or “Ukrainian Orthodox”… most are innocent, but many are not. Their hierarchy supports the terrorist action in Novorossiya, their clergy must give public support for it, and they raise money for war purposes during church services. DO NOT ARGUE OR DISPUTE WITH THEM. I reiterate this warning now and again, for its, perhaps, the most important warning that I must give you. LEAVE THEM BE… or you’ll face unfounded accusations of “hate speech”… like all bullies, they’re cowards, and will go running to their Western sugar daddies to squelch you if you don’t take a care. LET THEM RANT AND RAVE. We’re winning… that angers them… so, they’re going to be twice as loud. If you must, walk away from them. Of course, do stand up to the Quislings in our ranks… that’s a different story. Have a care… the times be evil…

What’s going on now is NOT a “Ukrainian Civil War”… it’s the War of National Liberation of Novorossiya. I believe that the Peoples Republics have crossed a line… they’re NOT fighting for autonomy… they ARE fighting for their independence from a feral, lawless, illegitimate, and ravening Galician Uniate nationalist Nazi state… Banderstan, as many of my friends call it. That’s what at stake and it’s why we diaspora Russian Orthodox MUST stand on the side of the Novorossiya patriots… or we stand on the side of objective evil along with such “anti-communist” creepos as John McCain and Ted Cruz. That’s reality… we MUST attend to it, or it WILL attend to us…

Today, Chairman of the LNR Government I V Plotnitsky said at a meeting of the LNR Public Council that we must win a new Great Patriotic War waged against resurgent fascism, saying, “Victory Day must have a special place not only on the calendar, but also in our hearts. Today, this date is doubly special for us, because in addition to the fact that this is an anniversary year, for the first time, we celebrate Victory Day under wartime conditions. We must win a new Great Patriotic War on our land, in our Republic, as our ancestors did in 1945. Unfortunately, today, we face those who didn’t accept that… we defeated the Nazis, yes, but today they’re reborn and we have to do it all over again. Don’t forget the expectations of Ukrainian VOV veterans, for 9 May 2015 will play a special role in that part of our former country. They’ll watch what happens in our Republic very closely. They’ll ask, ‘Why are we different from them? Why do we celebrate, and how shall we celebrate it?’ We need to meet the expectations of not only our veterans, but also those that live on the other side. They need to know that we understand and appreciate their podvig*. They need to know that we’re firmly convinced of the rightness of what they did [in the war]”.

Our correspondent reported from the scene that the shelling by junta forces of Spartak near the Donetsk airport continues despite the arrival of junta delegates at the Joint Centre for Monitoring and Coordination of the Ceasefire (STsKK). Today, OSCE observers, Russian and junta members of the STsKK, and VSN officers arrived at Spartak for ceasefire negotiations to ease the recovery of the bodies of junta militants killed in a failed attempt to break through VSN positions. In particular, the negotiations involved Ukrainian generals Aleksandr Rozmaznin and Andrei Taran, and Russian Colonel-General Aleksandr Lentsov. A STsKK source said, “At the moment, Colonel-General Lentsov is trying to negotiate a ceasefire. If negotiations are successful, and the fire stops, we’ll remove the dead bodies of the Ukrainian troops from Spartak during the day”.
